I used to work at a Home Depot once in the summer of 2020 and I completely hated it. A lot of my associates kept misinforming me about how to do the job that is completely different from the boring online training program I had to take, they were very rude and egotistical to work with (one of them was an ableist), I felt drained and depressed every I had to work there, and the mandatory mask mandate and heat made the experience even worse. The only reason why I kept working there for the rest of the summer is because my dad demanded that I gain more work experience even though it was my second job and I could have gotten work experience at other places.

i just walked out, manager not paying attention to the actual board and we had stacks of red tickets meaning orders that been waiting 7+ mins . i finally get put on break, i clocked out . make sure you work at a proper shack or you will be overworked!

Got hired lumber dept. I asked for part time but they have me doing back to back eight hour shifts, sometimes three days in a row of that. I hate it. Sometimes customers aren't around to assist which leaves me looking for things to do. That hard floor makes my feet hurt walking on it all day. I've been there two months. Johnstown, PA. I've called out four times already due to the long hours. Also, everyone there seems to be afraid of losing their stupid jobs. It's pervasive and thick in the air. Watched about 20 hours of training videos yet I still know basically very little of what I'm supposed to do there. Had a run in with a fellow employee who is one of my two coaches. He lost patience with me and embarrassed me. I don't care if I lose this job. I only need it for a year. If I lose it, I'll just get a different job. No big deal. And the benefits suck. So many options for medical benefits, makes my head spin so I just gave up on them. Let them keep their stupid benefits. They cost a lot. And the copays and deductibles, holy cow! And it's dangerous in there. You have forklifts and little kids all in the same place. Not good. Plus, Home Depot does not release accident data like WalMart does.
