Wax Cotton Motorcycle Jacket Review - The 'Bowland' Jacket from Ghostbikes
Quick first review of the Bowland wax cotton motorcycle jacket from the 'Black' range at @GH0STBIKES
A well priced wax jacket with lots of nice features.
Fit of the jacket is true to size - I'm 5' 8" with a 39" chest and it fits me well with room enough for extra layers beneath.

Old unloved mountain bike gets some restoration love // Claud Butler Refurb
มุมมอง 1.6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I recently found this Claud Butler Ravana for free on Facebook marketplace. 'Free bike or it goes to the tip'. I hate to see bikes going to landfill when they still have life left in them, so I collected it and here's the story of its restoration. I wanted to give it a retro feel - polishing up the chrome parts and adding some tan brown accents along with new frame paint. I'm really pleased wit...
Heritage/City Bike Restoration Project
มุมมอง 2843 หลายเดือนก่อน
I found this Beth Cross Heritage town bike and it was just what my wife wanted. The plan was to tidy it up and get rid of the rust! I also bought a few new parts but my budget had to stay under £100. Not a full resto project but it's got a new lease of life and we can't wait to take it out for a ride.

Jim Boomba Boots - As good as Blundstone??
มุมมอง 5915 หลายเดือนก่อน
I picked up these Jim Boomba boots for a steal, I've worn them for 12 months and they're now my got to boots. But are they as good as a pair of Blundstone boots?
2004 Gary Fisher Tassajara // Mountain Bike Refurb Project // 3. Gear components & Brake lever clean
มุมมอง 2766 หลายเดือนก่อน
Time to clean off 20 years of road grime and grease and get them looking a little better. And any advice on how best to clean aluminium parts ready for painting would be appreciated - Plus where to source parts for Shimano brake levers!!
2004 Gary Fisher Tassajara // Mountain Bike Refurb Project // 2. The Teardown
มุมมอง 1.6K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm refurbing this 20 year old Gary Fisher Tassajara mountain bike and the first step is to strip the bike down so I can then tackle each of the components in turn. One thing I do know, is it's easier to take things apart than put them back together. Wish me luck!

Taking a friends 20 year old Gary Fisher Tassajara Mountain bike and giving it some TLC to get it looking fresh and ready for spring. I'm not an expert restorer so this will be fun. Please feel free to offer tips and advice as I'm ready to learn!

