yep, like smudgey1 stated. thanks for posting this video
Do you run the macerator during the pump out process or not?
Can you tell me please how to configure the hoses for using the on board Edison pump to pump out the holding tank? Instead of using the dock pump?
Easier and faster to just discharge it off shore like everyone else does.

Were these questions on the test as well?
Nice review of the video, thanks!
How do you get a boat day God bites of the kid so somebody else drives a boat and a beer the boat goes42
So the Presenter has a lifejacket but the person throwing the life buoy does not wear one.
Took the exam last night. Got a 90. Most of it is just common sense.
Great prep video. I took my test today and watched this an hour before and nailed the exam.
Heck yea bro
Very nice video captain
Solid Business! Did he say it is all free. How does keep his boat running.
Excellent explanation!
This review is the shit, got a 98
Helped a ton! Thank you!
Bro lmao what? These people have clearly never had to make a real rescue, her voice shaking just treading water. Im weak😂😂
Great info/video, you didn’t talk about macerators, do you turn on the macerator in your boat while the boat is being pumped out? Shut macerator off when the tank is empty? And did you use a macerator in your boat? 👍🏼👍🏼
The pipe that he connects to, is the siphon tube for the holding tank. There's an onboard pump (not a macerator) that he only uses to put fresh water into the holding tank. There's a way to use the onboard pump to unload the holding tank. But the instructions in the boat aren't very clear.
you didn’t talk about macerator do you turn on the macerator in your boat while the boat is being pumped out shut it off when the tank is empty? And did you use a macerator in your boat?
Good grief. People>property. Get the people off and safe and THEN deal with the boat.
it was a practice exercise
Epic waste of time.
Great course and video helped. Capt Bob was a great instructor and teaches the course in a manner that is easy to follow and keeps it interesting.
Thank you. I do have one question regarding where the rescue boats front line attaches to the flipped boat. The rear line of the rescue boat is attached to the flipped boat’s stern cleat closest to the rescue boat, but where does the from line from the rescue boat get attached? To the flipped boat’s front cleat closest to the rescue boat? Or is it attached to the flipped boat’s front eye? Or, does it not matter since the rescue boats front line is only for pulling the flipped boat? Again, thank you for the informative video. I can’t believe there have not been any comments on this video since it was posted, over 5 years ago.
Boo eee??? 😂
Very nice setup and video
Really helpful. Hope I never need to know this!
Captain Bob is the homie! Had the pleasure of meeting him today for my exam. Great vid Cap Bob!
Thank you Captain Bob!
2 days ago when I got caught in a rip current in a rough sea with powerful waves- and was unable to swim to a nearby jetty due to the force of the current - a man spotted me and threw the ring buoy towards me keeping hold of the rope , and once I grabbed hold of it - he dragged me alongside the pier to a metal ladder that enable me to get out
I bet he used to wear rubber gloves at the least when he was just learning, geesh
Anyone have the answers ? For ct boating license?
Is there a formula that will help me figure out what size boat? I need based on the weight of the people? I'm 275 and my partner is 220. With little gear. Maybe 50 pounds.
The video has no sound. :(
Again why don’t somebody set up a test to find out if this actually works I have a sneaking suspicion that if your bilge is full of gas and you backfire your light and the gas on fire if you have a spark come out of your alternator you’re lighting it on fire I have a sneaking suspicion these cheap window screen flame arrestor‘s are not gonna work I wonder if that’s why everybody’s afraid to test
It's more about mitigating as much risk as possible. It is impossible to get rid of all risk.
The boat safe us course was very informative and captain Bobs review was very helpful in preparing for Exam.
How much does the holding tank of the service boat hold?
VEry helpful
Taking the exam tomorrow! I’ll keep y’all updated
Took the test today with my Wife at the Woodbridge location. Unfortunately Captain Bob wasn’t there but we did get the chance to meet his Son Captain Nick who proctored! This excellent review video is a must watch before the exam.
Hey Captain Bob, when you are trying to quote things with your hands, you are just throwing up peace signs. Does this have a deeper meaning, do you really like President Nixon, or do you have trouble doing the quotes with your hands? Hopefully answering this will help me on my exam this week.
Just got back from the exam and pretty much everything Captain mentions in this video is on the exam. Great study video!
Did you have to take the exam in your car?
@@MrRiverBeaver Yes, took it in Toms River in the Elks parking lot. Pulled up and they give you the packet and then you pull around to a parking spot and take the exam.
Thanks! I guess it is harder without the floating jacket...
Just took my exam today and passed thanks😎
Thank you Bob, very well put together video and easy to follow
