Shotgun cabinet mounting thermalite block new build house
How to mount a shotgun cabinet to thermalite/durox thermal block in a way that’s suitable and strong. This doesn’t require chemical anchoring.
This is what to do in a new build house if you only have thermal block to fix to. Mine is in the loft but this will work anywhere.
Tools needed:
Drill
16mm drill bit
8mm drill bit
Hammer
Screwdriver
8mm Allen key
Rigifix m8 fixings used:

Ace Video Zak, exactly what I was looking for. Having recently moved to a new build from a much older "solid build" I thought I was going to struggle finding a spot to anchor my cabinet. Thanks for taking the time to make this video bud. Legend! Rigifix bolts ordered 👍

And before you all go Mounting your cabinet in the loft , most firearms officers don’t like them in the loft and it’s a fail , as if it’s difficult to get to (like a loft) the chances of you putting it away after every use is a lot lower percentage I know this for a fact before any you tube police come on as I’m in cornwalll and mine failed , Devon and Cornwall is the same offficer
Like I said it’s all down to the officer inspecting to decide wether they are happy with it or not. You could put your cabinet in another room and it fail because they officer is not happy with it being in view. Just got to pick the most sensible option for yourself
I've just had Warwickshire FEO come and practically insist on using the loft in a new build, he said hiding and disguising cabinets is a large part of security.
You all know you can lay a gun cabinet down and bolt to the flooor don’t you ?

Can you get a drill bit to fit instead of an allen key?
They supply you with an straight Allen key key drive that fits it just depends if your drill is strong enough to drive the insert in. An impact driver would make short work of it if you have one of them

After seeing this video I purchased the rigifix m8 fixing to fix 3 safes on the wall, and I must say they have done the job perfect, takes some time to drill and put the rigifix fixing into the wall, but they work and my safes are not coming of that wall..

Was you're cabinet accepted in the end? Im about to fit mine in the pantry, bolt straight into the concrete floor abd use these for the thermal wall. Thanks for the awesome 💡
Yeah mine was accepted - they just said I have to make sure I put my guns away every time even if it means waking the house up! I said my missus isn’t bothered about that aslong as they are secure

Good video m8. In my old house i had to build a wood wall and use the 2 by 4 in the cupboard and coach bolts Theres a little more to it. However it past inspection and wasn't going anywhere. When i moved, it was to house built in the 1940s it was so much easier to put the cabinet in.
Rigifix are awesome, I've put up wall mounted 65" TV's with these in soft block (dot dab walls) and they are AMAZING

richard gallagher yeah they did I cannot make any promises as every fco is different but as long as the cabinet doesn’t move when they rock it then you will be fine they don’t worry about the fixings along as it’s solid and can’t be moved. Mine is absolutely solid along with 4 m8 bolts in the floor through the boards

Andy Simpson not a problem at all I would definitely recommend the M8 ones mines still solid now - you can do it through plasterboard too you don’t need to cut it out 👍🏻
You sir are awesome! I'm in a new build and we've got that awful brick too! I'm looking to get y FAC air rifle soon and my main concern was fixing the cabinet security. That looks like a real solid job! I knew the fixings you were talking about straight away, I bought some (I think the same) for a TV mount through a dot and dab wall. Thanks for taking the time for doing this video! It was a MASSIVE help mate.

colm flaherty if you put about 6 in the wall i can’t see it being a problem make sure you get the m8 size ones I’ve hung a tv off the wall with them and that weighs about 38kg the more the stronger it will be
You need to be careful of condensation in a loft.
Also, some police don’t like them in the loft because they think after you’ve been out shooting all day you won’t bother going up the loft to lock your gun away.

appleman1979 yeah got a 55” tv on a thermalite wall with no issues only used the m6 ones for the tv and it’s very sturdy
