I changed my mind, I think it needs a TDI and six speed manual
6:00 that was obviously a rotatination disk, how can you not know that
Be aware, the valve body and governor of the AOD are not able to be adapted to shift at the appropriate timing for the 4R70W gear ratios. It's also not something that can be changed with springs or hole sizes in the valve body/plate nor weights and springs in the governor, nor a combination of both - it's in the diameters of the valves in the valve body that control the scheduling. The best way to use an AOD is to get one from a 1991-1992 F-150 with a 5.0l engine and adapt it for use with a C-6 converter and Transgo AOD HP kit. Good luck with it. I hope it works well for you.
i havent put it in the car yet so we will see!
@@projectblackjack It will likely work fine, just the shift scheduling won't be 100% ideal for the car/engine/rear gear. It can be tweaked but only truly lines up with the AOD/AOD-E gear ratios. When going with a hydraulic AOD family trans I keep the AOD gears and install the 4R70W/75W drums and clutch sets. The taller AOD ratios work better with more powerful engines and/or shorter(4.10-up) gears.
I swear an old barn is basically a treasure chest. Never know what you'll find!
thats an amazing find!
I can do you one better than spiders in the wheel well, in 2019 I needed another beater car bad, bought a castaway pile of trash 2000 Nissan Sentra with 200 and "Yes" thousand miles, 5 speed manual, mid trim model, AC even worked, clutch was iffy, so I did end up replacing the clutch, beat on that car for a few years before it gave out. Anyway, I got the car home and realized it had been sitting at the auction lot so long it was basically one giant red wasp nest, and down here in Virginia, most people know black wasps are annoying, red wasps are only second to yellow jackets 'cause there are always more yellow jackets in a nest. Had to try really hard not to burn that car to the ground... Anyway, found your channel 'cause of DeBoss, used to watch the vids y'all did back when. Looking forward to what happens with this Mustang.
Thanks! You guys have some spicy critters down there. I don’t even look for that stuff since I’m not used to it, haha.
@@projectblackjack If you're in the south, scout it out, something is living in it haha. Stay safe man, looking forward to seeing what you do with the ole 'Stang.
Crazy stuff.
Congratulations on making the trip back successfully. Memories to last a lifetime.
Nice find.
Thanks!
It was great seeing you today at Tim Hortons
Hello Stefan, it’s Jason Slack. I went to school with you at Eastview. Good job on the videos.
@realslacker6110 thanks brother, Eastview! That brings back some good memories
I got a picture with you in Clarksville at Mr. Tire 9:01🤘🤘
Had fun getting it ready for the trip with you man. Glad she done good for you to make it home safe.
Enjoyed getting her running again with y'all man.
Hi, I liked the videos, how easy was the Canadian customs to bring the car from USA? Lots of paper work?
@paulfernandez7459 it was super easy, I used an online broker and it needs to done 3 business before you cross, the broker was 50 cad
just found and subscribed, cool channel 😎
@coolmre158 thanks!
Is the rear subframe solid? I remember rebuilding gas tank strap mounts on those. Not so fun lol
The car was mint underneath
@@projectblackjack such a shame it burnt but you got a smokin deal on it!
Glad to see you back. Do you still have the MG Midget????
I do, its all in parts but I still have them all
@@projectblackjack The Mustang is cool but, I always liked than little Midget
@@hisforhack I love them also, once I have a shop again I'll get into building them again
rock auto har allt i bromsväg till verkligt bra priser
I bought a lot of parts from rockauto and sent them a head of time
It looks like a good runner!
Replace dimmer switch on floor for intermittent headlites. Pit oil pressure. Gauge in there to CHEK pressure....
@user-ht1xu4gv2u I think I’ve figured out the headlight problem. The lights had a higher power draw, causing the dash switch to overheat and cut out.
@@projectblackjack add relay in engine bay and. Just have. Relay turn on light
Nice wheels, Black Jack! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Also, 👍 on doing the TDI Jeep, a project I’ve been considering.
