Maces just have it all. Tons of cc, condi clear, blast finishers, full wep cd's reset, stab. They're pretty wild right now.

There are a few used within the video since I'm just experimenting. If you're asking about the melee build, all details except the armor can be found through watching the clip and looking at the thumbnail. Armor/weps are mostly dragon with a few cele trinkets.

Current state, ranger really isn't a ranged class. Heck, the axe ambush skill is probably the best of all the ranged weapons right now. I'm getting my bow fix on other classes rn sadly. :(

I just use the default ` key to the left of 1. It's not too far of a reach for me, so it works fairly well.

This was all shortly before the patch. None of the traits in the build were affected though. I think the only thing that changed was the "protect me" CD nerf.

That's why I put out the video. ;) I'm pretty glad it's gone though. I stayed away from druid because of it for a long time. It just wasn't engaging.

Caution comes from me playing untamed mostly where I am forced to be ultra cautious these days lol. Druid has so many tools, its weird going between them. Glad they made more mistakes though. ;)

Nice!! I'm glad you're still rocking it! How do you manage things now that pet swap and merge are no longer the same mechanic? That was a big point of the build I ran at least. Also, how does it stack up against condi? That was always a weakness of that build from the beginning.

@@tmcthemistcouncil1788So condition mitigation hasn’t really changed but my caveat here is I am a former Thief main which also has pretty terrible condition mitigation (while not on Specter), and play very hit and run no matter the class I play. Individual conditions aren’t really a problem with this build, it’s the big burst of multiple conditions that get you. Luckily, one mechanic of the game is big condition bursts are typically close range bombs, and require you to be locked down for a moment to fully apply them. This build has a ton of stun breaks and movement skills to get out of those situations, and enough sustain / reductions with Dolyak/Protect Me to tank through the single high damaging conditions. Just need to make sure you are only in melee range against power, or to do your burst against condi before getting out. For Cele you can generally eat them up before they can get their might stacks up, as you can get max might and quickness faster than they can and straight up punch through them with your burst. They can survive your burst if they stop might stacking and play defensively, but that stops their might rotatation, while you still have yours as well as quickness. As for the pet mechanic, you do lose some fluidity which is unfortunate. However, you also gain a whole new skill set which is awesome. I use the Gazelle for my second pet and getting a huge leap is fantastic for my hit and run style. Plus, you get another CC which always helps, especially if your LB4/GS5 miss. The quickness on merge is gone, but it persists with pet swap, so I’ll often just swap pets before a burst or before I merge, which gives me the quickness anyway. I do miss the fluidity but you do get used to it and having four extra skills for free is pretty amazing. You can even run a healing/condi clear pet like Brown Bear or something to further help with your condition problems, though I really haven’t found the need. What builds are you playing now on Ranger?

Thanks, I appreciate it. Don't be fooled by the montage, I am rarely getting decent fights these days either. The state of wvw is far worse off than it was at the time of making this. These days, you can still improve in spvp, or playing a tank copy of the build you'd like to eventually play in wvw. Being able to learn your skills in a low pressure kind of way, where winning isn't the goal, but learning your own weapon combos as well as enemy combos is will certainly drive improvement. I can't recommend celestial for this however. You don't get a solid understanding of your build's vulnerabilities going that route.

Tail Swipe enjoyers unite!!! I still like that wolf has 2 cc's and wish there were another option to compete with drake, but it is just too good, and even fills out the damage gap outside the burst combo a little bit.

@@tmcthemistcouncil1788 yeah I feel untamed pets lack oomph in general, an unleashed pet porting on top of you should be more of a threat, tail swipe carries the power spec

@@imenz93 Absolutely. I'm not advocating for pve numbers on the unleashed pet skills, but its also in the name "unleash". I'd take a few tradeoffs to make those 3 skills a bit more exciting. Certainly not complaining about the utility though. Blast finisher and projectile hate is great.

Thanks! It took me a while to really settle on something that I liked, but now it’s hard to go back. Managing the jades and their resource as well as the multitude of new combo fields to utilize is pretty hard to go back from. Glad you enjoyed.

It absolutely is. Closest I've ever been to a mesmer main with a 5 button port 1shot combo lol. (Working on a 7 button one with the GS ambush followup now)

I'm glad you enjoyed! Air sigil is a bit of a dated choice at this point. Nowadays I run energy and cleansing. I know it's boring but condi spam is real. Plus the cleansing sigil makes running the glyph heal as opposed to the cantrip heal easier on core. Right now I've been messing more with FA catalyst which makes the cleansing sigil not optional really, since you don't have the sustain/clear options with the water line. I like the core build the most to play, but in the current meta it just isn't hitting the damage numbers it needs to.

I'm not ready to let that level of cancerous build out into the world just yet. There's enough celestial players out there right now haha

Cleansing sigil on both weapons is absolutely necessary to me if solo roaming on this build, which I do a good amount of. The new untamed stunbreak also drops all condis and is a good panic button if you get condi bombed. That's usually enough to make it through most 1v1's, plus the build has a decent amount of stealth which helps as well.

There's a lot to unpack here! First off, thanks for the kudos fellow ranger! I'm glad you enjoyed and got something out of it. Regarding the suggestions: 1. Last I tested, if someone had stab, the stab would still prevent the cc, and Absorption wouldn't work. I've considered it for ripping prot however. 2. I actually picked 8% ferocity trait over ZS because of the pet. Wolf gives me my burst. If I give it quickness, it will sometimes auto-attack before my maul completes, wasting the remorseless attack on pet swap. For a slower pet like a drake, ZS is 100% the pick. 3. I was playing with Blinding Outburst initially and kept finding that my pet wouldn't port far enough to apply the blind, or the blind would be used up on a smaller attack than I wanted, so I just picked barrier as a lazy choice. Both of my frustrations are from my own play though, so I think as I learn the mechanics more, I may go back to trying it, but for now, I reserve that one for players more skilled than me lol. - Mal (Discord: Mal#0992 if you care to discuss more!)
