I help keyboard/piano players achieve their musical and professional goals, by sharing what I've learned from decades of experience performing in rock, pop and jazz genres, in settings ranging from small, intimate venues to large scale production shows. I do this through online community, instructional videos, and direct consultation.
New Home, New KEYBOARD (Roland Fantom FA-08)
This is an informal announcement explaining why I've been a little quiet lately and why I'm finally changing keyboards from the Roland Fantom G8 to the Fantom FA-08.

My Show at the SURF BALLROOM... Looking Like ZZ Top??
มุมมอง 1.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a "behind the scenes" look at a Halloween show I play every year at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA with my Wisconsin cover band, Boogie & the Yoyoz. This video is from our show on October 29, 2022. Featured heavily in this video is my keyboard rig setup, which is based around a single Roland Fantom G8 workstation keyboard. This keyboard is no longer new, but it is still highly effec...

FAITHFULLY Piano Tutorial & Playthrough
มุมมอง 46K2 ปีที่แล้ว
If you play keyboard in a band, or are accompanying a singer, this "Faithfully" Piano Tutorial is for you. This is one of the crowd favorites I regularly play in my Wisconsin-based cover band, Boogie & the Yoyoz. If you are looking for a transcription of this part, I don't offer one for this one - however, this is one of the few songs that the sheet music available for purchase online is actual...

Hi, great video. One question if you know, my one keyboard (korg nautilus) have depth (cm): 38.6, and another for second tier (yamaha psr sx700) have a depth (cm): 43.1 On official K&M page I found that model 18820/18810 have support depth: 34,5 cm, and second tier 18811 have support depth: 33 cm. Now Im worried, is this depth ok for my keyboards? Thnx
Unfortunately I have no experience with the second tier so I can't offer a clear answer on that. Sorry!
Mike you are teaching so awesome 😊 Thank you my music brother
Tanks for the video. Can smaller Stage Pianos like the Casio PX-S1100 also stand on it? The Casio ist only 225mm in depth and the stand where you put the piano on is said to be 345mm in depth and the rubber is only on the end. So will the Casio slide around because it will not reach the rubber?
Perfect
What tone is that?
Thank you!! 🙏
Wow , cool ! Thanks for this video , very nice voice leading ! more videos like this please, playing in a Coverband myself and sometimes wondering how to accompany the band
Super helpful. I’m using a spider pro and will have trouble finding anything that sets up and tears down more quickly.
I'm glad to learn that. Now I see why we need to learn and memorize scales.
Extremely beneficial comment and great video! Respect and thanks a lot.
Best tutorial I've ever seen...thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you
Extremely helpful video
Thanks
This working keyboard player agrees with you 100 percent! I am also a busy mom with a full time job and I would love a community where I can find resources to learn songs faster and also share resources! Let's get it going!!
you're right about the lack of resources. I'm living in Japan and I'm in a band with other Japanese people. covering Japanese songs. the one I'm playing doesn't have any sheet music/tutorials for the piano part but it has some bass/drum/guitar tutorial videos. Thankfully I'm good enough to transcribe it myself with my ear (plus the help of AI instrumental separator so I can isolate just the piano part) since I'm experienced with playing pop music due to playing in church for some years during my teenage years, but those keyboardists who mainly only have experience with classical music will really struggle if they are just starting out and have to do this particular song, I'm afraid...
Thank you!
Excelente Mike thanks
Thanks for this good advice ! I will get the 18820 with option for a 2nd keyboard
🤠 K&M worth the premium over the Gravity KSTS01B?
Great info I've been using x stands with 2 and three tiers Couple keyboards and the light board for thirty years finally revisited upgrade options I like the speed of the x stand but hit and miss about stability plus when you do a gliss you'd better hold on or the board will go flying I watched your video a I made the change First job was on a bunch of flat rocks the leveling legs shined, solid as a rock Bought the second and third tier will be getting the adapter and boom Tear down was a breeze with the folding legs Not sure how much more I want to add music stand ect Don't want an octopus but so far with just the 2nd and 3rd tiers it packed up in seconds
Awesome!
I absolutly agreeeee. That's Stand may be one of de very best and not so expensive

Thank you so much for this 💗
This tutorial is outstanding! During the 2nd verse, the left hand should be playing a synth pad:: B (2nd inversion), G, B (2nd inv), G#m, E (1st inv). However this will require that you play the "parallel 3rds" with just your right hand which is a bit trickier.
Thanks Bud!
Excellent, many thanks for this
Great job. Straight to the point I love it.❤
Thank you for this! I am going to use it with my piano students today!
Thank you for this video! And your improvised piece at the end is beautiful! :)
you missed a note at the beginning of the solo lead patch
Great video, thank you!!❤️
Key Mike - Nice video on the K&M 18810 Omega stand. What attachments do you use to hold your tablet and microphone to the stand?
Need my piano😢
Shout out to my girl kid lee for turning this into a hit ❤❤🔥🔥🔥 YHWH
Wow so cool thank you
Thank you!!!!
Unbelievably good explanation
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your work...😊
Thanks for the video. What 2 sounds are you layering for the main riff?
Loving the stability and functionality- priced less than the Gibraltar. X stands simply not stable enough- esp if you are stacking!
Thanks again bro
Also you can always turn mistakes into chromatic sequences haha
Thanks!! This helped me a lot!
Hi there - Wondered what notes are you actually playing in the percussive section of the intro? (sorry- it's going so fast, it's impossible to to register what you've actually played) many thanks
Love the way you teach! Best tutorial for this song IMHO!
