In 2010, Smat Prime posted a mix (The Breath Of Roaches) to the music collaboration site, www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/68186. In 2021, Cobalt Pencil found the track and was inspired to work with it. At the same time, Cobalt Pencil made a work of visual art to enter into a circus-themed competition on SketchClub. The works-in-progress provide the material for this video.

Pretty cool. I like "Llama" and "Drive" the best. Why'd you bury them in the middle?
I conceived of the album as a multi-movement piece. "Orange Overture" eases us into the listening space. The next two movements set the stage for fun and experimentation, and get the energy going. "Blue Wind" provides an early rest and a deepening of the listening space. Then, there are four driving, intense pieces -- this is the real meat of the album. Finally, "Coda" is a light finale that almost feels like the house lights have come on and the credits are rolling.

Oneohtrix Point Never? I don’t think I’ve heard of them before, but yesterday I listened to Replica, Memory Vague, and Russian Mind. There are some rich textures and a variety of interesting moments. The dreaminess and melancholia remind me of Boards Of Canada. It sounds like they frequently use a sampler. Do you use a sampler, or do you do manipulate samples “by hand” in a DAW? I use a DAW these days, it's just a lot faster workflow wise. Would you be interested in collabing on something in the near to distant future?
