MX Creative Console: The Ultimate Setup for DaVinci Resolve 19 in late 2024
Today, we’re diving into the MX Creative Console and setting it up with DaVinci Resolve 19.
MX Creative Console: amzn.to/40fnw1P
First Thoughts on the MX Creative Console
Let’s talk tech! I’m a huge fan of the MX Creative Console, but keep in mind this is a tool I’ve been wanting for a long time as a content creator, so I’m excited about its features with just a couple of minor drawbacks.
Areas for Improvement
1. Knob Design: It would be great if the knob had a grip for easier spinning, similar to the jog wheel on the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor. Hopefully, we’ll see this in a future version.
2. Timeline Scrolling: The MX Creative Console’s wheel is impressive but can feel overly fast when scrubbing through timelines. A software update to control scroll speed would be an ideal fix.
Key Features I Love about the MX Creative Console
1. Portable Design: Small, lightweight, and fits easily into a bag.
2. Minimal Cables: Only one cable is required (USB-C), which is a welcome upgrade over older setups.
3. Good Button Quality: While they’re not as tactile as the Elgato Stream Deck, the buttons are versatile and make for a powerful macro pad, handling almost any command you need.
4. App-Specific Profiles: The console adjusts automatically, switching button functions based on the active app, which is a huge time-saver.
5. Customizable Icons: Personalizing button icons for a custom look and feel might seem small but adds a nice touch.
Final Take
The MX Creative Console is a fantastic tool for any content creator or productivity enthusiast looking to level up their workflow. Plus, it comes with up to 3 months of Adobe Creative Cloud (depending on the plan), making it a valuable addition.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, make sure you take a moment to hit the subscribe button and tick the bell icon to make sure you get the next Tutorial when its release, or not, it’s totally up to you.

Does it support the jog wheel in DaVinci?
Nope it doesn’t, that’s one of the biggest cons that you can’t jog.
@WillTalkTech that is such a shame. Do you think they do it on purpose with Davinci?
I think they was trying to get the Creative Console to market. The speed editor has a jog wheel with three modes, so I’m hopeful that Logitech, will give us a software update that allows us to be able to jog through the timeline. I would also like a little dip in the wheel like the speed editor has so it will be easier to spin the knob with one finger versus having to grab the knob and turn it. Seems simple I know, but when you’re editing a lot of videos it makes a world of difference.
thanks for easing this up for us... Wish they comes default with DaVinci Resolve.... but thanks for the help.
Your welcome. I wish it came default too especially since a lot of creators have either switch or playing with resolve on the side.
It is called "DaVinci Resolve" in the launcher app.
Okay thanks, I’m going to double check I could have over looked it, I did see DaVinci Resolve remote but I didn’t see the app.
cool stuff! My wheels somehow don't respond the same way...they don't scroll timeline or zoom in and out, just do track height :/
I had to play with mine too, I think I switch it to left and right. And to zoom in and out I switch it to alt. I also was using the mouse click at one point which is what had me stuck for a few minutes. Hope this helps.
IMO ? Skip the MX Creative Console and get the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor instead-it’s often discounted to €250-300 and comes with a full license (I got mine for €249). You already hit the nail on the head. The MX Console’s dial is overly sensitive and you can't adjust it even in the Logi app. You know why ? Because the construction is so light of the dial, that using it "normally" you always slightly move it; and you have to re-adjust the unit physically; very annoying and takes you out of the zone. Yes, the Speed Editor is a bit larger, but can be used without cables completely; more, great tacticle buttons and a great wheel; far more comfortable to use-I even bring it on trips to Japan without thinking it's too bulky. I'm also team surface pro btw. I also tested out the MX console for LR/PS and just no, it's not worth it. For me personally, a hard pass. I returned it the same day i bought it.
I couldn’t agree with you more, the problem I have with the speed editor is the keys are fixed and the only thing I like on it is the wheel and the cam buttons. Plus, with my speed editor it’s not that portable, that’s why I like MX Creative Console. Plus the Macro Pad and the ability to customize your keys to your liking, we simply can’t do that with our speed editor. With that said at my main editing desk I am using the speed editor along side my keyboard.
