Good information to have. What all kinds of mods have you done? Do you still recommend the Roundabout?
100% recommend. It's the most stable platform boat I've been on it's fantastic for such a small platform. I actually sold the one in the videos to a friend that kept bugging to buy it and I was looking to purchase another boat so I sold it but he uses it weekly and loves it too
Brooo, that a very solid job you did on that. Makes me wanna get one to trick out like yours!!
Nice, looking forward to more videos...I have 2 ultra skiff 360 and curious how this compares.
Love your setup. I just bought a roundabout boat myself but have no idea how to rig stuff up lol. Not smart when it comes to that kinda stuff. If i bring my boat to you, and if i paid you, would you rig it up for me similar to yours? Id appreciate it.
I'm super busy at the moment but wouldn't mind helping you get some things done however I'm in NC where are you located?
I'm in wv, but I seen somewhere in the comments that you were in the Mooresville area so if you did help me get it rigged, I was gonna plan a weekend trip down there and fish lake Norman a day. Love that lake
@@devinshaw3521 yeah I am very close to Lake Norman in Troutman. What all do you plan on adding to the boat? I sold mine 2 years ago with an outboard addition on the back for a heafty profit and purchased a Tracker Boat but I absolutely loved it and once you get used to it it's the next best thing to having a big boat
I've got a brand new trolling motor I need to put on it. It's got one on it at the back but I wanna put the one I got up front like yours, plus this one has spotlock. Wanna take the trolling motor that's on it off and add an out board on back. Id like to get lights on it similar to how you had yours. I have know idea how to wire it all up lol I wanna put some electronics on it and livescope but might put that on hold at the moment, depends on how much I put into it lol. This stuff can get expensive lol
@@devinshaw3521 front mount TM is a must I did add an i5 with spot lock on it just for spot lock but I found i didn't use it all that much because you can fish all around the thing so gracefully. I did tons of research on outboards and that Suzuki 4 stroke really was the best option for the price I rode that motor for miles at a time getting to spots and it never failed and it was very quiet and not once did I run out of fuel even though I always kept one of those metal cans of fuel you can get at Lowe's as an emergency back up but the outboard made it way better. Just be ready for tons of people to wanna talk to you about it and call it a bathtub, hot tub, space ship and so on because I spent way to much time talking to people interested in what it was 😁. Drilling through 4 1/2 holes in it is the most important part to start to mount things and run wires....getting the angle just right on the TM block up front is tricky but that's probably the hardest part
Blacks built nothing
Are the hatches strong ?? I'd hate to step on it and fall through it.
I'm 200 lbs and stood on them no issues
Thanks for putting this out there. Im just now getting my Roundabout on the water and will definitely be wanting an outboard. Would love to see some videos of the performance/speed/etc with the 2.5 HP on it. Thanks agin!
With the limited bow of the boat it pushes water hard so you can expect about 4.7-5mph but it'll run for a long time on a tank
@@Kayakinbassbusta 'nother quick question: did you leave your battery in the back compartment once you mounted an outboard on it or did you move the battery to the front to balance it out? Mine was pretty back heavy with the batt and trolling motor on the back so I thought moving the battery up front with the trolling motor might help counter- balance the weight somewhat. Plus I could save on heavy duty cable if i don't have to run it all from the back.
@@robv60 I left it in the back because I had a Trolling motor mounted on the front so it offset the weight
I’m interested in seeing your upgraded transom, can you send pics?
Very nice setup I just purchased one of these water crafts. If you don't mind me asking, what is the length of your pvc for your transducer?
Dude that is sick
I sure would like to have one of these boat's, especially if I could get a good used one.
They are a great little boat
What size outboard motor you using.
2.5 Suzuki
Pretty badass. I'm looking at getting one.
It's worth it they are a blast and super stable
NAV LIGHTS ARE ON THE WRONG SIDES!!!!!! Dumb ass...
Pic is inverted dumbass
Michael, I just bought a roundabout and are waiting for it. What size pvc fits in rod holder for a transducer arm? Is it snug? I was thinking about doing that or mounting to trolling motor. Thanks
@d Mott I believe it's 1 1/4
Let me know when you want to sell your round about with all those mods on it and your trailer and I will buy it from you. and I will pay you extra to bring it up to me here in PA or I will pay U SHIP IT.to do it.
I drive a tractor trailer tanker and I have to say you backed that little trailer up very good I see guys back little trailers up like that and 90% of guys can not back something that little with out doing it 4 or 5 times>>>LOL
🤣 you are exactly right.....I fished that little boat 3-4 times a week so I got a lot of practice
Very nice mods do you work for roundabout boats.
Thanks! And, No I don't but I should!
