We got to finally wear test these, maaaan you were not joking about the cushion! Impact protection is definitely S-Tier! That spring and cushion is definitely our favorite feature of this shoe. It's pretty cool how similar the Curry 12 is to this, but each shoe still plays to the strength of Curry/Fox.

I'm probably late but slashers tend to not have maximalist cushioning because the amount of force they produce when they attack the rim (usually first and second step). The force would be absorbed by the cushion (thats the smushy feeling you'd get under feet) and it would produce almost a quicksand sensation. For us it wouldn't really make a difference but if you're playing 82 games and practicing, that would cause issues down the road. More energy would be needed to get to the same max speed a person is used to, would require a little bit of more energy to jump the same vert you always reached. Thats why a majority of pro athletes have firmer/minimalist cushion set ups in their shoes (tennis, basketball, volleyball, etc). or a simpler way to think of it - Squatting heavy with zoomX cushion, your feet would sink into the shoe making your feet unstable and not able to efficiently push the ground under you.
