Hi and welcome to my scale model channel!
I am from Belgium and a big fan of scale modelling since I was a child.
I started a military career in the 90's in a tanks battalion and then became a helicopter instructor and operational pilot within the Belgian Air Force.
Nearly 30 years of military career which allowed me to travel a lot but also to enrich my knowledge of military equipment and their uses, an advantage for this hobby.
I now live in Portugal ;-)
I'd like to share my passion with others ,especially those who are beginning by sharing tips and tricks with them but also with other specialists…
I hope I'll be able to inspire and help young people who want to embark on this practice. I also hope I'll discover new friends who are passionate about plastic bonding! :-)
Do not hesitate to comment, ask your questions, intervene with your own good or bad experiences, this channel wants to be as interactive as possible!
Greetings
Val

Massive 85cm foam bridge diorama!!!
Here we are... the end of this great scale modeling challenge!!!
My XPS foam bridge diorama, inspired by the original movie "Saving Private Ryan", with a scale of 1/35th, is now completed!!!
It's a great honour for me to get a small part of this outstanding movie in my house!
In this tutorial, I'll develop the main points of interest of this final chapter which are:
00:00 - Introduction
01:47 - Painting and pointing procedures
13:55 -Sandbags creation
20:50 - Tramway tracks painting
23:00 - Underwater rubbless and water effects
30:10 - Weathering procedures
This is an interesting way to discover how to use different material like XPS foam, polymer clay and epoxy resin that made part of this big construction.
Once again, I tried to have a pragmatic approach on scale modeling techniques always looking for fast, cheap and efficient techniques / products.
As from now on, I also have the opportunity to make you benefit from my partnership with interesting brands...
You can check the "Artline" epoxy resin website here and use the discount code presented in the movie to get your discount on all their excellent product range!

Hi Folks, Welcome to this tutorial dedicated to scale model buildings for dioramas. I needed a small barn for my winter diorama in which my German VOMAG 88mm FLAKBUS (Das Werk 2024) will take place, so I decided to build my own barn using different reference pictures from the internet. The scale used is 1/35th to match the VOMAG scale. Here is the navigation content... 00:00:00 - Introduction 0...

how did you make the sleeves? or did you order it somewhere?
I did everything myself. These bullets empty casings are super easy to do. Just take a brass rod of 0.3mm diameter (Albion Alloy) and cut them in.pieces of 1.5mm length. That's it. Ready to put on the diorama.😉🤙

Hi Val, that’s such an impressive piece of scratch building right there! A really thorough & well thought out video, showing all the elements needed to create such a piece. Particularly like the use of the water colour pencils, they can make such a difference with a little patience. The sandbags too look excellent, very realistic, a cool depiction of such a famous movie scene🎬 Well done again on such a great model, hoping you get plenty of well deserved views. Just subscribed too 😊👍
@Barbarossamodels thank you so much 🙏 😊 really appreciated 😉 hope all this can help the community. Glad to find you in the team. 😀 I Iike trying new stuffs and experiment...it's not always turning the right way 😁 but that's fun and always pleasant to share discoveries... 😊 😉🙏

The private ryan bike and sidecar on the bridge was an old 1950s russian denipr lookalike, which had originally been blown up in the 1979 harrison ford movie, hanover street.
Fully correct 😊😉 that being said I wasn't aware of the final story with Harrison Ford 😁😁😁🙏🤙

Seriously, just wow. I've seen a great deal of dioramas over the years but this is certainly one of the best I've seen. But what makes this video is the fact that you have explained everything. Sir, well done.
@artisticgoose2609 thank you so much for these kind words 🙏😊 I think that explanation are essential in scale modelling to share the processes correctly. There are so many variables. 😊😉🤙glad you like it 🙏🙏🙏
Very nice, capturing that scene from Saving Private Ryan well. Here is my thoughts: A diorama should preferably have all areas occupied with something according to most modellers - not necessarily models, but something that does not leave it empty. However, capturing the scene from SPR needs that empty space, so here it fits. Also, I'm not that much of a fan of that theory - make a diorama of say a tank duel in Ukraine and you WILL have a ton of empty space because most areas in Ukraine is just fields. That said, that scene from SPR was just that: a scene from a (fictional) movie. It being a movie is kind of a problem, because it is not real Therefore, to not make the impression I'm doing something historical from the war, I would have added say a film crew, someone adding fake explosions or whatever, and used a fake mock Tiger, as the one used in the film - because this scene was not real. And I honestly think that might have been a cooler diorama idea than an actual 'historical' diorama, not the least because it is very rare to see dioramas showing that kind of stuff. One could argue that most dioramas are fictional, since we don't really know much about how stuff looked, unless its built with actual photos as reference. Which is true - however, a movie scene like this one is so iconic everyone will immediately see it and go, 'oh, its from that movie' so that sets a piece like this apart from say any random diorama with a Tiger tank on it.
@Kojak0 many thanks Kojak. 🙏😊 I also thought it could be nice to get a camera team on the set. That's a point a lot of friends suggested me to do.... 😁 I might do an additional effort on that in the future 😅😅😅
