is catch and release legal? here in Ontario most of the carp are invasive
Sure is. Common carp are naturalized they have been in Canada and Ontario since the late 1800s early 1900s introduced as a food source. The carp you are thinking of are grass carp, silver carp, bighead carp and black carp that we do not want in our bodies of water.

I caught two nice ones this year in August. Then I didn't have much time for fishing. Do you guys fish for carp at this time of year?
Yep many of our members are out well into winter and through out and still catch. Location and baiting is key.
I have caught two nice carp this year, both on Toronto's waterfront. One was 20 pounder and the other was 25. I saw bigger ones though, so I'm going back.

The biggest common from Canada is 52.04 in 1996...but I know there is bigger ones around...good luck out there!
I bet. I remember being in Muscote Bay during spawning season. There were vast numbers of carp but one really stood out. It was a large female (presumably) being pursued by a half dozen males. They were big carp and they were dwarfed by the female.

Just an idea and as a member, I think making UK people join our tournaments shouldn’t be allowed, they got Bigger fish up there lol…..
Yes, they do have big fish, but it takes quite a while to track down those big ones. With the combined weight of the top 4 fish, we definitely have the numbers advantage on shorter sessions.