@GregMcM thanks! I've got a few miles on the jeep now, and I love it. It's a blast to drive now
Sweet! It looks so much better now that it’s clean, it just needs a HO 5.0 EFI motor and overdrive transmission, even a ford explorer motor would work good
@xozindustries7451 if only I had a donor car like a 1993 thunderbird with and aod trans 🤔😉
@@projectblackjack now you’re talking!
Liked this. My first car was a 65 mustang
How much did Walmart charge you? They got me in on mounting and balancing for $30 a wheel. That’s pretty comparable to my local tire shops
@philliptownsend2829 I can't remember now, but it felt like too much! 🤣
Man it's great to see you back to getting up to automotive shenanigans!
@spudsmckenzie4123 thanks! Lots more to come
I'm enjoying this video
nice ride. my 2nd car was a 65 Mustang pony gt. loved it. 289 hi-po 4 spd. red with red pony interior. Bought it in 76 for 950 bucks.
Very nice!
@@projectblackjack yeah but I totaled it. 24 hours after I bought it. young kid, fast car not a lick of sense.showing off in front of friends, you know the story. lucky I didn't hurt myself or someone else. bought another one that had been setting up in the weeds and took all the goodies out of the wrecked one and put it in the other one but it wasn't a legit gt titled car but had all the drivetrain and suspension/disc brakes parts and the pony interior parts. So not all was lost but man that is one of those regrets that stick with you over the years. That car would have been worth a lot in today's market.
That's one beautiful '65. Looks like you're rescuing it just in time. It wouldn't stay nice in that barn too much longer.
I think so too!
I'm a farmer is rural Ohio. There is no better crowd to be involved in, than a small time farmer. They work hard. They appreciate everything they have. Are humble. And love their country. Finding a Mustang like this in a small town farmers barn, is for sure a treasure. I've restored 64.5-68 Mustangs for 40+ years. Hopefully you enjoy your hidden treasure for years to come.
I have had nothing but positive experiences with the farming community. Chris and his family are the best and we've become good buds. My wife and I have already made some good memories with the car and more to come
@@projectblackjack hopefully you have updated videos of the car in the near future........?????
Part 2 will be coming out soon
suc it jack, thought you were leaving......
Sweet ride!
Thanks!
Fun fact Bristol TN is closer to Ontario than it is to Memphis TN
We had a lot of fun getting this old mustang going
I'm just here for the lovely assistant introduction singing 😅
300 horsepower motor and a 300 shot of NO2=600 horsepower, easy 😂

That is quite the cigar :P that must take some time to get through
Hell Yeah! Can't beat the TDI! 😅
What a pile of junk you got scammed sucker!
Should've named the Jeep Frankenstein because you brought her back to lifeeeeeee
Sorry but I've heard that one before 3 weeks later ask the guy hey where's your car threw a rod
@@FrankStPeter well let's find out there are more videos to come
@@projectblackjack could have just been the mechanic though it was an 87 foxbody that he put a 302 in it left the four-cylinder rear end in it,,, it did 80 miles an hour in third gear idling😜
Wow, perfect candidate for a Coyote swap. Is this the independent rear suspension t-bird?
@@AndySomogyi yes it is and pretty beefy!
@AndySomogyi I kept the rear suspension and sub frame
Not only am I excited to see this done in video but I hope it's ready in time for Moparfest in New Hamburg next month and you'll bring it! I want to take a Jeep Comanche frame and do a TDI swap with a '54 Fargo body.
@@Moparfest_Robbie it's done and on the road! 😄
Holy pinion angle
it looks like that because its on the hoist, Ive put lots of miles on it now and no problems
Skipped to the end, I assume there's another video of it running. Not really into installation vids but would love to see it run, as a former jeep and TDI owner.
@@BradHines it's coming
The paint job reminds me of how carnival rides are painted. I can't wait to see the TDI's first start in the Jeep.
Where's the SRT swapped Midget?
in parts in storage
6:35 Nice emblem-bomb on the airbag 😅
I know! it was removed