Great video, I have both and I think Jim Boomba's are excellent! Regarding hydrolysis, Jim Boomba's use a PVC sole (I think?), so this should not be a problem? But take care, Blunstone's had issues, as the soles are a rubber compound and absorb moisture, so if stored in a damp environment they can breakdown! Found that out to my cost! I now line my boots with screwed up newspaper if I store them for any period of time and keep them out of my garage - no problems since!
What material is it made from? Is the outer shower proof? With taped seams?
It’s waxed cotton so is showerproof, Not sure if the seams are taped though.
pretty friggen sweet man
Here’s the funny thing….. in the pictures (presumably supplied by on all retail websites by Black) the jacket looks much darker in colour and very cool. But during you video it looks much lighter and far less appealing!?! Perhaps Black should actually make this very cool jacket in the far better darker colour, rather than perform some trickery! 👍🏻 Thank you for the review!
Thanks for the comment. Actually my set up is slightly over exposed and you're right the jacket is actually darker than it appears here. So my fault I’m afraid.
@@Jay-Ninja Great. I may give it a try on!
@@TheGreatestBeyonder👍 - You have an XSR900? I had one lovely bikes. Currently own a Speed Twin 1200.
@@Jay-Ninja amongst a few others, yes 👍
Excited to see where you go with this Jason!
So am I!
It’s me FreddieLaw!!!!!!!!
Very funny, look forward to seeing more videos 😊
Amazing job
Thank you.🙏
Really enjoyed watching this restoration video. I especially loved your camera angles. So many videos I watch you can’t quite see what the person is doing. This was clean. Thank you. 🤩
Thank you, that's very kind.
Came here from the cafe racer FB group, and glad I did. A lovely bit of video work as well as an immensely satisfying restoration
Awesome, thank you!
But you left the dork disc on the wheel 😩
It looks fantastic- a real labour of love! ❤
It really is!
It would look great with a basket on the front - which would also be very useful for carrying your lunch to work!
Great work how long was the transformation?
Thank you. It took me about 6 weeks, squeezing in an hour or two here and there in between work, family and sleeping!!😂
It looks SO good!
Thank you so much
Looks amazing, what a transformation 😊
Thank you! 😊
Congrats on the video mate, good to see you doing well! You got a lot done in 6 minutes 😂
Thanks buddy. Slightly less daunting than a GPZ900!!
@@Jay-Ninja same but different mate, it's all nuts and bolts, just a few more of them sometimes 🤣
Great work!
@@goandcycle Thank you.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
i would have gone with disk brakes on the front
I was tempted, but was working to a budget so decided against. Maybe on the next one!
ficou top 10
Very nice. Are the tyres ‘Baldys’?
Well spotted. EBay, £30 for a pair
After all that work and awesome paint job I'd be afraid of chipping the paint now.
Now that is a proper build 😊
Where did you get the decal kit? I have a Gary Fisher Piranha I'm rebuilding this summer.
I got them off eBay. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362057574301?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=fhMjma0mQkK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=c4ALIja1SD-&var=631286754784&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
All new fittings? Love the colour. It looks banging!
I know where one of these frames has been dumped for years if anyone needs a gear hanger..
Looks amazing 😊
Great renovation, a real transformation 😊
Nice restoration. The green and brown colour scheme really works well.
The less you wear them, after your first few wears, the soles will go through hydrolisis…
They are going on today! Never knew this.
If the soles are the same rubber as Blundstone I wouldn't leave the new pair sitting waiting as they will suffer from Hydrolysis
Ooh, really. Not sure what that is or what will happen but thanks for the tip. Off to google that now.
Great project and really looking forward to seeing it progress. I am planning to refurbish a 1998 Schwinn, so this is perfect reference 👍
Thanks buddy. Hope to get it all done for spring! Thanks for watching.
Mine had a Titec Ithys Amore saddle on it .
Jay , why didn't you do a proper comprehensive stripdown as I did with my Tassajara . The bottom bracket on mine was in bad shape and not obvious until my crankset was removed . The forks also needed servicing .
I thought I’d focus on the basic strip down first - it’s easy to remove brakes and gear cables etc 😁. I’ll clean these parts up and once done tackle the cranks and forks in a separate video. Hope you’ll join for the ride!👍
The 2004 one was cobalt in colour .
This is a 2005 Taasajara . I have the 2004 one which is already refurbished . The top tubes were quite long on these .
Thanks Robert, I wondered what year it was 😁
Cool video and very nice frame. Keep up the great work! Sub from me pal 👍
Thank you. And appreciate the sub.👍
Oh wow. Such a beautiful video. I absolutely loved it 🧡🏍️
Thank you very much!
Do you still own this bike? I’m thinking of buying one and my number 1 concern is reliability. Any issues?
I'm most certainly going to buy this bike. From online forum what I can gather is that the Speed Triple is a rock solid reliable bike with a very reliable engine, one of the best in the industry. Triumphs are generally reliable from personal experience.
Hello, I have a TDM 900 2006. Can you tell me where I can buy the handlebars that you carry in your TDM? It has long been what I want to change and do not know which would be the best option. Thank you.
kanupetit Hi there, All items were purchased from ebay .co.uk - The clamps - Just type in RFX Fat Bar Fatbar Handlebar Mounting Kit 28mm YAMAHA. The bars from a UK company called Motopike.com - Hope that helps.
I too find the barbour and other waxes are too soft, I'd prefer a tougher wax. How exactly have you made the paraffin and beeswax mix? Or can I just heat up a pot of barbour or other wax and just add more beeswax to it?
Good video. Never put a waxed garmet in a washing machine Always use the brand's own wax to re-wax the jacket. You need a hairdryer, rough clth or sponge and a lot of patience to do it correctly. I own for wax jackets, have re-waxed them to perfection. Each one took three working days. Heating the wax , dabbing it onto the jacket and using a hairdryer to reheat the wax as I worked it into the jacket making sure I did not use too much wax in any area of the garment. Believe me, you cando it, but you need time. Souce. belstaff Trailmaster, Sonar Barbour and also Bedale jacket owner.
Great bike :)
