Jackie Brown is always severely underrated on these rankings, every time
Nice video. But take a breath my dude. That was non-stop
The film shows us what the ugly truth about justice system in these reservations. The fates the Natives had to suffer, their women violated and killed with the indifferent attitude of their mostly White law enforcement agencies and justice systems. Which only fuels vigilante justice and vengeance.
1. Pulp Fiction 2. Inglorious Bastards 3. Django 4. Hateful Eight 5. Once Upon A Time in Hollywood 6. Jackie Brown 7. Reservoir Dogs 8. Death Proof 9. Kill Bill 2 10. Kill Bill 1
This movie gets better and better after every re-watch. One of Tarantino's best.
The only thing I didn't like about this movie was that whole Gattling gun battle scene with the Natives. That scene was just stupid and the plot meandered a little. As for Johnny Depp being White bro hes not just White hes part Native, people are mixed no one is a hundred percent White or Black or whatever. Why is this such a hard thing to understand? Should they have gotten someone a hundred percent native? Maybe but should that matter? No.
I'm half Apache and I don't understand this knee jerk reaction of disgust towards movies of this kind. For one Burt Reynolds has always claimed Native American ancestry so whats the problem. Two all the Mexican Bandits in this Movie are played by Italians yet nobody says a word. Wouldn't it be nice if we all could just shut up and enjoy a really cool movie.
Whom did angel eyes point to? I don’t see that detail. Even blondie fears angel eyes so he points his gun at him?
Remember watching this as a kid, Clint Eastwood cool as fcuk in that movie and especially that clip 😎 “I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.. “😎
it's a rule, white christians don't plagiarize, they "do it better"
You never watched the Wire..Idris is a beast dude.
Lakeith is a helluva an actor, since Get Out he's just great in everything
Listening to the Narrator proves some people should just stay in their Lane with some subjects!
Clint saved the western from obscurity. It might have disappeared without him.
he was also my fav also in this film
This movie was so🔥
I wish buster Scruggs was longer..
I think you need to re read the art of war my man🤣
I honestly don't see the similarities between the two stories beyond the setup. But in Leone's film the hero uses the soldier to trick the bandits giving it a geopolitical context that has bigger stakes than Yojimbo.
I realised the parallels to RDR on my first watch John Dutton- Dutch Lloyd- Hosea Kayce- John Rip- Arthur Monica- Abigail Malcom Beck- Catherine Braithwait
I find it hard to believe that people actually considered him a bad person, like did you watch the show?
So you just left
Yup might come back tho
Jaime is my favorite. He deserved a redemption arc! I'm pissed. That whole family shat all over him!
They only killed Cherokee bill off for the good guy bs he was smarter than to give someone a fair duel
It’s the typical Good Guy v.s. Bad Guy Wild West story. Cherokee Bill’s character is very strong. If he was in a more Realistic Gritty Frontier Story. His loyalty to Rufus would have been highlighted more and his ability to plan ahead would keep him alive.
This video sucks! You can do better
i couldn't agree with you more about this movie and i'm surprised i don't see more people talk about it. the movie is just about everything you want in a movie. there is a solid plot, memorable characters (all relatable in different ways), it has a villain that's simultaneously hard and easy to hate, multi-dimensional characters all fairly fleshed out. there is romance, mystery, comedy, sorrow, everything. i was captivated throughout the entire film. i never found myself frustrated or bored with any part of it. truly one of the greatest films ever made and i feel like it doesn't get the appreciation or acknowledgement it deserves.
In some aspects, this movie was actually remade a couple/few times, by Quentin Tarantino. Look over Django and Inglourious Basterds, right?
In so many ways
i agree
3:07 The horse in the background (to the right of the coffin) kind of spooked me out. At first I thought it was a man hiding his head under a hood, or blanket, standing there or hiding behind a black board or wall getting ready to ambush big Clint. Those legs in the blur look like the legs of a man (with shoes on) facing our hero. In his left arm it looks like he's resting a pistol above the knee. If it wasn't for that white stripe on the horse's head I wouldn't have noticed it was a horse. If you hide the horse's head, the pic still looks like (to me anyway) a hooded man about to blast away. Clint's dark side? A foreshadowing of death? A white cross (on horse's head) opposing the coffin's black cross. Or something like that!
lol that interview with that comedian was a joke. He didn’t even read the book he was going to interview Tarantino on.
