I took out my 700 mm .30 Panthera yesterday. Back in september/october I tuned one of the H&N slugs to ±2 fps but they still weren't any good at 50 meters. Yesterday using the same tuning, without chronograph, I tried the ZAN 54 grain "new design" slugs that I bought last year, and they landed on top of each other at 50 meters without even tuning the gun for them. I'll tune for those later, just wanted to tell you that those slugs seem very good, at least in my gun. When it's tuned, I'll try them at longer distances.

U should try those normal st or stx barrel how they work. It is taking years that they talking about those, but they cant bring those in shops.

I thought about this on the previous video too: When checking the noise levels with and without silencer/moderator in a video, it helps to move the camera away from the gun, 10 - 15 meters, because then you can hear the echo from the surroundings better and it easier to get an impression of the noise level 👍🙂

Hi, I also had a lot of problems with my .30 Panthera. Maybe a few things that worked for me can help you. First, I swapped almost all of the orings for new ones. Then I swapped the heavy slug liner for a superior pellet liner. You should also increase the regulator pressure, I destroyed 2 valves with too low pressure. I also swapped the two screws that hold the small block under the plenum. They are too long and the valve can hit the screws if the regulator pressure is too low. The valve opens too wide. I also loosened the two screws from the plennum that are supposed to jam the barrel. Now my Panthera shoots extremely accurately.

Kommer följa det du lägger upp 👍👍 När jag valde kaliber fanns det nästa ingen info på youtube om vad den kalibern går för. Jag har heller inte fått till nån bra precision än men jag har en del att lära mig också. Jag köpte samma H&N slugs som du också. Lyckades få ut en rätt jämn hastighet ±2-3 fps tror jag. Fick tips att testa högre hastigheter och tyngre slugs, så det ska jag göra när jag sätter igång igen. Lite dyrt att skjuta in tycker jag, men man får skylla sig själv när man köper såna här grejer. 😉

That’s actually pretty impressive given the very limited number of slugs. You could definitely tune for those at 50 and 100 yards by the looks of it.

If anybody knows something about the story of the Highlander Churchill riffles, please comment - I dont know much about this little riffle and its history, think they were build in Italy for the USA market in the 80s. I am sure somebody out there is familiar with the "Highlanders" and their story..

Did found some tex about the BSA Monarch used here in this episode and the BSA riffles in general. If somebody is interested in BSA riffles and their history read here below: BSA Monarch ”.30-06 started April 66 with SN 7L2000 thru 7L4650 in Feb. 71. ” ”"The Monarch had several very good selling points; it was very stylish and attractive to look at, it was exceptionally well balanced, it was also light in weight and extremely accurate." The barrels were spill bored and each rifling groove cut indicvidually. A factor that adversely affected sales was the receiver ring machining that only allowed the use of the Parker-Hale "roll-off" mounts.” ”Just a small point here there were two versions of the Monarch the 1st pattern had the same action as the Majestic complete with scalloped left wall and dovetails for the Parker-Hale rings. the 2nd pattern Monarch had a smotth toped action that took scopes mounts that would fit the Rem 700 action so it would be more acceptable to the American market.” ”BSA is of course Birmingham Small Arms of England. The first of the modern line of BSA rifles came to the States in the mid nineteen fifties. There is some confusion as to the actual name of this model but I have seen it described as either the Royal or the Hunter model. These rifles were basically of the mauser pattern incorporating the long mauser extractor. They were fine quality guns, but a bit expensive to produce. By the late fifties, these rifles had given way to the BSA Majestic series. This model incorporated the push feed system that was by then becoming prevalent in the States. It also set the basic pattern for the subsequent BSA models. The next successor model was the Monarch which included some simplifications. Further while both the Royal and the Monarch series had an integral receiver scope base dovetail (mated to Parker Hale mounts), the Monarch dispensed with it. The monarch ‘ruled’ until perhaps the late nineteen sixties at which time the last of these nice BSA rifles reached the American shores in the form of the CF2 model. In some technical action details it was a throwback to the Majestic model though still excluding the integral dovetail receiver pattern. The Majestic and CF2 are considered just a bit more desirable than the Monarch action although the styling of some of the CF2 stocks was a bit radical and less than popular. The good about all these series was that they were made ‘the old fashioned way’, (much like the pre-64 Winchester model 70) from solid steel billets for receiver and bolt, which involved labor intensive machining. The Royal rifles had come in three action lengths, with the largest only accommodating the 30-06 class cartridges. The several later models were apparently offered in only the two longer lengths which eventually included two short magnum chamberings. I own several of the Royal series and find these rifles quite nice. (Photos of one in 243 Win. below) I have owned a Majestic with a comparable personal evaluation. The now defunct firm of Herter’s marketed both the later BSA push feed actions (as I recall the Majestic series) and complete rifles which they assembled. These were not up to the BSA standards in fit/finish though apparently still quite functional. In speaking particularly of the latter two models, I need to attribute my knowledge, actually recollections here, to Frank DeHasse’s book “Bolt Action Rifles”. There a detailed description of all four models can be found along with his expert evaluations.

At the time I had the two Rugers , the accuracy was not like a bolt action , then shortly after they started to bring kits out to help with getting better accuracy trigger ect

Interesting stuff. I find that target clipping / tearing is often caused by what is behind the paper target. Try suspending the target to a horizontal piece of string with a couple of clothes pegs, so that there is nothing behind it.

Oh yes one last thing, I really enjoyed your video and didn't think it was boring at all. If I can't shoot watching somebody else who does a good video is the next best thing. Thank you

Tony, I don't know if this will be of any particular help to you but I did notice you were wanting targets that were not expensive match targets that would still show a precise targeting hole. Before I got into airguns, or I guess back into airguns I used to shoot NRA high-power. I shot a 30.06 M1 garand and later shot an ar15 out to 500 yards and beyond. In the AR 15 I shot a 70 grain and hand loaded bullet. and my Hand loaded cartridge would not fit in the magazine and had to be hand loaded singly but ridiculously accurate. Of course we had huge pasted targets. The target paper was pasted to a panel of cardboard which gave very precise target hits that were gaugable with an NRA caliber gauge. Being rather cheap I print most of my own targets on printer paper. I have the same problem though when I need precise holes or think I do. What I have found is duplicating the high-power targets in a miniature manner. I take scrap cardboard that I save that is approximately the size of one or two targets depending on the backstop. I use this fast drying paper glue that comes in tubes that look like lip gel. I put it on the targets and the cardboard press it on firmly and have beautiful precise results which display my lack of accuracy unquestionably. It does allow a much lower price for target as in this day and age I have a never ending supply of appropriately sized Amazon boxes. Hope this suggestion is some help to you as it works very well for me. John Kennedy

Somebody asked me if my rifle, shroud scope combo ever did shoot well.Yes it did 1 to 1 and a half inch groups on 110 yards, before it fell from the table to a soft outdoor wood veranda.ever since i have been paranoid over it's accuracy

hello .ive got a fx dreamline .30 , a very accurate gun, also the fwb 300 and more ,but did you shoot or try with a simple breakbarrel hw 30s .177 loaded with jsb excact express. the gun is standard about 10 joule , but very accurate up to 50 meters
