My Faux Fireplace made with only Paper, Cornstarch, Wire and of some paint
for this project I only use Paper, cornstarch, wire and paint. I want to find ways to make due with less. And since I had no glue, what a perfect opportunity to find a substitute for it. My sad fireplace was transformed with material I already had!

@janjames2120 thank you so much for watching ❤️merry Christmas 🎄
Looks great. Like an old cast iron fireplace. The fire has a vintage mache look with the blended colors. What about wrapping the bottle with dry tissue then plastic wrap before adding the mache tissue? The dry tissue would keep the plastic from sticking to the bottle. It wouldn't matter if the mache tissue stuck to the plastic wrap since it is clear and will let the light through. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
@rufferstuff9148 yes plastic wrap probably would have worked and l thought about it also, but l had decided not to use it in my kitchen anymore, which has been a challenge 😅 at times. Thank you so much as always for watching and commenting. I appreciate you very much ❤️
Clever, looks great!

@ChristenBurnes thank you so much for your kind comment! Have a lot of fun creating your own Krampus, l would love to see how it turns out. Thank you for watching and commenting ❤️
Do you like the inside of the mask with clay?
@AnonUser6309 l add the paper clay onto a face mask that is made with poster board glued in place with strips off paper and glue, the mask is fitted to the face so no need to add any paper clay on the inside but if you want to try, it would have to be super smooth because the clay is hard, so l would avoid it. I hope you get to wear a mask for Krampus day! Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️
Thanks for the quick response! I used aluminum foil like in the video, should I tape around the edges to stop the foil from coming undone when I wear it, or scratching my eyes?
@AnonUser6309 l actually had to watch the video to see how l made the mask😂because l made a second Krampus last year, so the one you made was with the aluminum foil, which l like a lot because you can achieve a good fit, so the inside also has to be covered with masking tape and if you can add paper and glue and make it very smooth that might be enough, with the mask in the video l glued some fabric over the nose and forehead to make it extra comfy, you will know where to put extra patting once you put it on. ❤
@@wickedaviary thank you so much!
This will sound silly and more than likely dumb but, how do you celebrate krampus? It's an amazing tradition and knowing now, I have german in my family, I would love to experience this. I can't wait ti make my own krampus mask and enjoy such an awesome tradition ❤❤❤❤❤
@Fallout-7614 l grew up in Switzerland, so our version of Krampus (Schmutzli) is rather tame and a lot less scary, I live in Canada now I tried to join a Krampus parade last year but it was rather sad. I would love to go to Austria and experience a true Krampus celebration one year, so l am actually a lot like you, learning new things and looking into traditions that are old and just too awesome to ignore!thanks for watching and commenting ❤️ 😀

@webuse6292 yes l love the skulls 💀 l made them long time ago, but l can't remember how l made them 🤔
Great mask and costume runway. They all look nice, but I think my favorite is the dragon. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. Thanks.