You can change the voice you want it in to your Siri voice
Yes, what ever your voice is your set for Siri in your system setting that’s how she will sound when you run the shortcuts.
But that’s like “Old Siri” speaking like a robot. Not naturally like she usually does.
If you recreate this same shortcut with today’s Siri, she should sound like today’s Siri with natural language.
@@WillTalkTechShe didn’t. Brand new iPhone. I had to make a setting change first.
Thanks for explaining! 👍
Your welcome, happy to help.
Bruh, don't start your video with "This is a Raspberry Pi 5" when your title is "The Ultimate SBC". I almost instantly downvoted and moved on to the next video coz the Pi5 ain't it. Luckily, I gave it another minute. Anyway, good job. That's not a bad pick. It's also worth checking out mini PCs with N100s if you don't need the GPIOs. They're cheaper than the delta 3 with a better & newer CPU + higher RAM
You’re absolutely right, I was trying to soften the blow of the Raspberry Pi 5 not being King. I’m glad you gave me a few minutes to clean it up. I’m going to have to grab the Mini PC and check it out thanks for the recommendation.
What do you use for your top down camera and what type of mount do you use?
I’m using my Sony a6400 as my top down.
@@WillTalkTech How are you mounting it?
I’m actually using a C-Stand with a sandbag on the feet so it don’t tip over. Im using ULANZI Ball Head quick release to get the camera on and off quickly.
@@WillTalkTech Thanks!
Your welcome.
These beats fit pro are trash! Never stay connected, never connect, horrible time resetting, stay connected which kills battery resulting in all of the above! Avoid these headaches at all cost!!!
Yep, that was my take on them too.
They start with zero because in computer science and programming in general, all counting lists start at zero. If you create an array (a list of values) the index to reference the first value is zero. It is true in many instances of technology and development. Physical ethernet ports linux are given a name, the first ethernet port (and sometimes only port) is eth0, for example.
Thanks, I have a lot to learn thanks for the knowledge boom keep them coming.
Another good OS for Raspberry Pi is DietPi! :D
Super clear and helpful video, thanks man!
Your welcome. Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks for these tips. I really enjoy and use Shortcuts daily. 🌟
Your welcome, shortcuts is awesome.
Thank you so much! 25 year C & C++ programmer, COBOL programmer, introduced to shortcuts when I bought my first apple product (iPhone 7). Always leery of Data Jar, seemed intimidating. This simplified it, and loved the coverage of v-card and dictionaries. Never realized how simple it is! Keep doing these fantastic videos!
You’re welcome, thank you for the kind words.

Are you talking about my facial hair lining? Seriously, I thought you clicked on the video to learn about Obsidian & Shortcuts, I guess not. I honestly didn’t think I had to worry about trolls on such a small channel. It’s cool, I guess it comes with putting myself out there, no worries. I have thick skin Bro.
Great Video, you helped me a lot!
Thanks, I’m happy it helped.
Thanks for making this video. There is not much info on iOS 18 beta shortcuts features
Your welcome, I agree it’s very difficult finding any information on Shortcuts new features on iOS 18.
Would love to see raspberry pi stuff here
That’s awesome news, I been working on a video it’s dropping this coming week.
Hey. Your videos are ever informative. 1 suggestion - show the shortcut, how it works at the beginning so the steps makes sense when you’re doing it.
Thanks. You’re the second person that said this, moving forward I’ll be sure to make sure I show case the shortcut first. Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.
Please share your thoughts and experiences with the Raspberry Pi and Unix Please please
Thanks, @SadeegSadoog you made it to the end of video and this is music to my ears I sure will.
@@WillTalkTech Man, I always enjoy your videos and of course learn a lot from them.
Thanks, that’s awesome to hear.
Disliked for the AI generated thumbnail. Do better please, take a real photo for it, you’ll build a better audience with honesty.
