As far as the hair styles point you mentioned, I saw some folks going through the character creator and I like the amount of options. Can we get somebody to strap Yoshi P to a chair and make him watch for a few min, as I'm convinced he has never seen brown folks before.

What I was saying is if you walk up to anybody and ask them to name iconic PlayStation (any generation) games, you would get a lot of answers, plenty of which would be from the final fantasy series but none would be final fantasy xvi I'd argue that ffx was the last iconic ff PlayStation game. Yea xiv and xvi are / were exclusive to PlayStation but don't feel like those are iconic "my console is better than your console" type games. If astrobot uses any ff characters it's gotta be from vii, ix or x.

On a side note, you never mentioned the success of Warhammer Space Marine 2, think its numbers make it the second or most successful Warhammer game ever.

I have been playing FF14 on and off for a while, I am currently in the Stormblood content feels like I will never get upto date. At times it feels very intimidating

I'm in VA and I didn't hear of any tournament 😅 LGS here only run Pokemon and Magic, out of 5 (Northern VA/DC) only 1 does Yugioh, 2 does Lorcana, 4 does One Piece, but No FF here. Unless times have changed since I've last looked, wouldn't put it past me, apparently an Anime/TCG store opened up at my local mall 3 months ago and I only just found out yesterday cause all I do is work and come home, then occasional conventions 😂

A couple of years ago I wanted to try out every mainline Zelda game, so I went out of my way to get all the consoles and purchase all the games I can, whether physical or digitally (RIP eShop). But there is one particular game, Zelda: Four Swords (Anniversary Edition. Yes this specific edition because it's the one with the single-player mode), that was only released on the DSi Shop as a limited-time release. So right now it is not available anymore legally. The only way to legally play it is to find a DSi that happens to still have that piece of software. Now, I'm not saying I emulated it, but come on Nintendo, what other option do I have?

Not gonna lie, off and on player on XIV since 1.0 launch. Wife and I watched the Dawntrail trailer and were like "oh. okay... cool". As a fanboy of XI, sure, Aht Urghan flavor is great and the XI raid looks fun but. First cinematic trailer and overall theme for a XIV expansion where I was left very "meh" on it. When the hell are we getting DQ3 or DQXII info btw lol, was teased like half a century ago

Listening to Mike, it sounds like nothing has changed for the Game Awards. More reveals and trailers than actual rewards, cringy hosts, "look at how mainstream we are" vibe. It is extremely relevant though, since everyone and their grandma is making "live watching" content and similar "what I think about" stuff.

For Dom, people are saying you can use paired joycons on the steamdeck. Also agree with Tarkoth, Octopath Traveller 2 deserved more love, especially on the soundtrack front. And as for game of the week, I'll throw it to Troy, got to love some Red Dead Redemption 2

Octopath Traveler II got absolutely snubbed for RPG... id put that in over FF16...

To be fair i knew in the back of my brain that BG3 was multi-player because of the issues with xbox porting and having split screen work... but i forgot about it and was confused when i saw it in this catagory

Clocktower for me as well. Played it with brother and friend looong time ago on PS1. Even though we used printed guide book (it was popular back then) even then it scared living sh** out of us - to be fair we were something like 13-15. Friend was playing, brother was following the guide and I was simply watching them play because I was the youngest of us. When I played for the first time - Half Life. I was 12 or 13 years old when first time played it. All of the monsters were scary and never knew what was around the corner.

Seems a bit of a hassle because your likely going to struggle to find appropriate games/opponents. I wish SE would get of their 10 year lazy approach and put some work into making this an online game where they can include FFXIV characters items.

As a person who waited till No Man's Sky was made better (after it went back up to full price), I am waiting for Redfall to be better. Or at least, buy it when it is on deep, deep discount, lol.

Love It or Leave It: Love the 'Tales' stories. They add more context to the things that happened in the game, like Flynn said, things we couldn't normally see. They are different than the out of game stories other games do, where they are showing things that should be in the game (everything that happens in between WoW expansions, for example). The 'Tales' aren't doing any heavy lifting of the games story, and I like that.

Mike, I was not arguing that EA or any big company would be forced to raise prices if they paid devs and actors more. Of course they don't have to, but I was asking IF they said "we are unwilling to lower our profit and as such any additional cost WILL passed on to you" how many people would still be in favor of paying more. People are always "pay the devs/ talent" when it cost them nothing. I'm legitimately curious if those same calls would be as loud if gamers felt the effects directly. In the form of higher game prices. Again, I know devs have already raised prices recently. I'm just curious how gamers will react if they say "we will keep raising them every time people ask us to pay more for inputs".

I am with Tark, I would have loved just a remaster of the graphics of FF7. I didn't need a re-imagination.

You guys started without me. I came in at 7 and saw you were already going so i just decided to duck out and catch VOD.

You guys are sleeping on Tifa. The one bad thing about the card is the discard but that can actually be really useful at times to get something in break zone or to just clear out the hand. Even without the nono memes which is probably doable, its a: 1cp Brave 9k = Good. Can't by dull so basically says fuck you to ice and lightning = good. Cat 7 = good. Job Avalanche = Good And if you take it under the earth/wind umbrella with out nono it has access to a lot of back up reactivation for the punchy punchy special. If your playing starter noctis it becomes a 1cp 9k ping, pretty good. Fits in the fight mechanic earth likes pretty easily. Costing 1cp the removal is going to be probably more costly or an equal trade, and then earth can just grab it back from the break zone at any time. New Fenrir summon offers it 'free' protection. And lets not forget the interaction with Biggs starter, becomes unbreakable so i'll have all those other 9k block trades Travis mentions and i'll draw a card back to make up for the on entry discard. Christmas has come early lads.
