I think part of the problem may not have been this subject, though I fully agree that they do not understand that they should not be keeping Catholic holy days. Part of the problem that I have seen in the Messianic movement is the adhering to rabbinic teachings and traditions. I have learned that rabbinic teachings have been a problem since Jesus was rebuking those who kept them. They were being kept above the word of God. "Mark 7 [9] He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. We do not need to close ourselves in all the rabbinic traditions or apparel to keep to the word of God. I think this was part of the problem. The other- personality clashes: Most people's personalities clashing with yours. It was not easy or fun to see- particularly as a new Adventist, which I was at the time. Because of my own journey to understand where and how my Jewish Messiah fits into my. Christianity, I understand your passion for learning about this but, I do not believe that following the teachings of the rabbis and Jewish sages is of profit. These same have, for thousands of years, kept the truth of the Messiah hidden, even forbidden reading certain books to keep them from knowing the Truth. These same rabbis and sages say horrific things about the Messiah... So, why then would I want to follow anything that they say or do when they say that He was nothing but pure evil? The things they say about Him are so disturbing and disgusting. I once thought that the Messianic movement would have a complete and beautiful understanding, a deeper understanding, of the Bible and the Messiah. What I have learned is that the Messiah did not keep the traditions he spoke against. And that is what freed me from rabbinic tradition. One thing that bothers me is how much loyalty rabbis insist on having. I have not encountered one Messianic Rabbi who did not insist that they have your complete loyalty... My loyalty belongs to my God. Then why do they think that I have salvation only if I am covered under their "wing?" May God help us all in our journey as we seek Him.