Shoot me an email and I can send you a pic of what the new aluminum plate looks like bolted on the back. mikel_2k1@msn.com
How did you put the lights and fish finder and make the work
Anyway you could show detail on your light wiring? Nav lights and such. Thinking of buying one of these and are a newbie to wiring. Thanks!
Any updates?? How is the 1/8” aluminum transom working out?
Fishing in it daily! Aluminum worked out great totally fixed the problem
@@Kayakinbassbusta could you please make a video showing how to improve transom for outboard? Thanks
@@dmott9750 so I ordered a 2x2 sheet of 1/8 in aluminum and made sure it ran from the bolted area all the way down to the bottom of the boat then cut out a slot where the drain plug is. Doing to from top to bottom allows it to transfer all the pressure to the most ridgid points then I lined up the bolt holes and bolted the plate to the back but I used some rubber washers from lowes on the back to isolate it from some pressure and vibration....I simply cut the aluminum with a jig saw with a metal blade then used a belt sander and file to smooth the edges
@@dmott9750 the 2x2 1/8th aluminum I purchased from Amazon for like $45
@@Kayakinbassbusta you put the same plate back over the aluminum as seen in this video? Nothing under there aluminum? Just trying to see exactly how since I'm ordering one and getting an outboard. Guess you had some bolts at bottom of aluminum and sealed with marine epoxy?
Think 1/4” aluminum from top to bottom would work?
I used 1/8 www.amazon.com/dp/B0055OO2GE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_5B2QEK21T8KWDE28KVGY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1#
The roundabout boat guy told me on the phone to use starboard for back the of the transom
I tried and it didn't work
What diameter pvc fits into the holes around the edge of the boat? I finally bought mine last year, used it twice, the blew out my rotator cuff. Fishing is out for a while, but I can build all my add on stuff in the mean time...
1 1/4 pvc
@@Kayakinbassbusta awesome! Thanks for that fast response!
This is awesome mine is so basic with a transom mount trolling motor and battery powered c clamp lights
Don't be afraid to drill a few holes.....it's holding up great I fish it 2-3times a week
The bend in the transom is naturally what it does. I was the original guy who put the Xi5 on the front. I’ve never had anything mounted to the back and I still have the bow in the back. The only thing I can think of is when you store the boat upright the drain plug somehow distorts the back 🤷♂️
Great minds think alike I knew I'd front mount the motor on it the day I purchased it. Yeah it actually bends like that sadly with an outboard it puts too much thrust on it and actually pushes it against the drain plug making it hard to turn or even turn it all since I've mounted the plate I have no issues whatsoever doesn't bend at all
Thats a easy load... i purchased a jetski trailer hopefully that will work...
How did it work out?
@@Kayakinbassbusta it works out great.. I wish I had rails so it won’t float off while loading..
@@gregoryharris8477 yeah that was the good thing about the raised bunks it brought it above the water.
I would like to connect with you and send you a video of my build. I went another way with the front mount and have some video and pictures I would like to share.
Could u post some of ur build info..
Gregory Harris 12 volt minn Kota with ipilot. Aluminum framed mount to keep the motor in center. This also allows for an aluminum graph mount. 16 LED flood lights for bow fishing. Interior lighting. Running lights. Switch housing. 3 lithium phosphate batteries to cut weight and offer more ah on the troller and to also power the massive amounts of illumination.
That’s a nice setup.. @john send some pics over..
Gregory Harris I am terribly ignorant on how to do that over TH-cam.
Gregory Harris I believe I may have figured out how to do that via email ported from TH-cam. I don’t know for sure though.
Thanks brother!! I like that.. I just have to get the nerve up to drill the 4inch hole.. lol..
Yeah I was the same way trust me it's totally fine
Kayakin Bassbusta how hard was it to fish the wires from the front to the back were the battery is?
@@gregoryharris8477 not hard at all with the 4inch holes pulled them from hatch to hatch I drilled one in the right side of the battery compartment then used the water right wire grommets to feed them through
@kayakin do you have any pictures of the Quick release mount plate attached to you bow of your boat?
Send me an email and I will send pics mikel_2k1@msn.com
Would love to see you do a video on how you launch and load your roundabout from the trailer.
I'll do that next time I go out this week. It's real easy I pull it off with a rope then push it off the dock then pull it back on with a longer rope, I usually then jump in the back of the truck then walk on the front of the trailer to latch it to pull out
How much do you charge to rig out one these?? Serious inquiring
I honestly wouldn't have a clue but I can help as much as possible.
