Manage Panic Attacks in Three Steps
มุมมอง 1003 ปีที่แล้ว
Panic attacks most often occur 5 hours away from a real meal. Here are the experiments we suggest people explore when looking to manage panic attacks. Step 1 is trying out a three-day protein experiment. Protein stabilizes the brain's fuel supply, so incorporating it into your diet is critical to managing panic attacks. Try eating protein (with carbs) at every meal, protein snacks between meals...

Love the continuous blood glucose monitor!!! I need to do it again soon.
I think it's important to mention the level of ketones when talking about blood glucose levels. Someone with a good amount of ketones will feel perfectly fine with a blood glucose below 70, because the brain still has plenty of fuel. I remember clearly Dr Dom D'Agostino talking about weight lifting and teaching with a blood glucose of 39, and while that is obviously an extreme example, it shows that blood glucose alone isn't the whole story when it comes to hypoglycemia. I see people all the time panicking when their blood sugar drops below 75 and mainlining glucose or sugar tablets when they are also desperate to lose weight. This is what conventional medicine recommends and obviously low glucose can be fatal for those on insulin, but the rest of us typically have some room to maneuver in this space. Dr. Bryan Walsh also has a great webinar on the different types of hypoglycemia which provides some great information.
I don't talk about ketones because I am interested in mood stabilization. When glucose gets low, adrenal is released, and this can cause mood changes. Anything below 70 mg/dl is hypoglycemia (low blood glucose). I have observed that people with anxiety, PTSD, cravings, ADHD, insomnia, depression, and fatigue all do better when glucose levels are above 70 mg/dl. Keto diets have excellent efficacy for the brain, but they have to be sustained and not everyone has the means and tools to do that. My suggestion of balance meals and snacks are for people who are just starting to recognize that diet impacts their mood.
