Shooting is by far Basketball's Most Important Skill.
Join my mailing list - andrewmhoops.ck.page/newsletter
Players like Klay Thompson, Kevin Huerter, Duncan Robinson and Yuta Watanabe get paid Millions and Millions of Dollars to only have to make 4 out of 10 Threes in the NBA!
Sounds so simple right?
Yet, so many of us make these 5 horrible mistakes outlined in today's video, that it holds us back from our potential of being Human Flamethrowing Snipers. (If you are reading this comment "After watching this I am now a Human Flame Throwing Sniper.")
In this video we learn from mistakes that players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Scoot Henderson make, comparing them to high level shooters/scorers, Steph Curry and Tyler Herro.
By the end of it you will be aware of the 5 Horrible mistakes, but also ways to fix them and avoid them occurring ever again!

    How does it make sense that JB driving left 7% more frequently shold lead to a 7% increase in his left hand turnover rate? If turnover % per hand is calculated by number of turnovers for a hand / number of drives with that hand, then frequency of drives with that hand should have no impact on turnover rate. You'd only see a relationship if turnovers per hand was calculated as number of turnovers per hand / total drives across both hands. Which isn't really a useful way to calculate that stat...

    Hey Andrew , how come i score almost all my contested shots but miss wide open? just feels weird whenever i shoot catch & shoot (and open)

    • @AndrewMHoops
      @AndrewMHoops 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question - sounds like you are thinking too much. Being contested takes away your time to think so you rely solely on instincts, compared to wide open where you have time to think. I would recommend when you are wide open to shoot as if you were contested. Don’t allow yourself time to think, instead get set with your footwork and shoot straight away. If this is still an issue, you should look into some mindfulness work, such as visualisation pre/during your games. My Jaylen brown video talks about mindfulness, and I am working on an IQ video atm which also discusses this.
