That was alot of fun! Can't wait for next year!
Great video! Any chance you have a gps file from this race?
@@brianglass6668 Thanks man! And sorry, I don't.
All that dust at the start looks to be good motivation for getting to the front. Doubt I would repeat the experience if I was somehow unable to.
Didn’t realize we were all suppose to cut that hill climb in half after the first race that saved a significant amount of time off each lap. Good riding I was on you for a while but I kept going up over the top of that hill making me drop back slowly from you! Then last lap sent her a bit too hard into the log crossings entering the back side broke my rear brake lever
@@509FUN Yeah that was a bit "grey", we'll call it, lol, during the first moto. We did ask about just needing to go to the end of the ribbon vs all the way up on the trail, and the answer was a little vague. They did move the ribbon down to just turn halfway at the beginning of the second moto, but I'm guessing it got blown out pretty quickly. Bummer you ended up running the full hill the whole time. Good riding though! 👍 Sucks about the brake lever; that's always a bummer.
@@wallyjoiner45 hopefully I’ll be at the race in clarkia in 2 weeks hopefully we’ll see you there you were ripping it up at hidden thorn
@@509FUN 👍👍 I'd like to do that one also, but I'm potentially doing a couple Canadian races on the weekends surrounding it, so we'll see if the bank account and bike repairs allow. Haha! Maybe see you there! 👍
Some of us MT boys would like to come do the relay race this year. How did you guys do your light setup for the laps at night?
@@levispecht360 Thanks for watching man, sent you a DM on Instagram. 👍
That looks like an amazing course and some cool looking country.
Yeah it was a lot of fun, and really cool country.
blurrrrrrrrrrrr...seriously another level
Thanks man! 🤙
Nice ride
Thanks! 👍
Sweet riding 👍
Thanks!
Way faster than me! Great race!🤘
Thanks! 👍
How long is this race, im thinking about doin it
I can't remember exactly how long it was. I want to say around 70 miles. I think there were 6 special tests.
I was the guy in the blue sweatshirt
Nice! Got some good footage of you! Also, your bike is loud. Haha! Good riding. 👍
Why did you stop and get off blue Sweatshirt guy🤔
@@DUCEBSTR2 He slightly missed a corner and had to back up.
Still fast buddy! Love watching these.
Thanks man!
Good job Kyle. Lots of good times had up there.
Absolutely!
Nice job man! Brings back memories!
Thanks!
I can't help it - this perspective on that orange fender is frickn funny as hell.
Is it a hard race or entry level race ?
It isn't super difficult. As far as Hare Scrambles races go, it is a little more difficult than most, but nothing crazy. The difficulty level really depends on the conditions. If it is really muddy, it can get pretty difficult due to deep ruts and slick roots. If it's dry, it is substantially easier.
@@wallyjoiner45 ya I’m looking at racing it this coming year for my first race thank you
You know where they had posted flyer for this race? I never seen anything online till after race. Definitely want to do next year
They posted it on Facebook just a couple weeks ago. They plan on having it on October 5th next year. It is usually posted on the Orofino Motorcycle Club Facebook page, but I don't know if that page is up anymore. They should have it posted a lot earlier next year. I usually share it on Facebook as well when they post it if you're on there and want to shoot me a friend request.
@@wallyjoiner45 aw gotcha, October would be cool then can do cowboy cross also.ya the Orofino page is gone was trying to find it for updates back on johnsmill xc info. I'll friend request
Nice ride!! Question, what's the typical length of timed sections? Also, do they ever start with a timed section vs transfer? Thanks man. Webfoot 2023!!
Hey, just saw this comment and realized I never answered. Sorry! Really depends on the Enduro. This one had tests that were anywhere from 6 min to 20 min times. All of them were within the sections. I've only ever done one Enduro that had tests at the start of the sections. That was a National Enduro many years ago. 🤙
great ride! do you have a gps track by chance? I would like to try some of those new trails!
Thanks man! And sorry, I don't have any tracks.
Ill take mud over dust anyday, was sketchy trying to keep pace when couldnt see trail.
Dude the bell on Dash or the dog tags clanking what ever it is Ugh. And yes Im sure Dash is a pure bread good boy, but Ugh, maybe its just me. LOL
Lol. Never even noticed that until you said something, but watched it back again, and you're right, his tags are a bit annoying. 😂
You did great man..those guys have all the advantage when it's sloppy on those 4 strokes ..
