Over the past few months Jess and I have been practicing hoof lifting, shoulders over, haunches over, backing up and general manners. However, since my new boy Prince arrived in July, I have had less time with Jess. It is now time to try new games with the round pen. Unfortunately, Jess has developed stiff Stifle joints in both hind legs, so I'm hoping exercises outdoors will help with this condition. I also do physiotherapy with her every day. In the past few weeks she has been pining her ears and nipping. Both behaviours are a sign of tension and frustration. Again, the training outside should help relax her and connect us better.
Having said that, she was very excited during this first session because her three friends were running up and down behind the hedge.