I didn’t realize some people viewed AI Photos as dishonest, when it’s crystal clear all my photos as of late has been AI. Thanks for the feedback, I really need to dig deeper into this because I honestly never thought someone would think the photo is click bait or dishonest when it’s representing what the video is about… Thanks again.
Some good info but think it would make more sense to show what you are trying to achieve, before showing instructions on how to do it. i.e Demo it first.
Thanks for the feedback, it’s worth trying, although I thought I did a pretty good job explaining the problem I want to solve at the start of the video. I will try it with the next few videos, who knows you might be on to something.
Yep, I was confused too, so left
Bro saw the light. A whole new world of OSes is an understatement.
Now that’s good facts!
HOW DO YOU MAKE AN AUTOMATION FOR APPLE PAY PAYMENTS TO BE LOGGED IN NUMBERS APP BY CATEGORY?
I don’t believe Apple will ever allow us to be able to do something like this with shortcuts. Apple is all about privacy, they don’t open up wallet to shortcuts with the exceptions of sending and requesting money. I use an app called YNAB for this... Even with automation, you would need to pull the email and even then it’s going to get dicey because it’s a lot of points of failure you might want to consider looking into AirTable for automating spreadsheets with something like Zapper which you could use shortcut to trigger it. Wish I could have been more helpful.
That voice isn’t Siri though
Who is it? That’s how she sound on my phone.
Just got mine, and that cage on yours is 🔥🔥🔥
That’s what’s up, you going to have to let us know how you like it. Yeah, I do prefer my camera to be in a cage, it gives you more options.
@@WillTalkTech yeah I do too! My other cams are caged but hadn’t seen one I liked for this one until now.
Now, that’s what’s up, happy I could help.
Just downloaded this. Looking forward to watching your video and making some shortcuts.
Now that’s pretty cool, if you have any question while building your shortcut let me know and I’ll help you.
This is a good solution. Another option that's easier, but costs a few bucks, is the app called ETA. You input your favorites and it gives you a constant ETA to each address.
Okay cool, I never heard of eta I’m going to have to check it out.
Does the Shuttle Pro V2 work on the latest version of macOS Sonoma? I have the Shuttle Pro V2 myself but I noticed they never updated the driver software to support Sonoma. Is that the version you're currently running in the video?
Yes, I’m currently running Sonoma. Mine hasn’t had any issue with compatibility issues, it works great. I also only use mine for editing in resolve. I’m not sure what your use case is but if it’s editing you should be good.
@@WillTalkTech you're the best, thanks for confirming this info so quickly! That's so good to hear that it's compatible with latest version. Last Q for you, I use mine for video editing as well but I'm actually using FCPX. Could you possibly check to see if it works on there as well? Not sure if you ever used that video editing software. Sorry for asking but I had downloaded the last version of macOS too soon and the software wasn't compatible with FCPX and then I had to re-download the old version for it to work, it was such a hassle to go through.
I’ll check this out for you asap. Didn’t see this comment.
Yep, mine work great in Final Cut Pro too, no issues at all.
Great work man!
Thank you.
Your audio is only coming out one speaker - - - just noticed because on my laptop that speaker is blown, so I turned it down. . . so I didn't get any audio until I turned it back up. . . just FYI for future reference.

I see you made it to the end of the video, that’s pretty cool. Thanks for kind words.
Great minimal setup! Would you please tell us how you did the widget setup with wallpaper put into the widget stacks to create the effect of the disappearing widgets.
Sure, I used an app called “ MD Blank - Blank Space Widgets” on the App Store. Once you install it if you find your having a hard time seeing it in the widget area of your phone just restart your phone.

Hi great video! I am wondering if there’s a shortcut/a way to quickly get large amounts of data from a PDF To an Excel or CSV Format..? PS. I have been trying to find a way to convert a PDF.., I did find some options, but none of them seemed to be very precise. Instead kind of haphazardly!
Thanks, great question. Let me play around with this, I will report back to you.
After playing around with this there isn’t a way to do it; however, ChatGPT can do this pretty easily. Import the PDF and ask ChatGPT to turn it into a spreadsheet or CSV file
@@WillTalkTech perfect thanks. Let me try that!