Cherokee Bill's death was ironic, as he disobeyed his own personal code of survival. He may have underestimated Cuffie, but he still went against his code, and he ended up dying the painful death he had feared.
Brad Pitt the best actor of all time? He’s great, but PSH, DDL, De Niro, etc still exist.
I have Beth 😂😂😂 and how tf you kill the only black guy and they did it in a bad way
Cliff Booth was a great character but it didn't require much acting chops to be honest. Certainly wasn't an Oscar worthy performance compared to what Leo did in the same movie.
Cherokee Bill is one duplicitous opportunistic bastard, why he gotta shoot bill picket from the back... This man is unbelievable
Everyones rankings are different so no diss to yours. I'd put Jackie Brown much higher, potentially even first. Everytime I watch it I enjoy and appreciate it more. It's the perfect mix of Tarantino and Leonard, has an amazing cast and the romance angle of two older people is not one we saw a lot at that time (since then it's become more common). Tarantino wrote one romance script, True Romance, but apart from that it was not a main focus of his others.
Good character, but not even close to his best.
Was Steve McQueen EVER credited on any movie as "Steven McQueen?" I don't think even the British director of the same name ("Hunger," "12 Years a Slave") ever went by anything but "Steve." That said, Sam Peckinpah was a revolutionary film pioneer and visual poet (who made some crappy commercial movies, too, to pay the bills). Tarantino is a pale, cartoonish shadow of the greater filmmakers he consciously imitates (Peckinpah, Scorsese, De Palma, Kurosawa, Fuller, Boorman, Siegel...). I don't mean to be mean, but if you're not familiar with Tarantino's references, then you have no idea of what his movies even ARE. He's an ultra-self-conscious meta movie fan playing with genre conventions and audience expectations. That's all his movies are about. On their own, they're very narrow (in terms of character, emotion, theme -- mostly limited to "revenge") but they have to be experienced in historical context or they have no meaning whatsoever...
Season 4 was a snooze fest too. Yellowstone quit being an action show. That is what went wrong.
"A parody of the American western ..." I have to strongly disagree. The Spaghetti Western, or "Euro-Western" was a it own genre. Inspired by, Intentionally inverted, & perhaps perverted, by the classic American western. But it is certainly its own thing. Just as the John Ford era Western was a genre of its own. Perhaps American propaganda in a sense, by classic western non the less. Great video mate, love to see another, best, J.
Im not gonna lie i like this movie I think its funny and entertaining but i also know it has problems
Clint Eastwood revived western movies, but Gunsmoke was and will always be a classic.
W video
How is the picture of those old movies so clear ? I just looked to rent it on Amazon and it was terrible picture quality
lol a 76 year old man gets out of prison with nothing and has to rebuild his life from scratch? And start a criminal empire at 76? America loves these mid to late 70’s guys you had one as your president and just voted another one in lol. I work in a seniors residence and can tell you confidently that almost any man in his 50’s is much better than any man in his 70’s at everything!
...I think you shouldn't watch The Nostalgia Critic's review of this film, then.
WHITE WASHED HISTORY! Cow boy was a racist term used toward black. Whites was know as a cattleman. That only further prove Cherokee Bill was a Melanated individual… whites did not know the landscape of American well enough to accomplish the things Cherokee bill accomplished, bc they were fresh off the boat at this time period in America.
😂 Was not expecting this comment. Do you believe Blacks were the original native Americans?
@ No Sir , I don’t believe anything, my great grandparents original birth certificate says American Indian before it was changed to Negro years Later. Also the National Archives records reflects that the so called “blacks “ as the original inhabitants of this land. Btw The American Indian is Different from the Native American. The American Indian is indigenous too this land , The Native American was only born here. Which is why the title Native American is not protected under the 13th 14th or 15th amendment. Do your homework, it’s a known fact that so called “blacks” was already here prior to the arrival of Cristopher Columbus and the colonization of Europeans. We are still prisoners of war and don’t even know it. Why do you think we didn’t have civil rights until the 1960’s 🤣 If you Open your eyes and look beyond an 9th grade history book you’ll find this is public record. Thou I had to spend a pretty penny to get access of these documents from the National Archives , it is still Publicly verifiable. So to answer your question, No I am not saying “Blacks” are the Original Native Americans. But I am saying, the so called “Blacks” Are aboriginal too the americas. The real American Indians , The original inhabitants of America, Ect.
