    Love this!! So when you apply the root tap, and let it sit for 10 minutes you rinse it off and then apply the toner to mids and ends?? Or rinse it all together??

      No toner has to process together and rinse together, so the timing is simply for the area of the head :) and how long to let it sit according to porosity

    Girl!!!!!!!! I don’t know how in the flying f*** this video doesn’t have millions of views at this point by other stylists, like straight up, they truly have to be jealous of your success for this video to not have blown up by now, that’s how excruciatingly accurate your advice in this video is! 💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You have given SUCH AMAZING advice to your fellow stylists in this video and they are the absolute best money making tips I have EVER HEARD hands down!!! I’m not even a stylist and I can tell you this as fact, because for me personally I know that, from MY stylist, these are the qualities that I look for!! If I’m trusting them with the hair on my head, one of a woman’s most prized possessions appearance-wise, then I want to SEE AND KNOW that they care JUST AS MUCH about the hair on my head as they do about the money going into their pocket, and if I don’t see that before they commit to the service, then there won’t be a service happening to begin with!!! My happiness with my hair is their livelihood in the end after all, and it is SOOO refreshing to see a FANTASTIC stylist that has that figured out and has become so overwhelmingly successful as a result of their patience and knowledge for the profession they chose, because look at you ma, YOU MOST DEFINITELY GOT IT FIGURED OUT!!! 🤌🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼🫶🏼 THANK YOU!!!! You are really one in a million!!! I wish you lived in Cincinnati or was even remotely close to it. I’d make a 2-3 hour drive just to see you regularly, that’s how valuable you are in this industry these days!!! Don’t change!!!

    I want to do my own baby lights, and it looks like it is totally do-able as DIY. And I have a little experience doing my own hair color, and highlights, etc.... I am new to this root tapping technique. I had a quick question. Once I bleach my baby lights, and I want to tone them with a color, which I will use a level 9, can I also use that to root tap? Or should that be a different color? I am naturally dark brunette, and also covering some grays, which I did all my roots in a shade / level 5 a few days ago. Any suggestions might help with me being successful. Thanks so much in advance!!

    • @TossledHair
      @TossledHair ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats awesome! Doing your own hair can definitely be fun its just time consuming. If you want to feel the blondest then use the toner level 9 on your roots first, let it sit for 5 minutes or 10, then go with the toner all over. This will ensure the rest of your hair stays light and the roots get more color opacity. Good luck!

    I’m new to root tapping. I always want to be as blonde as possible and am wondering if I should ask my stylist for this. So a root tap isn’t using color, but toner?? Toner literally washes out of my hair in 2, if not just one wash. I have to wash my hair with purple shampoo every time I shampoo and it STILL never stays that super cool tone I’ve aspired to have for years. I’ve tried everything 😔

    • @TossledHair
      @TossledHair 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Yes so I use a Toner for the root color as well and it will last 20 washes if the stylist lets it process for the full 20-25 minutes. When you want to maintain cool blonde, you can only wash/rinse your hair in cool water, use purple shampoo only once a week and when using it you have to let it sit on for 5 minutes. the more you wash your hair throughout the week= the quicker your toner will fade. hope this helps! xo

    • @TossledHair
      @TossledHair 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Her hair is naturally textured and frizzy especially when brushed out. Typically when clients with this type of hair go lighter, it can appear damaged. Her hair was dry so i used a combination of Olaplex 2 and Biolage Acidic Milk Rinse which really smoothes down frizz and adds major shine.

    I have a client that has level 10 white ends and wants a root tap so that her roots coming through are softer and not so harsh. Would I use her natural base as a toner on the root and blend down, then tone the ends with a level 10 and clear? Or would you use the root tap technique so that the roots aren’t dragged down so much,

    • @TossledHair
      @TossledHair 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a great question Hannah! Here is how I would tackle: always tone roots 1 level lighter than their natural color to avoid "erasing" the new hair highlights. Toning 1 level lighter gives off almost a sparkle/shine at the base that blends into the lighter hair. The amount you drag your base down depends on the clients end result and their request. I like to use tap technique on brightest blondes and a smudge/melt for level 8 and darker. I would omit adding Clear to your already very shear level 10, go in full pigment for longevity. Xo 😊
