In this archery video tutorial, Mark shows you how to string your bow using a bow stringer. This is the best, safest and easiest way to put your string on a bow.
It’s critical that you know how to safely take the string on or off your bow - do it wrong and you can hurt yourself and damage your bow.
If you are storing your bow, and not using for a long time, it’s a good idea to remove your string. Why? Because if you don’t de-string your recurve bow your limbs will lose elasticity and their power will diminish over time.
In this video Mark also shows you how to set the brace height too. This will ensure your bow shoots at its best and will help you to retain your accuracy.

Very good value for that price! Great bow!
This is the best shop in the uk. Mark legend in Archery . hes made My archery go to next level He is always happy to help Keep up the good work.
what did the arrow weigh
what was the arrow weoght
Awesome, could you guys make up/supply feather fletched, take down arrows with it? Apart from it looking a great bow i really like that it seems to have large knurled bolts for the limbs so you don't need a tool to attach the limbs
How much are hour lessons for beginners adult.
Is there an updated version of this bow ?. Is it still in stock and if not what would you recommend to buy as as an alternative?. I'm thinking of visiting the shop as I'm not too far away.
Ok first of i still love my samick sage what i got from you guys, but this is what i respect about this company. I ordered the wrong type of stringer, now most shops would just take the order especially since it was far more expensive than the Avalon. So he sent me a email said he would send the right stringer and refunded the over cost, what more can you ask from an onling shop, one day ill get there lol, done all my training just didn't join the club, personal reasons. So next yer might keep looking. Any way great video, i can atest to how good these samick sage's are, and 10/10 rating for store as ive brought a couple of items and never an issue.
I still love my samick sage i got from you guy's. It was 25lb and thinking of going up to maybe 40lb, but then i have 3 takedown bows so might even try a long bow. But very much recommend this outlet, very professional and polite..
Still loving the samick sage i got from you guys, very well made bow. I like this but not sure about not being able to change lb, but i guess for me a 45lb would sit in the middle of poundage i do use. Need to get more arrows and more my fit, and some string wax. Must say i couldn't recommend this company enough, very helpful staff. Happy festive holidays ✌️🎄✨️
Do I spy a British Apollo steel bow behind you, on the wall?
With a sight, no less!
.166" id?
I bought a 35lb one and it's brilliant. Best £120 i ever spent.
Thank you very much. I have received mine today. It will be definitely my new hobby 😊
How fast is this bow? Any Chrono Data? Unstrung does it have a slight deflex on the limbs?
Jeez. So simple and straight to the point. A perfect tutorial video.
I've just ordered this bow from youre company, as a learner i chose 25lb. I'm starting my 8 week course next month, and after that may very well buy other bows, if this comes as expected i will be using this company for all my bow needs. Excesory's etc. May aim is to compete even at 52 i think i can achieve this. I hope to have a very good relationship with you're company 🙂
what draw weight would you recommend for an adult beginner 1.8m tall, 70kg? Thank you
Have one, great shooter
What arrows are best for this bow?
Bought this bow from you today. I’m a complete novice and I got full advice , patiently delivered with no pressure. The shop is well worth a visit for anyone looking to get into archery and judging by the range of stock anyone who is more experienced. Thanks to both of you.
I ordered this 50# draw weight bow after having the opportunity to test several ashs on our course. I immediately exchanged the original string for a 10-strand Whisper String from Bodnik, into which I screwed silencers (although they are actually not necessary). But the tendon stops faster and does not vibrate. On the back of the bow I sanded the edges very slightly round. I also cut a small cut-out for the base joint of the thumb, as well as the long pointed tips down to the bare minimum, so that the hand shock is felt much less due to the lighter bow ends. An excellent bow for the price, with a very high spine tolerance - arrows between 400 and 700 all come out perfectly.
Nice summary. I'm looking at either this one or the cousin "Beli". This is pretty much the same but with a different wood type... For the money, around €135,- it's a steal I guess... I'm Currently shooting the Bryon Short 45# limbs with Spine 500 31"arrows and that's a nice bow too. A bit loud though... Hoping this is much quieter.
Great vid, i am ordering mine the weekend. Thanks
Great, thanks Mark
Some good information there, think I'll have to come to the shop at some point, I'm looking for a starter/intermediate takedown.
Yhjjko
Beautiful! ❤️
Hi is the bow Fast Flight string compatible ?
