Restore WhatsApp chat from local Backup without Google drive 2024 - Quick Guide(Android Users)
Prerequisite:- You need to have a WhatsApp chat backup file already with you , which can be found by following steps:-
1. Go to files
2. Open storage
3. Click on Android than Media
4. Search for a folder by the name :- com.whatsapp
5. Click on WhatsApp
6. In Databases you will find file by the name similar to "msgstore.db.crypt12" (or whatever number)
Note :- Latest version of Android(Above Android 9) were not allowing for local recovery of chats , so made the video

Reinstall the game to resolve the issue
I lost it in the first turn. I couldn't do it properly. Now the folder com.whatsapp is missing. Will I be able to recover?? Is there any solution?
@@aniladavid9846 Try searching it in the search bar...sometimes system hides it due to it being a system file
Can we get this data restored to different number? Or after installing whatsapp we should register with the same number to get this data?

really thank you bro for your short very helpful video but, you have to mention in description about deleting your google account first from your phone before opening the app
@@Abdelrahman_Emara Deleting Google account is only for those if they have a backup on Google account prior , but ya many had that issue I did comment on those
This worked but the restoring messages is stuck on 99% writing Finishing Up. What to do at this moment

I have not deleted the whatsapp but some storage issues it will automatically deleted the old data and backup is off upto the data deleted after that I go to the backup section firstly it shows 2 gb of backup and it will complete the backup after that I uninstalled the whatapps and i will restore the data but shows only data of 11 mb it don't show the entire data and i tried these process and all files already have i want to create again it will show like does allow already existed folder and also it the backup it shows less no of storage it will in mbs what is the process is the any process is there for to get backup the data
@@lokeshnamala4363 I think your backup file is not a newer one so you might not be able to get recent chats

My friend complained that all the message contents disappeared, she even forgot and didn't understand what she did before, I followed this method but it didn't work, when I clicked restore, all the messages still didn't come back, I tried 2x

@@athifms897 1.Did you turn off the data ? 2.Did you make the folders as mentioned in the video? If you have done these than maybe u already have a backup on Google hence only showing that option , try using a different Google account and logout your previous Google account and retry.

Not working bro. When I switch off the data and try to click on give permission or somewhere else, it shows something went wrong. Check if you have internet connection and try again

@@genekendrick679 ok so I saw this another video , I guess your WhatsApp must be updated , try cleaning your cache or your data from settings , also try forcing it stop . Hope it helps

@@Nik_0401 that's strange coz the file I used was the most recent backup, actually I never even performed any backup, still baffles me how I was able to find those backup files in my local storage when I checked, but the most recent ones weren't included 😅 Thanks once more for your feedback ❤️
hi for me also not taking the local drive for restore of backup jumping to google drive backup, i think it is phone model and android version related problem, i have tried so many times nothing doing any suggestion
@@ramkrish978 OK so I also tried again but this time I had backup already on Google, than it is not able to find that local backup To avoid this I think make an another Google account (or if u have already have one) login in your android device and logout that existing Google account and try with this method .(Do tell if this works)

It does not work for me. It looks it sees some backup file but, when restoring it, it says it cannot for some reason... And, some other times I have tried, it just forces me to connect to a gmail account.... :(((( All gone Thanks for the video
@@Ugi1973 I think you already have a backup on Google hence it will show that, (as mentioned) this is only for those who have a backup file in crypt format
@@Nik_0401 Thanks for your answer. I do not have a backup on Google, I have it locally (crypt12 and crypt14 format). So I just copied it from a HD, where I had it sored, to my mobile phone. But, no matter how many times I have tried, it has not worked for me. Finally, I gave up and I just accepted I lost everything. People from WhatsApp "support" (in quotes as it was useless for me), say maybe those database are corrupted; but they are not as I used them when I bought my last mobile phone to restore the copies at that time. Thanks anyway for the video. It may help many other people!!!
@@Nik_0401 Thanks for your comments. I do not have a backup on Google, I just have a backup I took 2 years ago locally and had it stored in an external hard drive. So I have tried many times to recover it and, though WhatsApp sees that backup (and tells me how big it is in size), after a while there is a message saying that it cannot start recovering the backup and ask me to connect to the internet (but if I connect to internet again, it asks me to connect a gmail account so, no way to leave that loop :((( Thanks anyway. It have helped some other people which is good :)

It doesn't give option to restore from local backup. I turned off wifi as u said and after few seconds turned it on like you did but post that it gave the option to restore backup from google drive and didn't try to search local backup. Since no backup was taken on google drive hence nothing got restored. Can you please help, how to make it search for local backup instead of google drive? I did the steps you said but no result.

I tried a lot as u said but it dint work for me. Followed it step by step but it just doesn't give any option to restore from local backup. Straightaway the page where we enter our name comes and post that whatsapp starts functioning with zero chat backup. Can you help?

It's not working for me, as it only shows an option for google drive...I tried all that you did.

@@Nik_0401 yes I did...that's when it showed me that there's around 2gb of worth backup available. Then I clicked on the restore option and turned the net back on. It immediately jumped back to the 'type your name' display.

@@Nik_0401 yes tried it with multiple combinations...1. turned on the internet immediately, which skips the entire process even after it found out the 2gb back-up locally. 2. Turned on the internet after sometime, which paused the backup and skipped the process automatically. This is a good method you've found (better than most of them out there) but I think the new WhatsApp versions don't support this. Plus I did read in one of WhatsApp's official page that local backup is only supported on Android 9 and below. I think the best possible solution is using a software like Mobiletrans or any others that are there. But thank you for your support. 🙂
@@anoopnair988 maybe the newer version isn't allowing that I will check , but yeah android version 9 and below weren't allowing local backup that's why I found this method , which worked for me and some others too , but still I will check .

Bro i have encryptes my file but i have the database and all can i restore it without my encryption key i forgot mine

Hey man, I followed your video, made the folders correctly, but still only got the very newer messages (like 2mb instead of the 200mb from my backup), ...when i click restore, after i turn my connection back up it only gets the newer messages. Do you have any ideas?
@@Cloudxx3 While unistalling there is an option to keep the data with some mbs shown , don't keep that data, maybe that helps

@@herdynastyforever You will be able to restore only those msgs for which your backup file is available...if after those newer messages you haven't saved or made a newer backup file , than it is impossible to get those newer msgs

@@dnaparna09 So sry to hear that but without the database file it's highly unlikely to recover your chats , there are many videos that shows that they can recover without it but I doubt they work, so sry
@@Nik_0401hey, the same thing that happened to the original commenter happened to me and i still have the same database files from before, could it work? I moved all the old database files to the new database folder but nothing changed...
