Cricket Pitch Repair (AMAZING TRANSFORMATION)
1960's TORO came out with the platform 😅😊😅😊😮
I’d love to own one. But you can pretty much get a new fancy reel electric for the same price
Why don’t you have a wheelchaired gram mother do your commercials then?
Near perfect combination of lawn mower and hovercraft.
Hi, just curious, don't the heavy machines like tractors create a soil compaction preventing deep root growth or squashing the stems? Or does that apply only with regular grass? Also expected to see some over-seeding incorporated, but I'm guessing it's the regenerating type of grass that fills in the bare spots?
looks great but why turf side up and not turf side down?
Battery Won’t do 18 greens
That used to be called a Flymo
Wish they were available in the US
It’s made in Indiana you can get them
This video is like a cross between Billy Mays and a news reporter
This is the best comment
Are these mowers available for sale?
35 pounds is not lite
It's either 32 lbs or 21 lbs depending which battery you use. Not very different from the industry standard gas machines which are around 26 lbs. And it's quiet.
Can't wait for the 2024 commercial line to be released this spring/ summer. N41..Thank you
Can't wait!
That machine costs probably a gazillion $$$$
Yes they are around $80,000 new. Part of our business is bringing in our experts for hire so that golf courses can sell their machines and use that budget elsewhere. They generally only use them 2 or 3 times a year
If that is a Makita trimmer head, how did you remove the whole head? Mine seems to have retaining clips.
We have very wet greens and they keep slipping out as you pull up. Any advice?
I’d sure like to see this on a push up green for once
One of the nines at this course had a push up greens (the oldest nine). We did indeed test it. Would you like us to share?
Superb!
Thanks a lot!
😊😂❤❤❤❤
<3
Noma FlyMo was the OG. I still have one from the 80's that works.
That's incredible 😂
Don’t. It’ll choke out your lawn. Maybe once every few years
Ideally you should pull cores twice per year. Additionally, you could either add a sand injection, or replace one aeration with sand injection. Solid tining or water injection would be great summer practices as well. All of these methods allow better airflow and gaseous exchange, they will do the opposite of choking out your turf.
But what they don’t tell you it’s freaking heavy! And gets more heavy with the pug in it …
Hello Raul, the Tacit Sholé (22lbs) is actually 5 lbs lighter than the Par Aide HiO (27 lbs)
do you guys use a scannining unit before hand to preserve the shape and size of the bunkers?
For this project we consulted with the original architect, Doug Carrick. He marked the course and shapes for the bunkers, approved the removal of some bunkers and oversaw the shaping of the project.
Which team would use
This was a college field. Can't remember where.
Does regular top dressing cause layering issues?
The main downside of top dressing too much is that it is somewhat annoying for the user if a lot of sand is noticeable. It’s hard to over do it in terms of health for the turf. It prevents disease and is overall one of the best practices for the turf.
Any representative in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia?
Zero. Only in the U.S.
I have used these for a week now. Pros - powerful, very well built, mower cuts very well, batteries charge quickly and have decent run time. Cons - very heavy which makes loading/ unloading from van or truck difficult. They definitely need to shed some weight. Liffting up stairs difficult. Height adjustment should be easier. Expensive - although battery has 8 year warranty so probably worth it. Verdict - I see a huge potential for these machines. They are good in so many ways just let down by the excessive weight. Maybe the 2.0 version will be lighter. Best for medium to larger lawn areas. A bit cumbersome for smaller lawns.
Thanks for the feedback. We have seen a welcome market with municipal and urban areas thanks to the low noise which seems to be one of the biggest factors. That and the fact that you don't need to stop and start the engine. Just press and go. You almost don't realize how convenient it is until you go back to gas powered for the first time.
I want that
Hate to be sarcastic, but... If the hole is cut perfectly, why did she have to remove more material from the hole before she put the plug back in the hole??
Usually because when golfers put the pin back in kinda hard or what not it pushes the cup down further into the soil creating excess material which in turn would make a high plug. A plug too high would be scalped when mowed.
Thanks for this. The soil loosens when cut because it de-compacts. This happens with any hole cutter. That's why she took some soil out. This was only her first or second time cutting a hole. If she were on the crew she would likely have it looking pretty good by the end of the day.
Is this on a golf course....the putting green?
Yes
yes
If the members see you fixing their pitch marks, they'll leave them all for you.
Trash 😂😂
Fraze mowing has made this obsolete unless if you want to replace the rootzone mix. Fraze mowing can relevel the tee and remove the thatch so new sod can be put down or seed
We actually have a video on exactly this. th-cam.com/video/GqsyQgK49PY/w-d-xo.html
The answer is: it totally depends on the project. For a simple strip and level, Fraze mowing is great. In this case we were expanding, reshaping etc. Not that simple. As for levelling, Fraze mowing does a nice job at stripping and getting things somewhat level. It's a good starting point but isn't precise to 1 degree like the laser grading. We always do laser grading, even if we Fraze.
Thanks for the comment!
This is only done to help air get in and out of the green since summer months usually have the least amount of air movement hence why courses use fans during the summer. Does this help will product apllications? No, if it did we would be doing the same thing in the fall and spring after aeration. The only compaction this is helping with is the top couple of inches of the root zone and its only helping a little. There is reasons why we do this and of course everything else that will still be the same if we dont do it.
