When was it when the bar b q and sink was so important to sailing? When I sail, & also what I look for in a sail boat is its ease of operation and the response to wind and sea...not forgetting cost & safety.

Really nice boat. How strong is it? Watching some of these other production boats suffer serious structural issues. FP also had a big osmosis issue for a while.

I owned a 461. Once I put better rigging on it it and some decent batteries and a genset it was magnificent. It was really fun to sail. An Amel is bullet proof and a real off grid but not fun to sail.

Give me a Discovery 67 any day! Trash the icemaker, dishwasher, and trash compactor. Replace it with more refrigeration and freezers! When cruising, long-range, both cold and frozen food storage is critical as well as dry. If you can't make ice cubes in the frig for your Gin & Tonic (good drink), wash your own dishes, separate and manage your own trash then move back on land and hire someone to wipe your butt. Sorry, but I'm an old sailor. I don't like a master stateroom either, a terrible waste of functional space. Besides, trying to sleep on a big queen berth with the boat taking seas on a starboard tack and heeled at 30 degrees can be a bit uncomfortable, to say the least. I have a canvas naval hammock that I sleep like a baby in any seas or weather. If I'm docked at a marina, I might sleep in my single berth if I so desire. Happy sailing!
