I honestly was hesitant with all the drama surrounding Kaidan, but I love him as a brother in arms for my DB, looking at this I love the direction this is taking with him. The new voice actor is phenomenal, keep up the good work!

It's been a while since I have played skyrim. And longer still since I felt hopeful for a nice, more expanded experience with the Kaidan mod. I honestly am sad that the whole extended edition/original VA had become such a drama fest. I had attempted to use that mod and I didn't feel welcomed or helped at all when I had issues with the mods. This one looks so promising and the new VA sounds like he has a great voice. He sounds a bit older, but that's fine as long as it's spoken with heart. I'm sure I'll still like it. I guess I'll keep an eye out for when I can play this mod! Thanks for the hard work!

I'm not sure if you've already answered or not but will there still be banter with other modded followers like Inigo? Or vanilla followers like Lydia? Maybe even DLC followers like Serana?

god i’m so excited for this. i love the original kaidan mod and i was so disappointed with the extended edition. they changed his personality from a stoic warrior who seems cold but secretly has a sweet side into a drunken creepy lout with nothing but more horny underneath. not to mention i never liked dan as a VA. he pronounces too many of the words wrong and makes me feel like he's never even played skyrim. the better voice acting and return to his old self is a much welcome change. please tell me you have a guestimation as to when this masterpiece will be ready? 😭

He pronounces 'justiciars' correctly! It always bugged me that Lemon couldn't be bothered to learn correct pronunciations.

I just learned about this project and I'm so glad.I loved original Kaidan but I absolutely hate thearrogant jerk IF made him.

As much as I am happy the community wants to improve Kaidan, I still prefer his original VA and performance. The way Kaidan was voiced in the original mod and its expansions is what made me fall in love with the character. Even though the new VA does a great job, it just doesn't sound like Kai. He sounds like a completely different person entirely.

I loved the original Liv's Kaidan. He was somber, serious, and quite mature in his thoughts. Both EE and IF took him in a different direction that no longer feels like the stoic warrior. I guess to each their own, but I'm glad to see this version.

