What an amazing place to play radio! It was cool to see your setup too. My son and I were all set to do a 2m FM POTA during the sprint but we got hit with really bad thunder and lightning storms.

Looks like fun!

I knew I should have brought my 3 element yagi and radio to the campground. Good luck.

Scott, great job documenting the excellent event hosted by the Packrats. Unfortunately, I had previous plans and was out of the country at the time, so I was unable to enjoy the festivities and meet / see old friends. cool .. maybe further NORTH WEST to Potter County and the Susquahanock state forest.. HUGE 2400 ft mts and long view to the distance.. meat microwave hams there making contacts across states..neat..new activity.. I just POTA there (and most of the places you were at)..guess 2/6m harder.. i found HF amazing when up high or down in the no cell service valleys ..might have to try this VHF activity some time... good luck (kd2pwb, from Kopernik Observatory , astronomy club, ham club)

What was your vhf setup? I worked you from CT with a PAR loop and 50 watts.

Have you tried putting it on the roof? just wondering if that would impact anything

Nice activation! Though I have been hearing about Parks on the Air from my Twitter contacts for the past one year, I am yet to hear any station in my radio. Could be because of time zone difference and the only narrow Grey Line window for us to the US. So far I have worked only KE5EE super station from the US, on SSB, that too with my report as 5,5 on 20 m. 73 de Jon, VU2JO

I've been wanting to try David Douglass Memorial Park over by the ferry some time. It's in FM28, and a good water shot up to Philadelphia. I have no clue how you managed to get that mounted to the trunk. I looked at my Crosstrek and there doesn't seem to be enough surface to install an antenna mount

You have only version with 37 degree angle?

That's always the saddest day for me. Having to haul out and no sailing/boating, or just 'crashing' at the dock for a weekend until Spring comes around again. I'm working on my "downsized" boat -- moving down from a 50-foot steel schooner to a little 25-Westerly Centaur. I wish I could figure a way to change it from a "Marconi" rig with a single jib to a gaff rig with two jibs. She was a great little boat before I got the "Bigger, bigger, bigger" bug and it'll be nice to have something smaller and perfect for single-handing again. Much less of a 'production' than taking the schooner out for a day sail. Know anybody looking for a Colvin Gazelle?

Great setup, looks like it does well even below the roof line of your car

Id like to see more time spent/details given on your exact set up showing all the components of antenna, amp, transceiver, PC/logging, power supply and cabling. You can show a copy of your log if you want for your contacts. THEN we can listen to contacts you made last thing. Showing setup gives better context. Your video is way better than mine (I have zero vids!), anyway thanks for sharing!