Thanks man. 👍 I find that 2 strokes have bit of an advantage in deep mud when you need a lot of RPMs to power through stuff, but the 4 strokes are better in the slick stuff. There was a little of both in this one. I think it's mostly the 34 years and 7 motorcycle related joint surgeries that makes me back off in the fast slick stuff. 😂
Great riding. Your good. .how old are you and what kinda bike is that?..
Thanks man! I'm 34, and it's a Beta 300. 👍
Great riding dude!! I don't know how you process all the info so fast, but you did a great job. My video looks like slow motion compared...🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing the video!!👍
Thanks! It was my first time racing this one. Good times!
Lost my front break halfway through the first lap😂 still sent it!
Great riding Kyle. Sounds like you are running a smaller engine these days. 200??
Still a 300. It does sound a little zingy in this video though.

Great ride! Sure enjoy your videos.
Thanks John! 👍
Made it look easy 👍🏼
Awesome video! Do you know if they are doing the johnson mill xc race this year? I haven't seen anything for it yet.
I've been told May 7th, but haven't seen an official post from the club yet.
They just posted that it is moved back to Memorial Day weekend. 👍
You passed me at 13:46, you also might have been behind me in those rocky canyons on the second loop. I was the guy that looked like a total squid going through that stuff 🤦♂️ also props to you for stopping and helping that guy on the kawi! (If that was you)
Yeah I remember going back and forth with you! Good times! You guys were killing me in the rough fast stuff, I was lucky there were some rocks for me to catch you in. Haha! That was me with the Kawi guy. Broken lower leg. Heard he ended up getting a chopper ride.
@@wallyjoiner45 I was the ham radio operator that had to call in for the chopper for the guy with the broken leg! If you happen to have his plate number, I'd love to look up his name and find out how he's doing! Great job on the race and for being a good human and helping him!
@@scotts3039 I don't have any of his info unfortunately. Wish I had got it, I'd like to know as well.
How does this tire compare to the ibex?
Overall, I would say that the VE33s gives up a little bit of initial traction performance to the Ibex in exchange for being a much more versatile tire. The casing is heavier and rubber compound not quite as soft as the Ibex. A lot of people, including myself, have a hard time keeping knobs on the Ibex for very long. In my experience, I would say that while the Ibex has all of it's knobs, it is stickier overall for extreme terrain, but the VE33s traction will last longer and keep its knobs longer. Also, I think that if you want to ride some faster, easier stuff, the VE33s handles substantially better.
Oh man that looks fun! Nice riding too! 👌
Looks like a blast! Wet sloppy fun there!
the log that bucked that dude at around 11:30 looked like the log that track official threw at Cody Webb
That downhill where you doing your best cheerleader impersonation looked steep.
Yeah, alot of it is really steep. Unfortunately, the GoPro doesn't do the hills any justice.
I've got bruises all over from that start. Looks like you do too! Good riding!
That start is so sketchy. I'm thankful every time I get to the top of that hill without getting a rock to the face!
Sweet ride!
Thanks! 🤙
I've never seen anything like that! Does your clutch work? 😆
Clutch works fine. Rider... Maybe not so much....
So if you were to pick something to run Stix and Stones, what would you run? I am currently running a 525 on the Beta, and I have an mx33 on my Yamaha. The mx33 gets great traction but the compound is super hard, I don't have much faith in it for the roots and big rocks. I have thought about this tire, the 525, or the Knarly. Kinda sitting in the unknown still with it.
I haven't fully made up my mind, but I am leaning towards the VE33S and a worn out/squishy mousse. I tend to struggle most on soft hill climbs and I think the VE33S digs a little better than the IX09. My other consideration is running the VE33S for hot lap day and the IXO9 for the race, since the IXO9 does a little better in the big slick rocks and tree roots. It will be some combination or either/or of those two tires though.
Theres a balance between soft enough for slow tec Gnarly rock traction (trials) and then having a tire that wont come apart ripping through fast paced hard terrain. Personally, Ill take a soft gummy type tire for traction any day between the two, even if it only lasts a race or 2.
Running way to much psi on that tire 😫
🤔🤔🤔
NICE RIDE :)
Great job Kyle. Hope your bike is ok!
It's got a few bumps and bruises, but it'll survive. 😁
This does not look like fun.
Haha! Definitely not for everyone!
Man you rallied my corse great job
Thanks! It was one of the best I've rode! Tons of fun! Well done and thanks for all the work!
