So after the deprime stage I move over to the Ugly Annealer. I'm not sponsored by Derraco and I bought this with my own money. so you'll get an honest opinion of it. it's a great bit of kit. it's not over priced like a lot of reloading kit is here in the UK. @UKReloader 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do like the Titan. Perfectly capable scope, and I wouldn't get rid if it, but I think the Arken is as good, but at half the price, and me being tight it's difficult to justify the extra cost.

      @richardwatkin1234 No problem. You won't be disappointed at £400. I think they are equally capable scopes. I've got my titan on my 6.5 creedmoor and the Arken will be going on the win mag. That's when I finally get my variation back from the police.😁😁 Enjoy ya shooting fella.

    I too have an Ugly Annealer but you should move your torch back to the shoulder as annealing this area help control your shoulder bump as well.. I am one to support the full glow for 1-1.5 seconds for full annealing. The glow indicates depending on brass composition 900-1000 degrees which at that temp takes about 1 second to annealing. Otherwise this annealer is awesome. I have a couple videos of me doing 444 marlin for conversion to 309 JDJ, 6.5x257 Roberts AI, and even a rimmed 243 Winchester for my Encores.. Even did Dual Torch…. That is FAST but a little crazy!!!

      Hey, Yeah I looked at the EP2 before I bought the Ugly, and it was just a matter of cost why I chose the Ugly. As for changing stuff over, its just one Allen key to switch out calibres. Which I don't mind as I only anneal .223 and 6.5 at the moment. I am looking at getting a 300 win mag though.😁😁😁

    I noticed that some completed cartridges had circular marks, about 0.080”, above the olive on the bullets. If they are truly present, your seating stem may be causing this for this particular bullet profile. If you agree, there are videos for lapping (polishing) your seating stem bullet contact surface to remove that edge contact with the bullet. Good luck, I like your videos - they are very thorough. Thanks.

    • @UKReloader
      @UKReloader 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for the spot, I hadn't noticed the ring before. I'll have to check my rounds to double check them now. I have watched a few videos on lapping the seating stem for a better fit, and I know a man that can do that for me. I was hoping I wouldn't have that issue as I'm using the ELDMs so figured as it's a Hornady round and die they would have a better fit. Guess I'm hoping for too much though.😂 I had that exact issue with some Lee dies I had, so got rid of them pretty much straightaway. Guess you get what you pay for these days. Thanks for the comment, and watching my videos. Really appreciate it. I'll let you know when I've checked the rest of my rounds for that mark.

    • @ericabig3471
      @ericabig3471 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had to do a bullet seating stem polishing on a LEE Deluxe die set for my 9mm Luger seating stem. I used 600 grit sand paper and a bullet to mate the surfaces and repeatedly rotate for the metal conforming process. It worked for me well, no more circular ring on the projectile (bullet). I also purchased a RCBS Match Master die set for my M1 Garand about two years ago. I always clean new dies before using. I noticed that the bullet seating stem, bullet contact surface, had a huge amount of machining chips. I contacted RCBS to report this problem and they sent me a new seating stem!? That was stupid on RCBS’s side. I did not need a new seating stem, rather I was attempting to communicate that they have a post machining problem relative to removing machining debris from their final product. Ya, checking our new die sets is critical based on my recent purchases. I’m from Wisconsin state in the USA. I’m embarrassed of the quality I have received from my counties reloading dies!!! So be careful and and always clean new die sets and inspect the projectile seating surface for a ring caused by the bullet seating stem. Sorry you may have experienced this problem. It may have been the manufacturer’s problem or that they can’t produce a seating stem that fits all projectile profiles. I think the later is the biggest influence. So is handloaders need to look for this potential problem when we buy a new die or projectile type.

    • @UKReloader
      @UKReloader 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ericabig3471 I've had a look, and you're right, there is a small ring around most of the rounds, but not all of them. Perhaps an inconsistency of the bullets maybe. I'll take a look into lapping the stem. The issue we have here in the UK, is there is zero customer support from any of the manufacturers. I had an issue with my press, emailed Hornady, they asked for a video of the problem, duly obliged and haven't heard anything since.

    • @ericabig3471
      @ericabig3471 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have seen on TH-cam that some die set manufactures offer alternative bullet seating stems for different bullet profiles to allow proper projectile seating without projectile “marking (rings)”. I think Hornady offers alternative projectile seating stems to avoid the problem you have experienced. I think it may come down to “normal” projectiles versus “ELD” projectiles. Just my memory that may be flawed. So, maybe research if your die manufacturer has alternative projectile seating stems for the projectile you are using. I don’t have a personal experience with this type of projectile choice. I rather use old school projectiles that I have experience with. Good luck! Whenever we choose to use a different projectile, this can be a problem we have to deal with. Unexpected projectile deformation that our current seating stem can not seat properly without deformation of the copper jacket. Always be observant and inspect our final hand loaded cartridge results. Not a criticism on my part, rather a sharing of my own experiences.

    Hi I'm new to 6.5 and did a ladder test 101 bullets made and my best was 143 grain eldx 42.4 and sized coal was 2.670.

    • @UKReloader
      @UKReloader 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, I like the eldx, but not for the long disrance shooting I do. As far as I'm aware it's mire of a long range hunting round. I can't remember off hand what my COAL length is, as I measure off the ogive rather than the overall length. I could definitely seat out a bit further though if I was willing to single load them, but I prefer to magazine feed them, and there's only about 3.5 thou between the two lengths. Thanks for the comment, its much appreciated 😁

    Hey mate just came across your channel. Am I missing something here! My 6.5 Creed measure 1.554 after a 2thou shoulder bump! Compared to yours there’s a big difference. I fl sized them so that was my first firing pretty much brand new brass. Other that we’re pretty much reloading the same way for 6.5 even using the same rifle haha. Just had my first club shoot in Fclass, I posted the video yesterday on my channel. Can’t wait for the next club match. Just subed as well mate

    • @UKReloader
      @UKReloader 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate, I guess even with the same make of rifle you'll have a slightly different chamber size, which I assume would account for the difference in shoulder bump. These cases are on their third firing, so are all fire formed to my rifle. I could well be missing something though, but I do know if I don't shoulder bump to that measurement my rifle won't chamber the round. The first time I reloaded them I only bumped it 1 thou and my action was extremely stiff, and had 6 out of 50 that wouldn't chamber at all. Thanks for the sub, I've just had a look at your channel as well, and it looks like the sort of stuff I'm interested in, and have subbed to you as well.😁😁😁

    • @BoltImpact
      @BoltImpact 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UKReloader yeah it might be the difference in chamber size plus your on your third so yeah maybe that’s the difference. All good mate and thanks for the sub. Looking forward to future content Cheers
