I was an Independent Hearing Aid Audiologist, now an amateur musician (my new album 'Paul Dyer in the 21st Century' released March 2024 so please buy it) and Ukulele Enthusiast. Some ukes I've kept, some have gone to that great trading place known as ebay.
Some of my videos are better than others, but although I was not blessed with great talent I enjoyed doing each one.

Thanks for commenting. What next?
Cheers... 😃 good Job
You are too kind. Of course this is a song from my youth, and therefore motivational for me as well.
This is so great!! I only started learning guitar recently & I'm documenting my entire learning journey on here so this was super motivational!
That, Pab, is the best yet ,discord and all. Terrific.
Genuinely appreciated. It took a bit of actual effort: rewarding once completed.
Great review ❤
I have just ordered this one, how do you change the strings?(I cant see the knots)sorry for asking a stuped question but I am a beginner
When you receive it you should be able to see how the strings are attached to the saddle.
Brilliant 👍
hi
Thanks for the review.
Looks like a nice instrument. I became interested in building stringed instruments in my retirement and have built several Tenors and one Baritone. I always make the action as low as possible simply because it makes playability so much easier. It's nice to see the manufacturer gave you a decent setup. Often manufacturers keep the action high to avoid returns due to string buzz, but for beginners this only discourages their learning to play the instrument. It is a chore to setup the instrument if the action is high but we'll worth the effort. The action is adjusted at the nut and Saddle. I have my baritone set to about 30 thousands at the nut and I believe around 100 thousands at the 12th fret. Stewmac has a page of recommendations for various instruments one can use and I suggest using as a reference. Since most don't have the files needed for adjusting the nut from the top then if one wants to do so carefully sanding down the bottom of the nut is a great alternative to using files on the top. I do this often and use a 3/16 thick edge on a squared bar of aluminum to run the side of the nut along as I sand to make certain I don't sand an unwanted angle or slope in the nut's bottom surface. Incidentally the nut will come off with a light tap from a soft hobby hammer or even a block of wood. The nut is only held by a spot of glue and that's all that is needed when put back in place. The only thing you need to know is that a change in height of X at the nut will give you a change in height of 1/2 times X at the 12th fret and a change in height of Y at the saddle will give you a change in height of 1/2 times Y at the 12th fret. Hence it's possible to lower the action at the nut by say 20 thousands if too high but retain the action at the 12th fret by adding a new saddle that is 20 thousands higher otherwise such a change at the nut would lower the action at the 12th fret by 10 thousands. I recomend making action adjustments by one's self if for no other reason than it saves roughly $80 and you can dial in your preference. I do recommend buying spare nuts and saddles on EBay because goofs can and will occur but nothing beats a great action. It just makes fingering so much easier to acquire a clear clean tone.
Great memory of our time together. Hope you return soon.
We should have a cold one - maybe I could pop over if you can take a lunch break?
Loved it…great getaway…..great grub and a few beers, what more do you want…nice one
Wes Borland has a custom 4 string guitar he replaces the low E with a bass string & has it tuned to F# F# B E. He uses it on the song Nookie, I'm wondering if you can do that with 1 of these tenor tele's. These guitars look dope in my opinion & make me want to get creative. Less is more
I wish they would restock the tenor tele
Eastwood Guitars have something similar and a good range of tenor guitars: and you can specify DGBE tuning (like the tenor tele)
Nice t-shirt!
Just ordered one in green too. Planning to string and tune it like a baritone uke.
If you like this, check out 'The Unlikely Brothers' on TH-cam - actually they're a little more skilled than I (they do have a producer though), if only nearly as good-looking!
🔥🔥🔥
Great Cover, nice pickin
Please, what is the manufacturer and model of the other guitar, the semi acoustic?
Eastwood
Eastwood Classic Tenor
I own an Oscar Schmidt uke and they sound great, especially when they are in tune.
Hi Pab, thanks for pulling that gem out of your musical archives and breathing new life into it. Macca sure had a masterful way of capturing other people's lives. I am reminded of Paul Simon's "Old Friends, sat on their park bench like bookends" tune. Another writing genius. We may be getting older and beginning to see our contemporaries slip away but to my mind its no time to sit and wonder when there is still life to be grabbed by the balls and shaken. After the plague we gotta get out and get on. Keep the tunes coming!
Looks Tasty
Why not tune the Guitar down a step to CFAD? You can play Bouzouki music hthis way lie Manolis Chitois who played a 4 Course Bouzouki tuned like the top 4 Strings of a Guitar down a step.
Got mine from Wunjo Guitars, Denmark St, London. WC2. (www.wunjoguitars.com) - maybe they can help.
I've been watching most of the videos regarding this instrument, but nobody gave me any information of thisTele Tenor if it is available for left handed .
no
@@solar80 Hi,Goran, you are right, months back i gave a call to Fender Customer service ,and it has been told me that it was available for right handed only, so i decided to order the " regular " model , thinking to make some works on it ; but.... hear it, after 7 ( yes, seven) months that i've ordered the instrument to a store near my house, the clerk gave me a phone call, telling me that it went out of production, and therefore can't be delivered. At this point i have asked to a friend of mine to make it one hand made, will cost me more ,but at least will be for sure well made, North Ash wood for the body, mahogany top, maple neck with ebony fretboard. About the pick-ups, one single coil for neck position, and a double coil for the bridge, both made on special order, furthermore, it will be a semi- hollow body. Greetings from Italy, Patrick 👋🎶
good use of effects and the song is amazing
And yet again, I'm smiling from end to end. Love your work!
sadly they are unavailable
I want to play the guitar for my entire life. Good luck!
Hi Paul !!! tx so much, hoping to see you your video to copy your rig setup. Amazing.
Where did you get your GCEA strings ?
This Fender is tuned DGBE. As per may reply to Atil, Risa (Germany) do make electric (steel-string) Ukuleles and so may be able to provide 'GCEA' Strings. (My 'Risa has a 'Low G').
Thank you I just thought Ukulele string would be way too small for this
@@anirol7908 you can ask: www.ukulele.de
@@PaulCDyer I tune one of my tenors to ukulele tuning GCEA - the easiest & probably cheapest way is to purchase a set of guitar strings in 8s or 9s (I've used 8s - yet to try 9s). Discard the 5th & 6th strings - viola! Works very well..
@@denishaberley2509 5th and 6th are the thickest or thinest? :D
Hi. Can we tune like an ukulele? GCEA?
I'm sure you can - needs to be Ukulele (tenor) 'Steel' strings: Risa do make steel-strung Tenor Ukes, if that helps.
Yea Can be tuned G C E A Use Tenor Guitar Strings Mines on a low G
Tenor guitar is much bigger than tenor uke. Not the same strings.
Hello Sir, I don't think Thomann does anything to them except maybe put the box in an other box. That's fine, at least they are not made in China. These are made by APC.
Nice nice job
what are the chords?
Thx for the review, Paul. But leave off the phaser next time plz. 🙂
Hi, you said its laminate but on the Thomann website, they claim it's solid. Have they changed recently or is yours actually solid.
Sadly I sold it so cannot answer
Good
I don’t know I should dislike or like...
