The room is just as it was the day he died, the only thing they did was ad some of his items to his desk and his medals and some pictures on his bed. Other than that, it's all the same, moth eaten uniform on a hanger slowing disintegrating from the ravages of time, his bedspread still on the bed, all the things hanging on the wall, it's quite extraordinary to think the room has remained so for 100 plus years now. The first thing I thought of was this song, the saddest song I've ever heard from Waits, and it captures the spirit if that room perfectly.
