It was the combination of: "the fear of plane, an effort to overcome this fear, the curiosity about knowing how planes fly, led me to a career in aviation. But most of all, it was the desire to reach back to my community that kept me pushing through flight school. It is flights like this that makes it all with worth the up and down of flight training.

@@derrick2251 Thanks brother and congratulations! Just remember to take any mistake you make when you’re demonstrating a maneuver as a teachable moment. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, make them! This will give you a chance to explain to your DPE the reason the maneuver was not executed correctly and how to execute it correctly. Good luck bro!
@ Got it thanks :)
@ I passed :)
@derrick2251 Congratulations 🎊🎉🍾 🧑✈️…. Happy for you bro! Welcome to the world of instructors 👨🏫. This is where the true learning begins! 👏🏿
@@nimbapilot6925 Thank you very much! I’ll tune into some of your videos to see what I can learn from you. Let’s do this👊
When you have your AME visit DO NOT admit to having any medical records or prior medical conditions. Nothing. None. Nada. Zip. Zero. Nil. Nyet. Nein.
Well, wouldn’t that be lying on your application if you hide known conditions. Telling the truth; especially in aviation, when it comes to medical history may save yours and others lives.
Well done!!
Thanks!
My guy. I am proud of you Mr. Nimba Pilot
Appreciate you brother. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for this info.
You welcome! Good luck on your aviation journey!
Welcome to the skies Caleb! Great job keeping the lines between your cracks guys 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha…. That’s funny 🤣🤣🤣🥲
First and foremost, great work by both of you! Second, what headsets are you both wearing?
Hey Jabarihunt… Thanks for watching the video. I’m wearing the lightspeed Tango wireless headset. I don’t remember the brand name of the headset the student is wearing but if you type 300 dollars ANR headset on Amazon you should be able to find similar headset. The one I’m wearing was discontinued by the company but now has the Zulu 3 and delta Zulu.
@@nimbapilot6925 Thank you! I have a pair of A20s that were gifted to me. I really like the Delta Zulu, but would like a cheaper backup headset.
Great video. I learned to always go over the pre-takeoff checklist if the normal takeoff routine is disrupted. As a student on a solo flight, I recall being on my takeoff roll, and realizing that I hadn't adjusted my seat, I decided to attempt to adjust it like I do in my truck, while driving, and as soon as I pulled the lever the seat went in full reverse and I was already at rotation speed and running out of runway. I had to wait until I reached pattern altitude to adjust it and felt like an idiot for the rest of the flight. And btw, it just so happened to be a PA-28! Much thanks for your transparency.
@tyethescrybe3807 Thanks for watching and leaving a review. Truly, experience is the best teacher we could ever ask for. How is flying going? Have you gotten your certificate yet?
Good on you for being transparent. I had that happen to me on a ride with an FAA inspector from the FSDO no less! Thankfully someone saw it and told us on the taxi out. A lot of good lessons here. Thanks!
Hi Bigskitch. I appreciate you watching and leaving a feedback and your own personal experience. We must own up to our mistakes; learn from it; that’s the only way we can be a safe and better pilots. I know that happening to you with a FAA inspector must have been very stressful.
Even if I have 12 hours already should I still put 0 or 12?
No. If you already have hours, report those hours. Don’t leave it at zero. You want them to see that you have already started flight training. Congrats and keep working hard towards your dream! Thanks for watching. if you found this video helpful, please like subscribe and shared. Thanks
@@nimbapilot6925 Thank you so much you’re amazing this helpeda lot!
Nice videos bro. Studying for CFI currently. Any tips for me?
@@slamandgo congratulations on reaching this far in your aviation journey. The process of becoming a CFI is not easy! Everything you have learned from private till now, you have to now pretty much not only know it, you have to understand it and be able to teach it to someone who knows nothing about aviation. I know people will say memorize the acronyms, I say that would be the worst thing you could do. You have to get away from memorization and strive to understand the subject area instead of just memorizing. When you do that, you will be able to explain whatever subject area they ask you without trying to memorize which acronyms goes with what. That is how I went through my (CFI) and my (CFI-I). If you would like to see the draft of My steady materials reply with your email and I will send it to you. Good luck and thanks for watching my videos.
how far back do they look for medication? i’m 23
It depends on what medication(s) and what were you or are you taking it for. If you tell them you were or are on a medication, they will have to communicate with your primary physician to get all necessary medical records. I know of a person who is given medication for a certain condition but was not officially diagnosed with the condition when she was in 2nd grade; now she’s a 24 year old woman. As of now, she’s unable to get her third class medical; therefore, she can not solo.? She is still going through the process of sending in medical records from all the doctors who have prescribed her medication and to provide that she can do without the medication. According to her, she hasn’t taken the medication for over five years but still it is taking her a long time. I also know of a student with same condition but was able to get their medical within a matter of couple of months. With that being said, I think it all depends on how well you keeping up with your medical records and how quickly you can provide that you cad operates and aircraft by yourself safely. Talk to your AME. Make sure you talk to them about all condition and medication you are on. Hope this helps and good luck!
@@nimbapilot6925 got diagnosed with ADHD as a kid (like 3rd grade). haven’t taken any medication AT ALL in over ten years. i don’t remember who my pediatrician was, who my neurologist was, haven’t even seen my “primary” doctor. is there a way for faa to even find out about all this stuff
Ty brother I much appreciate this so much
You are welcome. Glad it helps.