I never understood why they said helgen instead of the high king passing but with this ima have to get a new replacer mod lol 😂 but i think i like the original line of dialogue he gives you when you give him a healing potion because it makes more sense Me *gives him healing potion* Kaidan "a bottle of miracle this stuff is" New dialogue Me *give potion* Kaidan "a healer?" My smart ass mouth would be like "no dumb ass i gave you a potion if i was a healer i would have cast a healing spell instead of a potion because i wouldn't have needed it then if i was" So that is my only issue with this the original line recognize exactly what you are giving him but other then that so far i like where yall are going with this And did yall also make changes to the diplomatic immunity quest voice lines Because in the original he states "ughh you gonna send me to my grave before my 30th winter" meaning he hasn't had his 30th birthday yet making him 20 something (its in both creations of kaidan 1 and 2) but in your version he doesn't say that unless you chose a different voice like that tiggered a different line of dialogue for him then that one in all honesty when i heard him say that i started to understand why he had the voice he did sounding so young and all because he specifically was supposed to sound like someone in their 20s not their 40s this new voice makes him more mature and older then he actually is supposed to be but i still like the idea of giving him a new voice because i will admit given his character and all i was expecting him to have a much deeper voice not like ulfric but more like vilkis or farkas or someone with a deep voice not the voice we was given (until i found out how old he is supposed to be to where i understand why he had the voice he had but still im 26 and some of my old classmates got voices as deep as ulfric or farkas lol) and i will admit it's gonna get some use toing because his voice has really grown on me lol but still love the idea of this new version i was literally telling my best friend "I don't really like the voice i expected it to be deeper given how his character is supposed to be and all but finding out how old he is supposed to me i understand but i still kinda wish the voice was deeper even if i gotten use to it it's still like what the fuck" and when it comes to the lines of dialogue when we are fighting when he saids "you are dead!" I'm like "that could have been voiced so much better man and said before he actually killed them like shout out you are dead! Before you actually kill them its more realistic man jesus!" because it's so stupid that he sitting here confirming it when its obvious he killed him (again im a smartass sarcastic woman and get annoyed with stupid things like that) there is other lines that make no sense like he will comment "that's a nasty way to go" even though he the one who killed them like i would understand if he was commenting on how a dragon killed someone or a bear or something but not by his own hands lol and there some other lines that could of been voiced better but i can't think of them also another reason why i think he should have a new voice because the original just don't really sound real to me like its a fake voice i sure that its not and it is how they talk and really sound but it just sounds fake like they are trying so hard that it messes the tone of it i spent 5 years in acting classes and doing an accent is hard i know but you also have to make it your own and be that character I ain't Irish but i can do a fluent accent and you would think i really came from Ireland even though i didn't because i take the voice as my own and let it come out the voice actor sounds like he was trying to hard and it caused it to come out wrong like i knew right away when i first heard him speak it was fake or at least someone trying to hard to where it sounds fake if that really is his voice and how he sounds on a regular basis i do apologize but that is my honest opinion it sounds fake to me you can even kinda hear where his voice breaks and changes i am not kidding i heard like 10 different tones of speech one time he broke character and it didn't even sound like an accent but more American before he quickly regained character i was like the fuck? His tone changes to much its not constant Another reason why i am like "is it fake or is it just him trying to hard to act out this character? I know acting tough but you really need to just be yourself and become the character your trying to act stop thinking about it and just do it when you act out a character you are no longer yourself but that character be them but also try to be yourself and have fun make the character your own especially if you created them that character is your creation meaning that character should be a representation of you its just to be based off you how you are is how that character you created is supposed to be" but it's like there is no real connection between them and the character he created like with the bella voice over for the dragonborn I don't know if someone really voiced her or if it was an AI thing but if someone did they need a new voice actor for it she couldn't act for shit beautiful voice but no power no emotions nothing she sounds like all she did was sit on her couch and read a bunch of lines out loud and they just recorded it without no real care into it she sounds like she just there and that is it like she didn't really give a fuck or anything like the scene where you fight harkon her voice ruined the hold moment no power or emotion she showed more emotion about the kids begging then anything like when she said "i will never hurt serana she to important to me" she saids it in a wsy that she doesn't really mean it or anything she just saids it in a calm casual voice like she just having a normal conversation with someone instead of someone who had intention on killing her like if that was my best friend the power and energy i would put in that line would been able to be heard and felt in your very bones and when she said never she sounded like she was rejecting someone who was tryna ask her out very calm and all it was even a weak delivery that had no power or anything to it like if i was asking you to give me the bow so i can take out the sun and you give me a "never" without some power that God himself wouldn't underestimate I'ma look at you like "really is that all you got you dont really sound intimidating or anything" when it comes to voice acting a character or acting a character you actually have to give that character a personality something that can be connected with and understood in that situation it was like really? Very disappointing some people wanted me to do a voice over for the dragonborn but god forbid if i did Bethesda would have to change the whole dialogue set up for the dragonborn to go with me i cus to much lmfao 😂 But still in all i still like how y'all redone the mod its mostly that one specific voice line about the potion lmfao im to much of a smartass lol throughout the whole time im playing the game i literally am being one 90% of the time lol 😂 But i do love this new version because i have noticed there is a lot of mistakes and yall seemed to fix the lines of dialogue and the closeness i swear it takes everything to not shout him away from me lol like dude is personal space not in your vocabulary? It was so annoying at least the flame atronach mod i got stays ways away from me lol So i do look forward to this new version!

please please please don't make him cringy like the EE and IF/AIO editions, they made him into an angsty, melodramatic, bishop-lite. I'm begging for more Kaidan content but please, not like that ;0;

Just curious, do you have any plans to revoice Kaidan's party banter that was made for interactions with other followers like Lucien, Auri, Inigo, etc?

