BAFANG 1000W BBSHD MID DRIVE EBIKE MOTOR KIT & BATTERY 101-120 mm bottom bracket extra fat. You can go to their website directly and include the options you want.
Did you need spacers for bottom bracket? What size chain ring did you install? And what alterations to chain guard bracket did you have to make? I have two of these bikes and want to go electric on one. Thanks for info.
No spacers were required. No modifications to the chain guard but I had to change the way it was attached to the brackets by mounting it on the other side of them to push it further out from the frame. I had to add a few links to the chain to accommodate the 48t chainring.
Looks like a pretty good kit ty I just bought one of these bikes was going to go gas but after trying to peddle it I'm like nope I'll get an electric kit
I have a single speed junior occ, Its kinda rusty, and has backpedal brakes, Im thinking I wanna shove a 350w hub motor in the thing and call it a build, Not a chance I can use the pedals, But it could be a fun little toy. Micro Chopper lol.
What puller did you use for the bottom bracket? I took out the trodo elk bottom bracket but I kept a piece with 6 edges, and I can't find any tools to take it out
I agree. There are a lot of wires for this system and no place to hide them. I'm thinking about making a box to contain the wires by the front fork. I've got them routed the best I can along the frame. Any suggestions?
@@peterschmitt6088 no, I was being hard on you only because I’m jealous. I bought a pre-made ebike last year and am very disappointed, I’m going to try the shunt mod but the controller has been dipped in some gray colored wax substance and I can’t get to the part of the ESC that needs soldering. I just bought the Bafang 48V 750W BBS02B E-Bike kit for a schwinn stingray but the motor would not fit. It measured 3 inches and I needed 5. Any suggestions on which the correct one to get is?
Climbs hilly roads well. I live in a very hilly area with many road grades that are 10-15%. The three-speed hub definitely helps when hill climbing. The motor is 1000 watts so it has tremendous torque.
@@taylorbennett3572 If you order the Bafang kit, make sure you order the extension power cable to the motor as it is required since the frame is so long.
I wish mine was a factory 3-speed... fortunately I know where to get a conversion kit for a 3-speed or 5-speed hub. Does it make much of a difference changing gears? I'm actually looking toward getting this mid-motor instead of a hub motor
@@peterschmitt6088 thank you. I just finished my project, it's a red schwinn spider edition. But the magnet cable is too short. Thank you for your help.
As was explained to me by a Snap-On tool dealer, the bike design was made for Snap-On in limited quantities. They must have gotten approval from OCC to use their name. The bikes didn't sell well and I was able to purchase one for a very low price.
Which number motor and battery from Bafang for the chopper

Just ordered the kit for my OCC Chopper Bike. 1000w BBSHD

Did you have to adjust the chain guard any or did the crank fit without having to move it?
Only had to alter the chain guard brackets slightly.
are there links to everything? i have a single speed that wants electricity bad

I just used standard bottom bracket wrenches and pullers.

How do motor handle a bike without freewheel?
The Bafang extra fat kit works well with the freewheeling 3-speed hub.
How fast does it go
30 mph in 3rd gear
Clean your wires up man, it looks like my neighbors 12 year old put that together

Pretty neat. My new OCC has been sitting in my garage for years trying to figure out what to do with it.
Great kit. If you order one make sure you get the extra fat kit that will fit the 120 mm BB.

The mid-motor is great for this bike. A multi-speed hub gives you various speed and torque options.
A fixed sprocket is better for ebikes.
@@psychopete3848 The three-speed hub works very well with the mid-drive motor.
Don't bother with it. Just install the extra fat bafang kit that will fit the 120mm BB.
Nice build 😎
How did you install the magnet sensor coz my cable is too short, it won't pass the tires or rims. Thank you
I ordered an extension cable for it directly from Bafang. They have a lot of accessories and parts available.

I purchased the bike from a Snap-On tool dealer 15 years ago. This edition was made for Snap-On. I added the electric motor in 2020.
What size is the bottom bracket?

Bike was designed by Greg Blake for Schwinn. Orange County choppers had nothing to do with the builds or designs. Just used their brand name.
Gotcha. I am sure OCC got paid for the use of their name. The motor works very well on this bike and I have three-speed ranges.
