How to Clean your Resin Silicone Mixing Cups
มุมมอง 4.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Like most resin artists, I was using plastic cups when making my art pieces. I always felt bad about how much plastic I was using once and throwing away. I had tried silicone cups previously but hadn't found an easy way to clean them until recently. I've found this trick to be really helpful to minimize all those little resin bits that end up in your silicone cups. To purchase your own set of s...

In this video I'll show you how I use the MAS Epoxy Annie's Art Studio resin kit (flag resin system) to create my ocean letter keychains using ECOART Solutions letter mold. To make a complete set of keychains, it takes only 3 hours thanks to the fast curing time of MAS Epoxy Flag System with Medium Harder. A list of all the products I've used in this video can be found on my website along with ...

    Awesome video! I’ve been searching for exactly this. Been picking shells off the beach. As I went through then I found so many tiny ones and wanted to do exactly this, but I wasn’t exactly sure how to add the sand (mix in epoxy or pour on dry and then add epoxy).

    Hi, trying to make these but my sand keeps sinking to the bottom . How do you get it to stay mixed ?

    • @CitrusWavesArt
      @CitrusWavesArt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Elianys. Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on here in a while! Try mixing more sand in so it's a thicker consistency. You can also wait until the resin is getting close to becoming unworkable so it's thicker when you pour it. Hope that helps!

    • @CitrusWavesArt
      @CitrusWavesArt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to yes! I don't personally have any experience putting metal in resin so I would check if you need to coat them first with a polyurethane but theoretically yes you can 😄

    • @CitrusWavesArt
      @CitrusWavesArt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did the layers in 2 stages. The resin I use cures enough for a second layer in 2 hrs so I did the layer with colored resin 2 hrs after the first. I then let them cure for 24 hrs before demolding

    I was so proud of myself this week because I discovered that resin spills can be easily cleaned up with alcohol, but damn; this is *stupidly* easy! Why is it always the easiest things I can’t figger out on my own? Thanks a million for this trick; it’s cheap and easy (the best kind!), and it works 100%! (Of course, if you’re using UG resin, like I do, you can pop it under the light for a couple minutes to accomplish this trick.)

      Hahaha glad I could help! I watch a lot of shark tank and am always saying the same thing. Damn what an easy-to-use simple idea, why didn't I think of that 😅 And yes if I used UV resin that would be the dream! Beats waiting 8 hrs to cure!

    • @CitrusWavesArt

      I haven't yet bc the resin is usually cured in a circular form from the cup so would be difficult to incorporate in a piece. Would love to see someone reuse it though if you had some ideas!
