This looks the newer development off of Bicycle Path Rd and just north of Bicycle Path Elementary School. The houses look nice but so that you people know the real story of Long Island life, these people in those huge houses pay about $16,000 - $21,000 yearly property tax! That's why so many people flee Long Island to go to states like N. Carolina. Most of Selden is not this affluent looking. Most developments here feature much smaller and modest housing. Selden is mostly blue collar. I came to Selden in 1963 from Brooklyn. Then it was mostly wooded. Now there are no woods left. Most of Long Island is like a huge city with coast to coast houses and stores. It's truly part of the NYC megalopolis. Don't come to buy a house on Long Island unless you can pay $1,000 to $2,000 monthly property tax.
