Hey, those are our local trails in Lebanon and yes we have almost all variations except desert sand which can be found in our neighboring countries. Our senior friend Paul prefers his old but new 650 for these trails over his other bikes as it's nimble. The lakes showing in this video are at about 1,000 meters in altitude I guess; nothing too serious. The trails we ride are a mixture of agricultural, military and traffickers'... You should see the video I uploaded few hours ago 🙂

@@offroad-adventures Cool, thanks! I understand Paul, the DR650 is a great bike for that kind of terrain. I would have thought the lakes were higher, looked more like 2000 m. 😅 But it always depends on the general environment - if there are no trees, it tends to look "alpine" to me... 😉 Yeah, got the notification for the new video yesterday, which actually reminded me to watch this one here, finally, haha.. Will watch the latest one asap!

Hey Dany, those trails start as low as Nahr Beirut in Metn area all the way up to Falougha then Sohha to Tarchich, Sannine, Qaa el Rim all the way to 3youn al Siman. It was an 8 hours long adventure day.

I usually prefer the KTM's engine sound over music but Eli, a 1090R rider, filmed that footage using an older GoPro that produces horrible audio.

Hey man, thanks for dropping in. The spine injury that kept me from riding for six months is still being treated at a local chiropractor; I am half way through but thanks God the pain is almost gone. All that pain taught me a valuable lesson- never quit training your muscles. I ride a 2019 ADV 790 R that is heavily modified. On our way to the trails I lost control of the front on a tight turn which resulted in me and the bike sliding for like 10 meters on the asphalt. No real injury thanks to the protection I am wearing, just a minor rib bruising. I should have paid more attention to the fact that I was still breaking in a new set of Mitas E09 Dakar tires... You are right, those things are a different story in mud!

@@offroad-adventures Yeah, so important to keep in shape! I'm totally out of shape at the moment, because the past year or so didn't go to plan in all possible ways.... I will get there again. It's not as easy as it was 20 years ago, but hey.... ;) The bike seems to handle great. What mods did you make? Obviously complete WP suspension, new rims, steering damper...? I'm currently rebuilding an MZ Baghira, that's going to be a fabulous ADV bike. Until then, I'm still in my complete stock '96 Africa Twin, haha. It's hard work. I just put on Heidenau K60 Rangers - man, they are amazing!! Had the Scouts before but no comparison! Stay safe!

@@to_boldly_roll oh man I can't even remember all the mods I put in this toy 😁 To mention few, Rapid Bike Evo ECU, Rottweiler Performance Intake System, Arrow Racing De-Cat mid-pipe, Akrapovic Titanium muffler, Scotts Damper, customized WP suspension... I am now building a custom navigation system that additionally has Tire Pressure Monitoring System and live OBD communication with the ECU. Hopefully I will have time to video-document. By the way, why don't you film your builds and adventures? Believe me it is satisfying, you should try it at least with your phone camera as a start. The MZ Baghira is a smart choice as its engine produces a noticeable amount of torque at a relatively low RPM 👍I would love to see the build and dirt action of that bike.. Take care!

@@offroad-adventures That's some quality stuff, wow. 😮 Not sure I would dare to take that machine offroad anymore, haha 😅 Yep, the Baghira is an awesome bike. The 660 engine is super reliable, low maintenance and has enough power for purposes. Stock suspension is great (Marzocchi forks and WP shock, fully adjustable). 290mm travel front and rear, around 910mm seat height. Only real negative point is the miniscule gas tank (12L). But it will do. When I got the bike, it's been standing 10+ years outside, so it's a lot of work, but it will hopefully be worth it. I do actually film most of my rides, I've got mounts on almost all helmets. But I've only got an old GoPro (Hero Session 5). It's super nice and compact, which is why I love it but it doesn't have image stabilisation, so I can only use it on the helmet. Also, like in the case of your friend Eli, the wind noise is horrifying and makes the footage basically unusable. How do you limit the wind noise, if I may ask? Are the new GoPros that good by themselves? Do you use a mic? Also, I HATE (and I mean HATE) editing and all that stuff. Really not my thing, it kind of ruins the fun I had riding... Either way, I might give it a try and see how it turns out. I don't really want to invest much in this as it's never going to be my thing really, I think.

@@to_boldly_roll in this specific video I did not use any external microphone because I was testing the new DJI Osmo Action cam. Instead, I used the built-in one and activated the noise filtering, thus the fluctuating audio levels. Based on my experience, nothing beats the mechanical wind filters. Those can be found on Amazon under the name of "Furry wind muff". For the next video I will be using the DJI Wireless Mic System; this one should be a killer.

We originally planned to play in that specific area because we know it to be an easy one. We were surprised by the changes to the trails; it was obviously messed by the heavy rain, ATVs and UTVs but luckily that did not discourage me as I had adrenaline stacking up for 6 months

it is going to be too tough on a regular 4x4 suspension unless you crawl the way through. Plus, I've never seen a car up there, I guess it is forbidden nowadays...

I told the guys we should do it uphill next time but for some reason no one seemed to be interested 😁 We still have 2 super steep uphill in the plan for the summer... Keep watching 👌
