A very young Sir Anthony Hopkins stars in this horror thriller about mental illness.
Silence of the Lambs
มุมมอง 154วันที่ผ่านมา
This may be one of the most high brow horror movies of all time.
The Substance

One of the best practical effects movies I’ve seen since The Thing. This movie check all the horror boxes.
The one and only Direct Sequel we need!

Forget TCM. Forget FT13TH. No more Halloweens. This is the one we need!
Cujo
มุมมอง 266 หลายเดือนก่อน
Cujo is a solid horror movie that serves up the dread of being trapped with a killer dog.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and then The Bigfoot
I remember this movie, super creepy. The puppet's face was the scariest part. But as an adult, I have a better understanding of the psychological angles.
@@yasmin8851 a fantastic study in mental illness!
I didnt know Dickie Attenborough directed this movie. Its a delicious little supernatural thriller. An excellent cast too - especially Hopkins and Meredith.
@@MrKenny777 neither did I until I looked it up for this video. Fantastic movie!
I saw it at the theatre--it really scared me back then---maybe a bit tame for these times now.
@@oeb3847 back then they knew how to build a story with suspense and dread. Not just jump scares and crappy CGI. I’ll take Magic over anything nowadays.
@@kdk12studios40 There is one new movie that I think is terrifying---Heredity, I don't hear very much about this movie, but it's really good.
I'm the first to comment!!!!!!! Thank you for the review Caretaker Matt!!!!!
@@lamarmiles2250 always my pleasure!
I was 1 of the Military Advisers on this, We had a blast filming this in Aug 2017. Working with Sam was great souper friendly always willing to talk with crew and do photo's with fans, Aiden was great drinking with the crew and just loving it and he met his now wife on set during filming. Ron was great we had some great talks about Band of Brothers (i was in E/506th Reenacted) so i spent 1993 - 2000+ with many of the Troopers from the unit so we swapped stories about trying to out drink Wild Bill & Babe. the whole cast & crew just had fun , funny i just talked with Bob (the director/screenwriter) and his Wife the other day. He's going to be working with Sam on another film soon.
@@2104dogface I can only imagine how much fun it would be to work with Sam Elliott. He is terrific!
Great movie but bearwolf
lol I can’t argue that
"They're all beautiful and f*ck each other". Spoken like a true connoisseur of horror cinema.
Hahaha! I feel I accurately described the show 😆
The hair of the dog that bit me.
Bourbon on the rocks…
They do a good job of making you feel the heat and the claustrophobia of being in that car, make you want to drink something. You can almost smell the movie, the sweat and dog breath, the kid definitely shit himself....does that even make sense?....hahaha
Hahaha yeah he did. That house and property definitely stank. But what a great set. The cinematography is fantastic. You really feel the claustrophobic car but at the same time the expansive nothingness surrounding them.
Was just watching Silver Bullet last night. Was and will be one of my all time favorites not only for me being a kid of the eighties but Now a favorite of my son as well. So i know what you are talking about. It's the whole feeling and essence of the movie. And i agree. It's so eighties. Good job on making this video. Hopefully more of the young people of today get to appreciate this awesome and sweet movie❤
Thank you for the great comment, I totally agree. My kid loves the movie too. I’ll keep finding good horror movies to make videos on from the 80s.
October 11, 2024. Just found out today. FINALLY!
Holy shit!!!
I got to watch it!!!!!!! Loved the review.
It is a crazy movie!
Rlp
One of the greats
The movie BEAU IS AFRAID....made me feel like I just got visually/mentally molested. And I don't feel like I deserved it. 😆
I refuse to watch anymore of his movies lol
My favorite character of Christopher Lloyd's is Ignatowski from Taxi.
He is a heavy contender!
I liked it !!
Fantastic movie!
