I we were here to make money we would be in the wrong place. Out goal is to get and keep as many of the drones flying as we can. If this was sold commercially it would cost about $200 but its actually a fraction of that price.

We will be doing a video on alternatives that have the same outcome as its not cost effective for some people due to freight costs.

The bootloader gets corrupt for the video processor. This is a known issue with NAND flash when its left for a period of time. I think there is enough evidence that supports GoPro NOT bricking the drone via a firmware update. I think the fact that a few people working from their backyard were able to fix this issue shows that GoPro didnt put a lot of effort into fixing it for people.

The fix will work without these parts but you need them installed to be able to fly.

GoPro isnt going to do anything for you to fix this issue, there has already been an attempt at a class action but they were not able to find a lawyer to take it on. We are providing the next best thing, fixing the root cause of the issue. We now have a kit that you can buy that requires no soldering to fix the pairing issue. Its that or throw it in the trash.

Yeh, I have been talking with him, I think he is getting one of the Goo Karma kits for you.

It means there is an issue with the SD boot process. It could be the card, the image on it or the SD reader you soldered. make sure the resister is only between voltage and the probe. Dont have the resister between voltage and the SD card reader. If your still having issue come over to the Discord server and ask the question there.

If you want a .8mm thickness for the walls you can tweak the setting to achieve this. I think I talk about it in this video th-cam.com/video/Z3fX9yUsEZs/w-d-xo.html

A bit of both, you can just solder the three phases for the motor wires to the esc, you just need to make sure it is going to spin the correct direction. You could use some alligator clips to check it before you solder them or just solder them and swap any two if a motor is spinning the wrong way.

To clarify my problem: after drone update (camera was up to date) hero 5 stopped recognizing its own USB port. So the karma didn't see a camera and neither would a camera. After a SD card format and camera factory reset it started recognizing being plugged in to usb

That is a known issue, we did a video on it a little while back. Someone suggested that it might be related to the cameras SD card being used as a temporary location to store data during an upgrade.

Come over to the discord server and ask the question there. I would start with making sure your batteries are all charged and then check to make sure putty is configured correctly. The speed is the big one (from memory its 115200). Be precises in the description of the issue, include any errors and a screenshot always helps.

What do you mean by "the way of commerce"? I am genuinely curious. If you are implying that this is done for monetary gain, I implore you to take a look at what has been done and be honest with yourself. If you were involved in or responsible for coming up with the fix for the Karma, my hat is off to you. However, my question for you is what good is a means to repair Karmas if it is restricted to only the people with the equipment and technical knowledge and ability to perform the repair? The goal of this project is to make repair available to anyone, regardless of their background or ability. As an engineer, I take great pride in having the ability to look at a problem or process and coming up with a way to make it faster and easier. This does just that, it makes it easier and available to anyone. I hope you can appreciate that.

Hi, It's unfortunate that everyone isn't willing to do the fix for free, people expect that they get some sort of payment for their time. I do the repair for free, some do it for 20 or 30 dollars and some charge a lot more. If you go and look at the breakdown in the price on the order form you will see that Josh is basically setting it at cost price. There is no mark up for the labor that he puts into assembling the board, testing it and then sending it off. I'm sure you are aware of how many hours it would have taken in research and design. Normally a company would recoup these costs through the sale cost, but this is not the case. The price is more than if you were to go and buy all the parts and build your own. The big difference is that this board is fully functional out of the box (with none of the soldering issues we see) and it requires no soldering which means many more people can do the fix themselves. Initial feedback is very positive in relation to the success rate.

Come over to the discord server and ask your question there. from what I have seen if you cant type in Putty people have solved this by downloading Tera Term. Its another free terminal emulation software package. If you get the failed nand boot when you dont use the problem but get a blank screen when you use the probe you should check your wiring for the SD card setup. A blank screen when using the probe 99% of the time is an issue with the SD card or one of the board related to it. You should confirm that the resistor is only on the probe's power and not the SD card 's power.

@@bozmanx thank you .For the blank screen problem, the same wiring method I was able to get to the display message "arago project" at the beginning, but after many stuck in the can not enter root login there, it became a blank screen. Of course, I'll double check. Is there anything wrong.I had to fix the blank screen issue first and then download Tera Term to fix the problem of not being able to type command lines
