This video follows all of Georgia State Route 124 northbound from I-20 near Stonecrest and Lithonia to State Route 11 just outside of Jefferson in Jackson County. Along the way, we will pass through Snellville, Lawrenceville, and Braselton.

Great job! I love Hiram but the traffic on 278 is getting insane! Downtown is quite quaint.
@@ryandaniel4571 thank you! & i agree, traffic on 278 has always been pretty heavy any time i’ve been in the area.. i’m sure it’ll only get worse if people continue moving out that way. Hiram is pretty nice from what i’ve seen of it, although i do wish its downtown was a little more developed.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I grew up in Cobb County but never really did hang out in Austell, except the Austell Rd corridor. Last March I moved into a little duplex apartment off of Humphries Hill Rd and I have completely fallen in love with "old" Austell! So many charming old homes and little "tucked away" places. I love the small town feel, which Powder Springs is even losing thanks to the big apartment buildings. I hope those stay out of Austell. Of particular note are South Cobb Diner, Wallace Barbecue, Frog Rock Brewery, and Cenacle coffee shop, owned by a local pastor. Only thing you left out which would have been wonderful to include is the beautiful historic Threadmill, which contains the city offices as well as the awesome ukulele store Uke Republic!

@@idontevenknow3457-z9i lol yeah it wasn’t very nice in its original configuration. what’s even more embarrassing is how long it’s supposed to take to finish it. construction is slated to be done in 2030 if i’m not mistaken even though it’s been ongoing since at least 2018

285 is really overdue for an re-paving.
@@pimpsquad27 it’s been repaved since this video was filmed, at least the Top End has. the section on the west side may still need to be repaved since the concrete was in pretty bad shape the last time i drove it (about three months ago)

The reason why they changed the street name of 141 was because of the ever-changing nature of Chamblee (and likely Doraville, as well)
@@TheFreeAgent2024 you are right! if i’m not mistaken, i think the two cities voted to rename the road sometime in the 2000s, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that signage started to reflect that. considering some other roads around town w/ “Industrial” in their name, i didn’t think this one was bad.. but i will say it does reflect the current nature of the two cities (Chamblee in particular).
Panola road bridge over interstate 20 needs to be replaced.
@@jonnybrussat3965 i completely agree. a lot of the stretch of I-20 from I-285 on the eastside to Conyers needs to be upgraded. hopefully some work will be done eventually, but only time will tell.

As a native Tennessean, I thought you might like to know that the word "Tennessee" means "orange barrel in road."

@@trvlcam The trick is to find a road that ISN'T under construction. And the TDOT has a habit of beginning a project, blocking off a lane or two with a thousand orange barrels, and then moving on to another project, for say, five years. Not kidding.