A bizarre film, for sure. It drew me in (mainly due to Sam Elliott). There are some goofy elements toward the end but the flashback bits were very interesting and even plausible. Made me think. What if? We just assume everything would change. The war would end. Everyone gathers round a fire to sing Kumbaya. Made me think a bit about Sean Connery facing off against Charles Grey... and Charles Grey... and Charles Grey in Diamonds Are Forever. Does killing one make any difference?
The idea of him being a look alike or stand in was really interesting. And Sam Elliott crushed the monologue about it not being the real Hitler.
I didn't like it, like you said....a couple good things but it was filled with Hollywood trash. I thought the TV show was better.
I need to watch the show. Heard good things.
@@kdk12studios40 it's on Hulu, with the watch...only 2 seasons
Definitely didn't do it for me.
For several reasons. All the faith that Flanagan will right the ship!
One of my all time favorite movies. I rarely see this movie reviewed, Thanks!
Thank you! This movie shows the range of Bill Paxton. So good!
Right on the money!!!!!!!!!
lol thank you!
It won't swallow ya whole. It'll spit that bit out.
hahahaha
I remember this movie. Alligator was in the sewer system of New York if I remember correctly.
It was Chicago but yes in the sewers, made huge by some growth hormones a lab was testing...
I loved this movie so much as a kid, Alligators were my favorite animal and I think I may have been the only one in my neighborhood to rent this excessively.
It is a good time! I forgot to mention ole Charlie Chezwick from Cuckoos Nest being in it lol
I must see alice cooper in this role. thanks for the heads up/
He’s not bad as Freddy’s abusive foster father. The movie itself is silly lol
@@kdk12studios40 I found a youtube clip of this. By the time Elm Street got to the sixth movie they were just running on fumes with a small budget, an unintentional comedy.
I think the comedy is pretty intentional at that point lol. The Power Glove was definitely intentionally goofy hahaha...
I'm going The Thing, when the first dog transitions.
That is a solid pick!
In the Mouth of Madness and the Thing are the creme de la creme of masterpieces. Assault on Precinct 13 might not be a masterpiece, but it set the standard for a genre that I love.
Oh, how I have missed you.
And I , you.
The Thing....my choice for winner
I concur.
I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!!!!!! And Alice Krige stays in my memory from that movie. I was only a kid when I seen it. Special place in my heart. They said it did horrible in the box office. And critics talk bad about it. But I loved it.
It is Fintastic! She also played the Borg Queen in Star Trek First Contact. Ghost Story is one of my favorite hidden gems of horror!
A millennial made that list?
Who knows lol. It’s a bullshit list claiming to be scientific. The fact that skinamarink was #3 and Smile was #5 speaks volumes to its validity.
Saw it last week…
Just got done. I thought it was great!
It’s coming to HBO Max sometime this year
That’s what I’ve heard. It should be getting a theatrical release like IT did.
It's one of my top five, it's definitely unappreciated. I met Tom Atkins and he was super cool, talked to me for about a hour at a convention, very nice guy
Very cool! I would definitely love to meet him...
I was like “Wow! This guy really looks like Ron! He even has the same name! … Oh.”
Top three in my book, so fucking good.
do you have a opinion on the Dolph Lundgren punisher movie ?
I will break you
Yeah, the 1982 version was awesome. I hope the new remake is good, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Neither are we. The prequel was a good story but the cgi did not look as good as practical effects.
Hell yeah! Nice work! I subbed
But I loved ET! 🤷🏻♀️🤣
Well, sure.. Everyone loves E.T. !
The first Nightmare wasn't funny...all the other yes I agree. Also American werewolf in London had some funny lines but it blended well with the horror.
100% agree. Especially American Werewolf!
Movies nowadays want to show you how impressive their effects are to the point where the movie is no longer scary. I agree that viewing too much of the monster is overkill and ruins the magic of what is happening.
The more you are able to see the monster, the more your brain can tell it's not real. Give me the Hitchcock treatment any day...
Run! It’s coming! Lmao! 😂
Shannon Heyman caretaker Matt that is!
😂🤣
FINALLY!!! Everything I’ve been saying for years!
