    I got the Ultra 2 and the Garmin Epix. Any reason you didn't go with the Epix?

    • @davidbraswell1481
      @davidbraswell1481 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have the AWU 1 or 2 and an Epix gen 2 pro 51mm like me you wouldn't have to ask, but Ill tell you. I love my AWU more than any watch out there as it's a smart watch and a very capable sports watch with athlytic, and work out doors app and my Epix can NOT compare as a daily driver now I know someone will say heart rate and metrics but apple with work outdoors app has more than Garmin and they are accurate because I pair a Polar h10 to both watches at the same time so..... only thing that is battery which will never bother me as I charge daily both watches if they need it or not. I love my Garmin watch also love my Garmin so much that I have a 965 and the Epix gen 2 pro 51mm because it does way more than the 965 these watches do sports tracking very well and hard to give that up but funny enough I use my Epix pro on my boat as it connects to my trolling motor and all my Garmin instruments also has an anchor drift alarm so I can stay on the tiny reefs I have found over the years fishing off the coast of Alabama and my AWU can't do that yet so I wear both watches every day all day AWU on the left wrist and My Garmin Epix pro g2 on the right wrist with some nylon straps because the straps that came with it dig into my skin. I will be upgrading every new watch for both apple and Garmin if the upgrade is worth upgrading like I didn't buy the AWU 2 just couldn't justify it yet but the 3rd version is in my sights, same goes for Garmin soon as the next big update happens Ill have it also but never anymore 965s I am still mad I bought that watch as soon as I got it I bumped into my fridge and put a scratch on it from top to bottom of the face it wasn't even 24 hours old made me sick!!! So, I'll never own another watch unless its titanium or stainless and sapphire crystal ONLY!!!! I think for 635 bucks Garmin should have put sapphire on the DAMN 965 as popular as it is!!!

      @PLANETWATERMELON 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davidbraswell1481 Okay that was the longest and most fantastic reply ever. I had the Ultra 1 which was totally not accurate even with itself. I would get different distances for the same route. So I sold it for the Garmin Epix which has been great and very accurate. I came across an Ultra recently for $640 in basically new condition so I thought I'll give it a try. And what a different experience. Totally accurate every time. And yes I agree it's just fanatic how it connects to my iPhone and Fitness app and the Health app. I have the Series 8 + cellular which I scored for $175 (no joke) and I wear the Ultra 2 for workouts. I am a running coach so I will keep the Epix as some of my clients use Garmin (most of them). I also agree I think the 965 should be $499 and the 265 should $349. Garmin seems to be pricing themselves about $100 more than they should. Probably because they know they will have their watches on sale so they mark them up. Good times!

    12:02 I grew up in Bragg Creek in the 60s and 70s. It was such an awsome place to be back then. I would ride my bike up the Elbow to go fishing and would not see anyone but a few cows, even in July. The roads were gravel. Then the government made it a park. They paved the roads over the pass into Ford Creek where we had been able to camp in August and see only the odd hunter. They replaced the single forest ranger with dozens of park wardens who made lots and lots of rules. And then they came from Calgary in their 1000s. My memories are so comforting. Thanks for sharing

    So the X-Mid 2P is listed as a 52in wide floor. Is there some room to spare after you put your 2-25in pads in there? We were looking at getting a double pad and one of them is 52in wide, wondering if it would actually work. We unfortunately can't easily set up our tent and do a measurement at home, we basically live on a hillside.

    • @tylernblaney
      @tylernblaney ปีที่แล้ว

      The X-Mid floor is 52"x92" so as long as your sleeping pad isn't outside of those measurements, it should work just fine. Both my wife and I sleep on wide (25") pads and it works perfect for us. This is the first "true" 2P tent that actually accommodates to wide pads that I know of.