Stunning.
@Incandescentiron thank you, this mask is one of my favorites and so cheap to make😁 Thanks so much for watching and commenting ❤️
Thank you so much for the pattern and the video! I just finished the mask and oh my goodness, it looks so good! It was as easy and fast as you said, there wasn't a single moment I got "stuck" or had problems or didn't know what to do. The only small thing I changed was that I used masking tape instead of duct tape. I started with duct tape, then I got annoyed when it got stuck on my fingers and hair and what not while I pulled it off the roll and then I thought I try it with masking tape and if that wouldn't work I could still use duct tape. 😂 But it is fine, the mask is nice and firm and looks awesome. So, thanks again, and I wish you all the best! ❤ Sending greetings from Germany!
P.S.: Next thing I want to try are the adorable stars you made with paper clay. 😊
@Sandra_HereToSeeTheDuctTape oh Dankeschön, l am so happy you were able to make a plague doctor mask and congratulations for finding your own way, l remember when l made that video l thought I should use another tape since l use masking tape in just about every project. Thank you so much for watching and commenting and the Best of all making the project ❤️ 🥳🎃😃
@@wickedaviary @wickedaviary Aww, thanks for replying! I'll let you know when I have done more of your tutorials as you've so so many great looking projects (I not only like the projects but also the way you present the videos - you are funny and pleasant 😊). The stars I want to make soon, the rest might take a little while, but I'm definitely going to watch all videos you'll put out, so no doubt you'll see me again in the comments (that sounds like a threat but I mean it in a nice way 😂). Have a nice weekend! 💗
@Sandra_HereToSeeTheDuctTape looking forward to reading all your comments 😀 also if you want me to make a particular project, let me know, l am always open to suggestions!
I got a problem, I don't have masking tape what can I use to improvise?
@Keagan_Naudé hmm, you can try regular tape but it is not as secure as masking tape. Once the paper gets wet when adding glue regular tape might not hold it underneath, if you have duct take, that would work great. But if you want to give it a go with whatever tape you have, but it is a gamble l would not take, good luck to you, let me know how it went.
@Keagan_Naudé oh l also want to add to my answer earlier, masking tape is available in hardware stores or wherever paint is sold.
You have talent, keep it up!
@almenesalinas216 thank you ❤️l will 🎃
Amazing! Thanks so much for sharing your technique. I've had in mind a plague mask for an 18" doll (American Girl), working it out in my mind how it would come together. Now I can just downsize your instructions and I think I can make it happen. Likely a next year project, though. :(
@sheilaguthrie4525 oh that's awesome, l made that mask small for the plague doctors crow, turned out great. I hope you get around to making it next Halloween 🎃
Great tutorial! Really appreciate how you persevere and re-plan when things don't go as planned, really helpful for people just getting started!

@FIZZGIG-RARF oh thank you so much for commenting on the Valkyrie mask, l loved that project so much, but not many views...so you loving it makes me very happy!😃🤗
These are amazing!! Just adding a few more paper feathers and they would look really close-up too! These are way better than the store-bought!!❤❤❤
@FIZZGIG-RARF thank you, yes there is a lot more detail work that could be done. I will be making a crow with moving wings (l hope🤔😅) and with that one l will go all out. Thank you so much for watching and commenting ❤️
real nice tutorial, was a fun project but i was happy when i was over with it :D took me around 3-4 hours for everything, drying and figuring out what works best pattern is real good and i got a lot of compliments for the mask! cut some big holes in the bottom and small ones on top where the nostrils from a crow would be, still looks very good then and the glasses dont fog up anymore
I am glad you got it to work, I had no problem with foggy glasses, maybe the bottom part of mine was more open? but good for you figuring out the nose vent. Thank you for watching and for making the mask! So awesome...great times..happy halloween.
Hi and thanks for your amazing creation and video tutorials. I was wondering if it fine to use matte black spray paint for the final colouring. Thanks for your answer.

nice mask
Hiya! I’m stuck at the beginning where you tape the lower part to the upper one. The lower part doesn’t fit to the upper beak, and when I try to tape it on (either on top of the upper part or with a space between the two) it won’t flip inwards. I literally have no idea how you made it work!
@SiriAnnePedersen hello, are you stuck with the paper pattern? Follow the pattern markings and use cardboard like a poster board or cereal material only, so it will bend on all direction, l hope this helps.
@@wickedaviaryThanks for your answer, and sorry that it took me so long to respond! I am using a cereal box to make the mask, so the material isn’t a problem. The cardboard itself bends easily, it’s just that I don’t really understand how to attach the lower beak to the upper beak, if that makes sense? I have used the paper pattern to cut out the cardboard but it seems like the two parts don’t fit together. Maybe I just should try to force them to bend to my will..!
I went back to my video and had to see how l showed the process of putting the pattern together, l do not show the side part long enough, sorry about that, you can watch the gilded plague doctor video where l use the same pattern, time stamp 5:50 l attache the side there, you do have to force it a bit but should not be a struggle, but watch the gilded plague doctor, let me know how it goes. And sorry for late reply, just got up, l live on the west coast 😊
@@wickedaviary Thank you so much, now I understand how to attach it! I am so grateful for you help and your quick replies, it’s really kind of you😊
