I think the non-shapeshifted cases shouldn't be too hard, but after jumbling, I'm not sure how I would go about this. Skewb has a tricky invariant, relating corner orientation of the secondary tetrad and center permutation. Other than that it's simple, just assume that corners in the main tetrad are placed.

if you start with a solved cube you can never swap 2 corners without swapping 2 edges, this is how we found all possible pll cases, we just looked through all the ways the last 8 pieces can be moved around without flipping or twisting corners

Good question! On a 3x3, when you do a single move, you cycle 4 edges and 4 corners. This means 3 swaps for each piece type (B to A, C to B, and D to C) for a total of 6 swaps. This is an even number. You can never do an odd number of swaps because adding any amount of even numbers will never equal an odd number. A 3-cycle of edges is possible because it's the same as 2 2-cycles. A J Perm also has two swaps, one for edges and one for corners. For flipped edges on 3x3, we can think about it like we're using the ZZ method. An "oriented" or "good" edge can be solved using just L, U, R, and D moves. If you have to use F moves or B moves, it's misoriented or "bad". Now if we have a solved cube and do an F move, we can see we've misoriented 4 edges. This is an even number. If we now do, let's say, an R and then an F', 3 bad edges become good and one good becomes bad. We now have 2 flipped edges. No matter what moves you do, you can't get an odd number using only even numbers. 4x4 OLL Parity is possible because when you do an inner slice move, you cycle 4 wings and no corners (3 swaps total there). The center pieces are identical, and so can be swapped without messing anything else up. We now have an odd number of swaps, and this is the reason for parity. 4x4 PLL Parity is possible because swapping 2 edges is just the same as swapping 2 sets of 2 wings. Any number of wing swaps are fine, so PLL Parity is possible. I hope this clears up everything, and if you have any more questions, please let me know, I'm happy to help!

I definitely agree that Master Pyra is a good candidate for an event! (might even be more fun than regular pyra lol) I don't 100% agree with FTO being a higher order shape mod, as the turns and solve are quite different, but I see what you're saying. Curvy Copter definitely is fun! However, it's probably too challenging for most WCA competitors and not enough people do it.

The one problem with that name is that there are many different puzzles with that shape (for example, CTO).

For real. 2x2 has become such a trivial event. If picking up the cube and putting it down is starting to take such a significant amount of time of the solve, then the event really needs to be reconsidered 💀

2x2 my favourite event but if kilominx considered as a easier megaminx is a flaw why is 2x2's not a flaw

8 and 9 are the same as 7x7 and 6x6vbut it wastes more time. 7x7 is already a time waste

but there are people who love Big cubes

so if why should we add more events that just take up competition schedule and adds nothing new to the wca

gigaminx is too similar to mega/5x5 and mirror is too similar to 3x3. wca has already rejected them

When was that? Redi Cube has a bunch of downsides, too (sprint event, bad hardware, less interest than FTO as well). I think FTO has proven that it has potential and even people like Max Park have tried it.

@ it was massive but in the end it wasn’t added I think the wca is afraid of adding new events because in the beginning of redi cube comps were hosting them a lot at the same rate as FTO, there was less comps back then but had the same percentage of events at comps as FTO everyone wanted redi cube added but they never did I’m afraid it will happen but if it did I will be willing to learn how to solve it! The redi cube craze happened in 2019!
