There is no accuracy rate in solving crossword puzzles: it's the rate of Correctness. There were times when I could solve 10 in a row (even when all were from the NYT). So MFTS will resonate with me in significant. I will aver that I never took up a challenge in this manner. Having read this taut thriller way back in the late 1970s but having no idea the title or the author. Getting on the internet in 2010 finally, I Google using a few terms like "Zippo", "challenge", etc. and finally get my answer. As someone once said, ""Ten out of Ten' is the Only Way to Win".

I spent 6 months in LA in 1960. A friend of mine had a few Porsches. I recall we met Steve McQueen at a gas station. They were trading car parts. I believe the swap was a roll bar for a steering wheel. I shook his hand upon introduction. I don’t remember a missing finger. I should have checked his other hand. Oh well, a little too late now.

Always liked Peter Lorre; originally from Germany. On the Fred Allen show they did a comedy routine with him. He was going to be a lover boy! The only part I remember was ' ---------he's gonna break their hearts .......Peter says instead of breaking their arms'

This episode was recreated by Tarantino in the last scene of a movie called. 4 Rooms. With Bruce Willis and Tim Roth. Each "room" is a scene directed by 4 different directors. Star studded and very good.

The first time I saw this was the Tarantino's version. Still gives me the Heebie-Jeebies.