@@Kayakinbassbusta Could you please contact me on FB msgr and we could go over it? Looking to spend atleast 1000 for rigging.. John Geeze

Who's that roundabout watercrafts?
roundaboutwatercrafts.com/
I have a question. So I am working on mine directly for a bowfishing rig. I have a minnkota ipilot with 3 lithium batteries. So 91 lbs in batteries and about 50 for motor and bracket. I weigh 270-280 lbs and am thinking about adding the same motor. What do you weigh? Because if I stand at the extreme front of the boat. I can get water over the gunnel. My batteries are located one on the right one on the left and one in the battery box to offset the bow mount trolling motor.
I assume you need the batteries for the stadium lights required to bow fish? Otherwise that's total overkill for the trolling motor....I weigh about 190 and it only sits about a foot in the water and never gets close to the top side even if I stand on the edge
Kayakin Bassbusta yes. The excessive batteries is for lighting, graph, and trolling motor. I am running 16 flood lights.
I was wondering if maybe you had the trim adjustment set to the lowest level. I know the motor would be more at a slant if you were to adjust it but I was thinking that would compensate for the thrust. Let me know if you saw this or if this is correct.
It's actually on the second highest setting
Why I was asking is because I too just bought That motor for the roundabout. I haven’t got the boat yet to try it out. I am hoping that others chime in
It will flex....I adjusted the trim out because it was sending me to the moon trimmed in ......I'll have my aluminum plate tomorrow so I'll update on how it works afterwards
How did the aluminum plate work for you. I was thinking about using a cutting board
@@russelln114 it worked great, I used a cutting board at first and it flexed too much
How much would you take for this rig??
Damn awesome upgrades. Your a very handy person. I would spend hours daily on this boat.
Thanks! It's a great little boat and I've just added a 2.5hp Suzuki outboard but the motors thrust is a bit much and it pushes hard on the rear mount so I'm fabricating an aluminum mount for it...I will post an updated video after it's finished
@@Kayakinbassbusta How much would you charge to rig one out?
How much invested?
1100 boat, 860ish trolling motor motor, lights and wiring with fuse box, switch panel with volt meter and USB ports and trolling plug about another 200....now I run a Suzuki 2.5 which was 870, and humminbird Helix 7 Mega DI another 600....
Kayakin Bassbusta can you put links for all your upgrades? Also how do you feel about the two person seat upgrade for roundabout? Stability?
Looks rough
yup that's why it's in the box...still working great 3 years later
How does anchor mode work on the boat? Does it tend to spin you in circles when making the automatic adjustments, or does it do a pretty good job keeping you in one spot?
one spot I guess where it's not much mass behind the motor it holds it well....8+mph winds changes that
Not sure how to put the question. The boat being small and round. How does the foot controlled trolling motor work for you ? In other words it's not a large boat. So not as much boat to move. Is it tedious and finicky ? Does the question make sense ? LOL For instance with a hand held..You work it from 11 to 1 o'clock because boats so small..Just wondering if it's easy to be that precise with a foot controlled. I have an Ultraskiff and I am fighting wind and trying to fish, and it's not going so well LOL
I have an xi5 on it which is remote controlled and has much more variable speed settings that can hold you on spots. It's not finicky either holds the line and tracks well
I will add you have much better maneuverability with it because it can rotate 360
Hope you don't mind that I saved your video and plan to steal some of your ideas. Picking up my boat in a couple days!
yes sir! it's a fun little boat
I’m thinking of getting one here soon now I really want one. Awesome video.
What's the weight limit
674lbs
Love the set up. How bad was it fishing the wiring from one side to other. Is it hollow inside. If you would email me. I don’t get on the internet very often. My email is mac12mcqueen@gmail.com. Thank for info. Waiting for mine to be delivered
Not bad it's open on the inside it has some structural points but fairly hollow this is a great little boat
Great video! Love some of those mods. Haven't night fished on mine yet because of the light situation, but I really need to get that going. Would love to see a howto on running the wires for those lights.
cutting the holes in the hatches with the right angle attachment and hole saw on the drill did the trick to gain access to the inside I sealed them with kayak type deck lids/hatches then ran the wires into the box and fuse block
I noticed two side bars running along the top sides of the kayak. How did you mount those. I really like it.
Those are Hobie H rails And they mount using only one bolt through the bottom on each end
Looks pretty cool!
This is AWESOME! I have a roundabout and a 55lb MinnKota trolling motor. Question - with all your lights and fish finder etc how long does ur battery last while fishing? I have a size 27 battery cane used with the boat so wondering if my battery is just weak or what
Thanks! It's a lot of fun. I use a group 31 Duracell deep cycle i can run lights and fish finder and troll for 12 hours easy just mostly short burst runs on the motor fishing spot to spot
