Is maple syrup an okay substitute to honey?

My biggest problem with it is I cannot get it to activate the glutens in the dough. Been trying for about 3months now and using various grain doughs but it just doesn’t give me a window pain ever unless I did a white loaf maybe. It’s getting to be incredibly frustrating as I’ve come from a normal sage stand mixer that I’ve not had an issue with at all for many years. Doesn’t seem to matter how long I mix for. I’ve now found other comments online from people who’ve had similar experiences. Did you buy your own mixer or were you given one?

My friend used her Nutra mill today, flour was too course, so she put it back in the grinder and it sprayed out the side. What did she do wrong? Her 1st time using it. (Flour is e v e r y w h e r e!!😂)

I have been making bread by hand for over 50 years. Now, I have arthritis in my wrists, making kneading painful. I am surprised how few reviewers and commenters give this as a reason for using an Ankarsrum to replace the pain of hand mixing and kneading.

Watched Ankarsrum Masterclass USA on You tube - Ashley McCord. When you turn the knob be careful not to tighten it to much.

Thanks for posting this. After researching how bad store bought bread has become we pulled our Nutrímil out of storage.

I accidentally left the hopper extension ring inside the bowl while milling my first two cups 😑 the instructions are pretty adamant about *not* doing this but I didn't realize it was in the bowl the whole time. Is this going to cause any issues?

I sold my Bosch and bought a used ankarsrum mixer a few months ago. I have to say, I think I prefer the Bosch for whole grain sourdough. Whole grain sourdough does best if it is mixed very lightly and then you do the stretch and folds. I cannot get all the wet and dry ingredients Incorporated unless I mix for a very long time with the ankarsrum roller. This in turn causes me to get a tighter crumb and not nice air holes.

This is great, thank you! I love my Ankarsrum. It was an investment but so worth it. It’s made bread making fun and easy to make lots of loaves at once.