Another comment but i really did enjoy the camping too with Kaidan as it made it more immersive. Would you consider allowing him to camp/have a camping feature like IF? If not i totally understand! Was genuinely curious as it just came to mind after reading the FAQ. ALSO love the work so far!! This looks amazing!! 👀👀

I know I’m late but honestly I’d love a family mod. I was excited for the one by Han but there’s been no update ever since everything went down with past mod teams. I wanna be able to settle down after the romance and wedding. Something like Bishop but without bishop being bishop. Not many male followers allow a route to hve kids specifically with them and a family with them without it being very vanilla npc vibes, sadly. I know it might not get added but I’d love to see something for it as someone who really liked the idea of a wholesome little family with Kaidan. Kinda like rebuilding a new family and clan with him since it’s just you and him around a couple friends he might have out there.

Can't lie I'm more used to his "young-ish" voice like the previous actor, so I didn't expect that deep voice holy shttt definitely makes him more mature. Looking forward to this mod!

I truly love the voice actor's work. I have wished for Kaidan to seem a more rounded and mature character. You're truly onto something here. Please, never degenerate the way that expanded/immersive Kaidan did.

I'm inevitably going to buy a large SSD for skyrim so I can have multiple fully modded installs with different modlists and different versions of kaidan when this comes out I would really like to have the option for this, Extended edition and Immersive features.... so fun and I love what everyone us doing with Kaidan.

I love Dan lemon I do but this is giving Kaidan a Scottish/Norse vibe and it makes so much more sense because he grew up in Skyrim he would have that kind of accent.

I really like the idea of a more mature Kaidan, but to be honest, this follower looks and sounds very different and - for me- he feels like a whole new person. But I´m definitely going to try this one out on my next playthrough :) Who knows, maybe I´ll like him even more than the original.

I can finally use the manly Kaidan Replacers!! Gogo bearded Kaidans! I currently use the one by Koralina, which suits the more 20ish sounding voice. But man oh man, I'm ready for GROWN man Kaidan bc I've been treating him like a son. I can finally feel the swoons coming.

I just found this project and I am so glad you stick so close to the original. Wonderful work! (finally Kaidan will not shove me off cliffs anymore) One issue i had while watching your video was that I sometimes couldn't understand what the new voice actor was saying. I don't know what your configs for this run were but I hope he doesn't end up so quiet in the final version. It's not because of the scottish (?) accent (which is really charming) I think it's the real soft way he speaks combined with the lines itself just being too quiet to hear in the game itself; and that was an issue for me with another voice actor before - Cael from the Raven of the Reach project has a similar way of speaking and 90% of the time I had no clue what he was mumbling. 😅

This some amazing impression. Despite that I would prefer Dan lemon this would be the PERFECT voice for a much older more experienced/wiser Kaidan who lived a long life after the events of Skyrim.

Honestly, I didn't start playing with Kaidan for a long time because of its voice acting. I know that many people like it, some even idolize it, but personally, I found the original voice quite unpleasant. I'm really glad that I learned about Kaidan Workshop at the reddit, I really like what I hear in this video. I wish you all the best of luck!

I still have Kaidan 2 in my LO and every once in a while I come back to this video to remind myself of the upcoming upgrade. DAMN the voice acting and quality is SO good.

I dont know if this has been asked but: The original Kaidan had his own meshes that made it difficult for others to make visual replacers for him. Would that be true for this Kaidan or, since you are rebuilding his framework, would it be easier to use different meshes like Vitruvia, BnP, etc.? Otherwise, I am loving this newer take on Kaidan and am excited to see where this project goes.

I was a little hesitant at first when I heard there was a new voice actor, but WOW he sounds great. Honestly, I think I like this voice even better. Also very happy to see Justiciars pronounced right, that always bugged me in the OG.
