@@A_real_Wizard agreed it’s called white dragon breath for reference and I’ve used it in sorcery onlys and it isn’t that great, 2.65 times spell buff damage should be good but it feels like it does less then it says it does. However it can travel up walls whitch makes it a great spell for killing people running up ladders etc. overall still terrible spell for something you get from a late game boss soul transposition.

Cant argue with that logic, good luck on Sekiro and remember shadows can die way more then just twice.

100percent agree with you, soul stream is a really fun spell to use when you are able to cast it, but quite frankly still not that great of spell when your playing solo between casting time, fp usage, and taking up 2 attunement slots its just not good to have in your roster. (not like that stopped me from using it anyways) Something doesn't have to be good to be fun, and jolly cooperation is always encouraged in ds3.

I meannn, Dex>Sex they can try to run from the truth but it will find them eventually (insert evil laughter here) the real question is if Str>Dex then what exactly is the numerical value of dex? Now my dear student this is where you have to solve for pi, Use the quadratic formula to find the values of STR and DEX.

Yeah I can understand that, but sometimes I just don't know what to say between areas so it just gets cut out as needed.

Yeah that was something I didn't know before doing this run, ER and Ds3 are the games I have the most playtime in so I assumed that every heavy attack has a charged counterpart, so whoops, although it seems I'm not the only one who didn't know that considering your only the second person to point it out, probably a common misconception.

@BluethunderDarkSouls tbf most people started out with ds3/elden ring. And because bloodborne is playstation exclusive. Most people haven't played that. So it's a forgivable misconception. Just pointed it out because I admittedly found it amusing.

Yeah I'm prob going to do the dlc for this challenge, the magic resist on sister friede and Gael is gunna be rough though.

That's true, only problem being its so slow the fight would last way longer then I'm comfortable with, but yeah didn't factor that in and would definitely be useful in some situations. however the hardest boss in this challenge and the one I was most concerned about deacons, having fp regen wouldn't help me due to the cure ritual in second phase if I was out of fp flasks and had to solely rely on passive regen I wouldn't have enough fp to stagger the curseing deacons and would die as a result of it. But 100percent should've infused a dagger with a simple gem for the run would've given me at least 1 more flask worth of fp by the time a individual fight is over especially because a dagger doesn't weigh much.

@ if you want light weight, use a caestus that way you can parry if need be. Another thing to note is that the ticks for regen get faster the higher the weapon is upgraded, it’s something to try out and test. As for the deacons I found it much easier when using alluring skulls that way it’s less likely to get body blocked, but that requires some careful placing.

@@BluethunderDarkSouls tho the regen isn’t entirely reliably quick, it is a nice top off or last resort for when you have no ashen. But I do see your point with curse timer being a nightmare to deal with on top of the fact they can heal

Definitely, forgot that it regen scales with weapon level but even at max your looking at 25 seconds to cast 1 soul arrow, and soul arrow is cheap fp wise, while handy in a fight like deacons which took my roughly 7 minutes or longer your looking at 17 more casts of soul arrow (not bad at all) but that's the equivalent of 1 ashen estus almost every 10ish minutes. So yeah handy but crunching the numbers that's one hell of a long fight, if I used simple gem to try to beat dancer id be looking at a rough estimate of a 23 minute fight. or for deacons it would be well over a hour (if I didn't die of curse). All of this isn't to discredit the simple gem or your comment but rather to state that its not enough to overcome my mana issues on its own.

@ yea, the simple gem is great on paper but unless you’re gonna be in a fight for more than 10 minutes you might be better off using the ashen estus ring for that extra 20% recovery. There are so few options for fp recovery. The Aldrich sapphire won’t help you on this run. And yea the regen from the simple gem goes from 1 every 5 sec base level, to every 3 seconds between ticks, also having a simple weapon in each hand they stack, but that’s only practical if you have nothing left and are forced to be completely passive.

Yeah I can do that, so it would be a no healing run, bare fist only gundyr, forced to rely on normal enemies for weapon upgrades. yeah I can do that sounds like a fun run, only annoying part would be grinding enemy drops for titanite (or would cheat engine be acceptable because grinding is cringe?) Could definitely do that challenge but would love to hear your opinion on what to do regarding the grinding portion of the challenge.

@@BluethunderDarkSouls I feel like for the sake of saving time, and since drops for weapons and armor themselves are not always guaranteed, that cheat engine for upgrade materials is acceptable. :)

I could definitely do a run with those weapons, any idea for added limitations though? I feel that might be a tad easy, but easy challenges don't make them bad challenges, my charged attack only was pretty easy but it was a really fun one to do. wait what was I talking about? I guess i could do a paired weapon only challenge for ds3 that should work time to add it to my backlogs ;-).

Poise 100percent would've helped, not entirely sure how much easier it would've been but if it let me tank hits it would be nice, but I'm kind of glad I did this run without poise it allowed me to see the weaknesses of heavy attacks better poise would've taken away the biggest thing that made the challenge hard in the first place. or maybe the challenge was hard because I'm rusty af at ds1. Or perhaps the real reason was I forgot the ring existed... who knows, who knows.

I'm flabbergasted, possibly bamboozled, what do you mean lock on should be a upgrade how would that even work? or what just have lock on unlocked only at 20adp or higher XD.

@@BluethunderDarkSouls A ring. My gaming belief system demand that most useful is most expensive. That's why i love dark souls so much. Until i learned that best way to play them is do little as much possible. That why i looking for the games that explore concept of "easy way is the hardest one". Do you know any?

@danieladamczyk4024 Favorite ones has to be no talking ones, either choose half of npcs to ignore completely or go full hard mode and do no talking to any npc. no talking runs are some of the hardest runs I've tried, if sl1 is to easy for you try one of those it wont disappoint.

Yeah, its legitimately been a year-ish since I last played ds1 while Havel ring occurred to me it was only when I was in anor londo(before OnS) and at that point I've went through most of the game without it so I committed to it. As for not yoinking the firekeeper soul (yeah I normally do that as well) Or at least I used to, didn't this time, really couldn't tell you why, maybe I just passively wanted to suffer more?

Thanks, it took me awhile to edit it down but I eventually decided on what you currently see, when I said I had a lot of death footage to go through I mean it, I died way to many times, and like 70percent of that was in anor londo. While not explicitly stated, your probably right, sif is a female name in icelandic culture as well as named after a particular goddess, so the inspiration does seem to point to sif being a good girl, but regardless of the gender of sif we can all agree sif is a good dog.