@@nkoauguste4948 Hey. Congrats on starting your journey to becoming a pilot! Email me at nimbapilot@gmail.com
Congrats 👏
Thanks for sharing my brother, I’ll give you some unsolicited advice, you can do whatever you want with these perspectives, it’s up to you of course; remember to yell “clear” right before you switch the master switch to the ON position and right before engaging the starter and the reason you want to yell “clear” right before turning on the master switch is because if you had a little bit of fuel/air mixture left in the cylinders and if turning on the master somehow engages the starter (happened in the past), the engine will start running, so it’s better to stay safe and let people know to stand clear of the propeller even for this minor coincidence. Always treat the prop. as if she’s about to start spinning any moment. Also, it’s good that you want your student to progress and pick up some of the things right away on the discovery flight, that shows you care a lot about your students, however if you do these maneuvers or even try to show them these maneuvers, they won’t know exactly what’s happening as they didn’t get their ground lessons on these things, so learners may respond emotionally such as with anxiety which will yield negative result and learners won’t learn anything and worse yet, they will shy away from learning that thing in the future because it yielded their anxiety. That’s why Discovery Flights are not flight lessons or ground lessons, just maybe a little bit of both, but just a little bit at that with maybe teaching them how to taxi and a little of the takeoff, straight and level flight, turns, climbs, and descents. And that’s it. But a Discovery Flight should be just going up and flying to somewhere where you can do some sight seeing, maybe to another airport and then coming back. That’s it. Thanks man. And be safe out there.
There is a saying that goes like this: “Education has no end, even Mr. PhD is still learning. I appreciate your input and rest assured; I take every input I get into consideration. Everything you said is 100% on point. Although it wasn’t shown in the video, I make sure that I brief my students on the plan of action for that flight. Thanks again my brother for watching and your input. I’ll see you in next video.
I enjoy watching these landings. That last one was smooth. It may have not been where you wanted to touch down but, it was great.
Thanks for watching MosesCraig.?It was indeed a soft landing!

Im a 22 truck driver im interested in being a pilot how much would did license cost PPL to start
Varies. Some offer financial aid. You have to search your local area. Go take a discovery flight as well.
It depends on the route you take. they have part 141 or 61. Part 141 is a flight school that follow a straight FAA syllabus and 61 is a self-Pace. for part 141= you are requirement to have a minimum of 35 flight hours and a 30 hours of ground hours. 61 is self-pace and self-study. meaning you don't need the 35 ground hours but you need about 40 hrs. minimum. Those hours are the bare minimum. the national average ranges from 65 and up. now for how much it would cost; let say the flight school you want to go to charges 215 dollars per hour for the plane and instructor, and you get your ppl in 40 hours, that would be: you are looking at 8,600. you get it in about 65 hours; which is the realistic figure; it would be: 13, 975. Hope this help. let me know if you have further questions.
@@nimbapilot6925 im located in south CA Palm Springs area my local school for PPL IS part 141 and they charge 15k for the whole thing but didn’t knew the part 61 is better off because you can go on your paste
I can't stress how awesome it is to see Black people teaching and flying. I know they're out there. But, to SEE it and share it makes a HUGE difference. Some may not think so but seeing your own doing things you want to do really empowers a person. Especially children. I hope to be able to get my private license this year. But, no matter when, it will happen! Right now I just do sim to learn some basic (I know it's not the same but the equipment is). Nimba, you're an encouraging teacher and yet I can see your focus still watching everything. All I have to type is, wear your seatbelt sir! LOL NEW SUB!
@LokiDWolf: Thank you for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It was the fear of a plane and my desire to get over that fear that led me into a career in aviation. I started my journey back in 2014 while taking on a full-time degree at a university. Of course, I was using the student loan I was getting from the school to pay for flight. After I graduated, the loan stopped, so I couldn't continue with flight training. I stopped flying for a very long time while I worked and saved money. It took me almost 2 years to get my ppl. Long story short, it took me eight (8) years, including two years COVID 19 took away from us. I say this to say, "Sir, as long you have faith in God, and you work hard towards your dream and goals, God will see you through. Since you can not make it to the real plane right now, you are doing the right thing to do sim to learn the basic. Keep doing that and reading; you will be ready when it comes time for you to start flight training. The PHAK and airplane flying handbook are some good books to read. Let me know if you have any questions, brother.
That first landing was butter! Very nicely done! Brought back fond memories of my first good landings, after bouncing, and skipping all over the place! Excellent job!