Any more videos on these?
Awesome video mate. And gorgeus bow I got ptsd and anxiety so for me archery is meditation and relaxation. Ive in a bow club and loaning gear now. But am out of work so cant afford my own gear i dream of having a good recurve bow and target so i can shoot everyday would help me a lot both with the ptsd/anxiety and getting in better shape.
It's upside down in the picture. You know that , right ?
yes it's the black ridge galaxy
Simply the best ARCHERY SHOPon this planet,Dellboy
I just started using these and they are spot on and great value for my lockdown backyard shoots cheap enough not to be too arsed if my fence batters em lol hopefully will be popping into the shop now i just found ya. beltin vids
I bought one of these from Phoenix and I chuffin' love it. Really natural and controlled feeling. Crazy how cheap this thing is. Thanks Mark.
Good arrow?
How Much are those arrows mentioned in video
Also why is the "Junior Recurve" (made of wood) larger than the "wood recurve" (made of fibreglass) -.-
I'm really confused why everyone only talks about draw weight, there's never any talk about draw length.
The two topics of draw weight and length are talked about equally. However the draw length is about the archer. The draw weight is for the bow. The draw length is about anchor point to the throat of the riser.
@@aperson5994 No, bows are rated to different maximum draw lengths, many only 28", that's a property of the bow not the archer.
What weight was the arrow you were shooting?
good question, a chronograph test without knowing the arrow GPP is not very usefull..
Very beautiful recurves
its not a recurve,though, its a longbow
Hi Doug, You are correct it not a recurve. The guy who uploads our videos and creates our images has gotten that wrong. I'll tell him to change it when he gets a chance. He's just an IT guy and not that knowledgeable about archery. Best,
I want to buy this bow first. can you recommend it to me? Is good ? 35 lb will be ok? I'm physically fit .. it shoots from this hybrid bow as well as from typical recurve bow ? thank you.
Very good
Just getting into archery and looking for a good starter. I’ve been looking on your website at the Oakridge Mezzo. Any chance you plan on doing a video for it??
The Mezzo is superb. It's so light and pack a real punch. It's a great bow for shooting over long periods. We will do a video review on it soon so keep your eyes peeled
@@phoenixarcherysupplies6027 that’s great thanks. Much appreciated
@@hellalive8973 No problem. Glad we can help
How much is a start up set I am a complete beginner
Hi Linda. For a complete beginner set up you'll be looking at around £160-£200+ depending on what you go for. You'll need the following for a complete set up: Bow Set of 6 or 12 arrows Armguard Glove or tab You then might possibly want a bag to protect your gear and an arrow tube. You might also want a boss or some target too. So that's worth considering. When picking a bow we recommend coming to the shop and speaking with us, picking up our bows, and trying them out. It's critical you find a bow which comfy to shoot. All our bows have slightly different grips, handles, etc, so it's best to pick them up and find what's fits best for the unique shape of your hand.
Do you supply the equipment when you have lessons
Yes. We provide all equipment.
Superb video, cheers! Very clear and concise - just set up my first bow!
Is this the same as the Galaxy Black Ridge bow?
Hi Zephrus. I'm sorry but I've not shot the Galaxy Ridge, nor do we currently stock it, so I can't comment.
ZephrusPrime - Yes they are identical bows "Galaxy" is the trade name for Oakridge in the US market as Oakridge was a trademarked name for another company in the USA. Galaxy do seem to have a wider variety of Black Ridge style Longbows than we do unfortunately.
Greetings from Australia. Nice bow. I just bought an Oak Ridge Viridian take down recurve and awaiting delivery. I have only heard of Oak Ridge recently. What can you tell me about this company?
Hi Gilan, thanks for your kind reply. And greetings from the UK:-) Oakridge makes some excellent bows, and they're great value for money. We've sold many Oakridge's bows over the years and the folk who've bought them have been really happy with them. The Viridian is a great beginner bow. Basically, it's a Samick Sage with a different logo on. We have both the Sage and the Viridian in our shop and they look and appear identical minus the logos. Hope that helps.
@@phoenixarcherysupplies6027 Thank you, Mate. I just got it delivered and have taken it out shooting. It shoots great. Take care and all the best.
@@gilanbarona9814 im also in Australia and I ordered the galaxy black Ridge hybrid bow from the U.S which is an identical bow under a different name
