I know I am late, but here's how I became fans of my sports teams: Philadelphia Eagles (NFL): I started following the Eagles in 2016, mostly because I was still trying to choose an NFL team. I grew up in a household full of Carolina Panthers fans, but the Eagles were the team that ultimately won me over due to their rugged, tough, aggressive style of play. Plus, Philly fans are CRAZY (and dangerous), and they don't care what other team's fans think about them. I love the Philly passion, and I wanted to be a part of that. Living in Carolina, I have never been to Philly let alone an Eagles game, but MAN I want to go see a game one day. It's on my bucket list for sure. Carolina Hurricanes (NHL): I started watching the NHL during the 2018-19 season, and that was when the Canes ended their decade of darkness (sorry Oliers fans) and made an unexpected run to the Conference Finals before getting swept by the Bruins. The Canes were my introduction to hockey, and they're my home state team, so I chose to root for them. Watching Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svecknikov, Teuvo Teravainen, Jordan Martinook, Dougie Hamilton, Brock McGinn, etc. was just so exhilarating for me to witness. Plus, Rod Brind'Amour is one of the best coaches in the league right now. I sincerely hope we win a cup with him as our coach one day. Memphis Grizzlies (NBA): This was honestly tough considering that I could never decide on an NBA team for years. I considered rooting for the Cavaliers, Hornets, and 76ers, but I decided on the Grizzlies for one reason. My family are Memphians. Both sides of my family were born and raised in or near Memphis. Plus, I've been to Memphis a BUNCH of times and have been to FedEx Forum (not for a game sadly, but still). Plus, I love the energy and young enthusiasm this team brings when they play. Off the court issues aside, Ja Morant is one of the best players in the NBA when he's healthy, and Jaren Jackson Jr is a nice compliment to Morant. Seattle Mariners (MLB): I've always had a lot of respect for the Seattle sports scene, whether it's by the Seahawks, Kraken, or even the defuncted Super Sonics, and the Mariners are no different. Plus, Cal Raleigh played high school ball near my hometown. I love him, JP Crawford, Ty France (when he was a Mariner), and of course, Julio Rodriguez. They were essentially my gateway to the MLB, so that's why I root for them, even though they are always a frustratingly mediocre baseball team almost every year.

I'm grateful and happy for this year. I did really want to win on Sunday, but it was not our time. Once we get a dominate RB, TE, and add more to the WR and LB rooms, this team can get us there. It's a relief to be talking about how we can be better after a 10 win year instead of what to do at HC or QB. Go Broncos! I Bolieve!