There is also vertidrain and hydrojet areation, you dont always have to fill the holes, we punch a lot of holes during the growing season but usually only topdress the holes twice, we punch holes with water during really hot summer months, we vertidrain, punch 10 to 12 inch deep holes into the green that are typically the size of a pencil or less wjthout pulling a core, solid tines. Topdressing before aeration is becoming someting courses do from time to time. Aeration really doesnt remove thatch when consider how much thatch is left behind. Verticutting removes more thatch and is typically something we do before aeration. Aeration is mainly for compaction but it removes some thatch as well. Doing aeration at different depths makes sure no layering forms and helps get more oxygen into the soil and helps remove harmful gasses that form black layer if they stay in the soil for to long.
it takes too long
What is the best distance between the blades of verticutting cassette?
I thought of those 25 years ago also, sounds like she needs three batteries charging in the cart.
Nearly $3K for a manual reel mower is not worth it
Even though, It is a good and solid manual reel mower but it definitely doesn’t worth the money. 600 bucks maximum for the manual mower like this.
Definitely not for everyone's budget. They used these at the PGA Championship.
Great video!!! Do you aerate as well?
Yes we do! For clarification, we wouldn't aerate at the same time as verticutting as they both do essentially the same thing just in different ways and to different degrees. We also do sand injection, water injection, deep tining, sand banding etc.
@@allturf thanks for the reply. Keep up the great content. I love watching!

Nice! On the last droneshot the car was moving backwards 😂
Thanks!
What time a year is this done? Is this done yearly? Every three years? Thanks
It may be best to do it early, but can be done later as well. It should be done to break up heavy thatch, so the frequency really depends many factors such as the soil complex and the maintenance history. If the soil needed lots of work, it could be done back to back years to get started, but certainly does not need to be done every year. Overall it really depends on the situation.
@@allturfthis isn't done yearly, this is done monthly during the growing season, it varies where this is being done. For a home lawn don't bother your turf doesn't need it near as often. Greens have it done most often, we groom/verticut every two week along with a light topdressing this also depends on what type of grass you have. If it's bentgrass most likely fairways are being done every month or every other month. See bentgrass creates a lot of thatch naturally, it's not dead material, it's living material and dead material, certain types of turf create far more especially newer cultivars of bentgrass and zoysia, some newer hybrids of bentgrass are fixing this problem with less thatch but they still create a bunch of thatch. The living part is what creates the most thatch so often with brentgrass, with warm season grasses it can be the opposite with all the stolons and rhizomes the turf going dormant, so many different factors. All of this is mainly done on golf courses to help with drainage and prevent disease, you have to mess something up that looks beautiful to keep it beautiful because the turf grows so dense, if we don't problems follows, water won't drain, insane disease problems that can wipe out a fairways or green in a day or two. I have zoysia for my home lawn and being a superintendent you would think I maintain the turf the same but it's the opposite, I haven't done anything to the soil, no aeration, verticutting or anything in 3 years, the soil profile looks fine, thatch is under control and the turf couldn't look more beautiful. But I do the things that matter, soil test, fertilize properly, soil amendments when needed, water properly when needed and put down any other applications when needed but that's it, in the next year or two I will aerate and or verticut pretty heavily, this will last quite awhile because I do everything I should, scalping the dormant turf in early spring so it doesn't add to thatch, this is all possible because heavy equipment doesn't compact the soil, same as golf carts, mowing 3 times a week, spraying, driving tractors to fertilize and put other applications down and I have proper drainage throughout the yard, these are all things people should spend money on and if you don't have them the turf will look worse and maybe you should aerate and seed every year like my neighbors do with lawn services but they come to me every couple of months during the growing season and ask how they can stop wasting money.
@@chosen1one930I have seeded zenith zoysia that's 1yr old. Are u saying I shouldn't dethatch yet? Wait till spring 2024 to scalp/scarify ? I mow it at 3" coz at 2" it browns out 😢
i have no interest in golf, but boy do i love grass
Appreciate it!
Great Video
Thank you!
Doing what the pros do is ALWAYS a good idea!! Thanks for not making this a 15 minute video with 'the same information'.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Actually you really don't want to do the same thing on home lawns, there is no need unless your growing bentgrass or zoysia grasses that produce huge amounts of thatch. Topdressing fairways isn't good soil, it takes more water to maintain, we do it to have fast firm fairways but it's main purpose is to have areas where the water will drain below the thatch meaning fairways will dry faster. During the growing season I have the greens groomed/verticut every two weeks (A4 Bentgrass) along with a light topdressing that helps keep the entire green draining. If aeration holes get covered with thatch they do not drain near as well. During the growing season I have zoysia fairways verticut every 8 weeks but we also verticut at the same timeto a depth of 6 to 8 inches. It ensures we continue to get more sand into sandy soil. It helps ensure fairways will drain fast and continue to be firm but also what the members want most, being able to drive carts off the cart path. Sand is really good and it's really bad, it requires courses to water so much more, especially courses that have sand based root zone mix from tee to green. It also doesn't hold nutrients very well. Homeowners don't need to aerate every year or verticut, if you topdress use a 50/50 mix of peat and sand it will hold water and drain. Compaction and thatch isnt a huge problem on home lawns unless of course you have zoysia or bentgrass or one of those people that have fairway cut grass or a putting green but every cultivar of grass is different especially newer hybrids where they are quite literally breeding the problems out of grass one step at a time.
It looks great. Great aerial shots!
Thanks a lot!
Come on granny if you want your prescription s that whole ditch needs to be mowed by lunch
Legendary 😂 That will be written into the sequel
