    Hi Mike. Great kit, finally got around to fitting it been ill for a while. At 5:40 in the video regarding the bolt for the standoff spacer, having difficulty on front subframe due to the cone shape of the upright not being parallel to the shock turret. Basically as you tighten up the bolt is pulls down. What is the reason for this setup? I feel its not really adding much value relative to the work of drilling cutting and grinding to not really gain much additional support. I think the kit is structurally sound and solid without it. Plenty stiffness and support. My 2 cents as a mechanic and sheet metal product designer. Regards Grayson

    What sort of camber setting do you get with having the ball joint all the way back? I just fit my FCCKIT and set them as per this video. Just curious. Just need to get my wheel alignment done

      Just seen your comment Jake, for anyone reading always send me an email with questions .In answer to your question I can't actually say because the subframes were made that badly the camber can be anywhere! If you have had a alignment done before fitting then you can guestimate what adjustment is required. That said even with all the negative adjustment you may still not get the correct amount needed. This is where help is at hand with my camber adjuster kit which allows you to get even more adjustment by allowing the pivot arm to be relocated inboard.

      @@MikeSaturN500OMG I may need that kit, all corners bar the rear left are pretty good, the rear left is set as far negative as it can be with the shims and from memory it was still slightly positive, still been driving with no issues but might need that kit to dial it in properly

    For information we are now on MK7 model of this kit which has some slight improvements . The main one is the width of the arm has been reduced by 12mm at the inboard end and this means that there is less modification needed to the subframe . The old bump stop should be removed and the new one fitted to the arm after the spring and shock assembly has been fitted.

    Hi Mike, I have fitted by rear FCC kit and the anti roll bar fouls the new upper arm. I have added the new ARB brackets but it's not possible to connect the ends of the ARB at the suspension arm ends, what should I do?

      @@Pablodwnunda Fitting the kit is better than the alternative, which is scrapping the car. :) I found it to be quite difficult to fit, but I got there in the end. The rear springs are quite stiff and difficult to feed into place.It would be a lot easier with the sub-frame removed from the car, so if you need to refurbish your frame, take the opportunity. The coolant pipes run between the frame, so with hindsight I should have drained the coolant and removed the front sub-frame completely from the car. Now driving the car for 6 months and it's good to drive, a bit hard over bumps but that's because I've got the settings wound up tight for track days. Now the car is fixed for a lifetime, I took the view that the cars being fitted with repaired Hydragas will need doing again in 10 years, or will fail entirely in the future.

    Hello Mike, I would like to enquire, how to purchase this kit for my dad’s ’96 mgf... the hydragas system is totally out. And it appears there are no more spare parts available for the hydragas system. Due to this, the car has been idle for nearly a year!!! My dad misses his daily rides in the MGF. In the early 70’s he had a red MGA, it was bought from a British engineer expatriate working in Malaysia. I basically grew up in that MGA. We would really appreciate it if you could assist us in getting this conversion kit.

    I have a 1999 MGF VVC, I've spent a lot of time on, upgrading brakes to big brakes, new head gasket kit, clutch, welding, respraying, the list goes on. It is miles better than when I bought it, and possibly a future classic as more MGFs get scrapped. I'd like to keep it, and this upgrade suspension kit makes sense. Its either this one or the Suplex kit. Getting a mechanic to fit it though in Cornwall, is going to be a challenge.

      Yes I have had enquiries for the metro and also cars using donor MGF subrames .I would not 'experiment' using a customer's car as it is not my policy to use customer's car for development work.I have had trial fittings to the metro front suspension and it appears to be possible with the body clearances but spring rates would need some further development and because it is quite usual for owners to have different weight engines/requirements I would not be able to suggest one spring rate for all cars.I would say you could fit the kit tou your GTa but would need different spring rates ..some corner weighting would be a start.
