Rebuilding My Totaled Drift Car in 30 Days
มุมมอง 18Kปีที่แล้ว
Little background on this car the chassis was originally built around 2005 by a shop in Georgia named Drift Emporium. Back in the early 2000's D.E worked with famous Japanese shop SIGNAL AUTO to bring cars over for competition when formula drift first started. this car was a shop/ practice car a the time it was painted a similar green to what I've done now. I acquired this car about 4 years ago...

How come some connectors have those service loops and some dont?
Are you blocking wet or dry after primer?
Thank you finally realised what is wrong with my pedal. Do you think if the play is really bad, it could cause gears to grind when shifting up?
How much was this paint job? I've been getting quotes at 9k smh. I don't even have damage at all 😂
Nice look, what code color?
I just got a message from Mike Rowe. He wants to talk to you.
Did you use spade connectors for the sub harness to the wiper stock? Was that connector not available for purchase?
Awesome video, this is exactly what I'm trying to do. What did you have to do with the relays and wiring harness to get it to run? I looked on the forms and didn't find much.
🤤
Wont the car struggle to idle once the iacv water lines are deleted? Im in the process of simplifying the water lines too
How did you hook up the relay wires?
Good work, the rear bumper part looked like a mess
mines still on jackstands, matter of fact i was going to cut out the battery trey tommorrow lol, ive owned it since 06 though, im just glad its not rusting like these are, sad shit really...dont do it yall 😅, looks like if i really want to keep this car for a long time i got to fully rust prevent on it.
Well now I'm just depressed, like there's no chance of my car lasting despite it being a pretty clean example and garage kept
Love watching people do this twist. I tried it for about 10min and gave up! Looks awesome
ok do mine now plz. What a transformation, great work!
I fitted the Collins kit to my son's S15 about 10 years ago. I had 3 different bearing carriers. You said 100 to 200 thou bearing to finger clearance. What was the throw out length to achieve disengagement? Could you adjust the throw out length? I made my own shifter by cut and shut the aluminum frame and the universal joint assembly. Rob (Brisbane Australia)
This is awesome but way too much work someone just needs to make that little water passage housing modified and sell them just got to make a few of them one time
Well done , great to see someone with actual skills on the tube .
Been looking for these part numbers at oriellys and nothing came up ?
my "blower motor amplifier" wiich i think is called the blower motor resistor in this model "spring looking internals" had green stuff built up on a few of the springs . i scrubbed it off hopefully that was what was preventing my blower from working at full speed. gonna flush everything and replace txv and dryer pull vaccum charge her up and see if she cools better. pretty sure s13 uses different refridgerant than the s14 also just as a side note
@@anthonychristina5038 blower motor resistor is likely the issue . S13 does use r12 factory oppose to s14 r134a but you should always convert to r134 over r12 as r12 is basically obsolete and very outdated . All you do is install conversion fittings that you can source from any parts store
the lights on mine stay on no matter what... any tips? do you think im tapping into the wrong illumination wire? or ignition wire?
I'm gladn't that i watched this video, now i've found even more rust on my 13
super weird, my 240 had those same weird circle paint chips. i had to get it down to bare metal, cause they went deep
great video dude , this is what i will be doing with my s13 jz swap.
What about the water line that comes off the bottom of the turbo
What swirl pot?
I’m a 240 guy but I always wanted a fc
Damn. Nissan really made the hub bolts M12-1.25 x 36mm. You can only get 35mm bolts from the store.
hey man was wondering what you did with the clutch master cylinder? im doing the swap right now and its hitting my valve cover and it looks like yours is inside the dahs or something? TIA
Go Sr20det ❤

Hi, did you find any trouble fusing the cast knuckle with mig?
Good video. Can you send me a list of bolt size, nylon washers/metal washers (how many) I tried to turn subtles on. Didn’t work.
I am not sure how often this post is visited, but a quick question. Happen to own a 1990 240 sx se fastback with a five speed, single cam KA w sun roof, 143k, in black, with no rot. A/C works 134a conv. myself 2 years ago, cruise as well. Manual everything else. Front seat shows wear, great dash. Second owner, bought from an older man retiring. 55yrs myself but from what I am told is a higher mileage unicorn that has not been modified but for needed exhaust and adj. conventional kyb struts/shocks, BN/ bf good radial ta's on stock aluminum wheels. Daily driveable. What should I ask Cheers 🍻...
Te amo cabron
Provides interesting window into the longevity of even our newest cars. Especially considering newer car structures are both more complex, having more layers and more points of water intrusion
What’s the switch that sit where the coin tray is?
Another big thank you to add to the chorus. Filling the coolant for the first time on my SR and started dumping a bunch on the ground because of a mystery hose floating in space behind the manifold. Ended up being the throttle body hose but because of how it was routed I spent half an hour trying to find a fitting near the firewall. If I didn't find this vid i probably would have yanked the manifold to find something that didn't exist.
Where did you source out the hardware and screws for the headlight brackets? 15:11
A huge amount of work but it does make things beautiful and professional looking.
damn any cheap s13 chassis would be huge luck for me
Hey bro what foam do you use to replace the old stuff, for the exterior of the box, so it makes a good seal and such
just stumbled across your chanel absolute gem of a channel right here
picked up my 92 hatch a month ago hoping on bringing it back your videos are helping out a ton already
9:30 crazy flex but okay 😂 awesome work
Too late I have a 240 sx s14 and bitch gives me nothing but problems here and there but I love her soooooo Much❤️😩
Please make it like a Oem/stock in and out like fresh from the factory, and Please please No Fender roll and No Fender Pull, since you 240 / usdm, please make a Silvia S13 front end / jdm, and put some small wheels like 15” on it, for the Nostalgic vibes, priceless! just keep it like a daily driver, keep it up and Save and restore all Schassis, as we all know they were all beaten up so hard. ✌🏼🤓
What type of wire did you use for it whats a good submersible wire?
It's painful to think that these cars are actually far less susceptible to rust than Nissan/Datsuns made in the 70s! It's even more painful to realize that these cars were literally designed this way just Japanese culture the cars are very well-made, but they just aren't designed to last more than 15 to 20 years while still being flawless mechanically. Meanwhile contrast that to a typical American car of the era that was designed to last 20 years sitting in somebody's yard. Because you were lucky to get five years of run time out of one before it broke.
Do you still do this type of work and how much do you charge.
