So.. It was 2004.. Ord, Nebraska. 2400 people. My older brother and I were very close. He was a huge influence on my style, thoughts, music, most things. He would talk to me about astral projection sometimes. He'd light candles for me outside of his apartment for protection, he would say. I was 17 and he was 23 or 24. His friends became mine and mine his. We got into a big argument over something dumb. It was the first time I shut him out completely. He tried to talk to me but I kept my headphones on and ignored him. He slapped them off of my ears trying to talk about why he was upset that I brought a girl over to his girlfriend at the time's place. Just a friend of a friend that needed friends. I put the headphones back on again and he slapped them away, again. I quickly sat up from my couch and it made him flinch. In that moment, he knew I wouldn't be scared of him. I walked away, up the stairs to base level and drove away in my car. He chased me around town for a bit but eventually gave up. We didn't talk after that. He was around for a while here and there. We both slept in the basement of my mom and step-dad's. You'd walk down the wooden stairs, turn into a living-room area, turn again into the small space that was my room, and then walk through to my brother's room. He was just calm a few days. My friends and I didn't see him for about 3 days. His car was still home. My friends and I talked about the possibility that he was dead in his room, but shrugged it off....nahhh. I figured, he'd just taken off for a while like he would do pretty often when we were growing up. He always kept his door locked, next to my room, so I wouldn't try to take his clothes, or listen to his records or play his guitars. His alarm clock would go off every day at 7am. With the door locked, I'd already be up for school and gone by the time the alarm went off so I didn't know about it. Our Mom would wait for it to shut off after a bit since it wasn't too loud coming from the basement. My step dad would flip the breaker to his room to shut it off. About the 3 day mark, I felt like I should try astral projection again, sort of missing him and not really trying to leave my body, more just trying to see through the wall into the living room area in our basement. I fell asleep. I woke up, faintly, hearing footsteps down the wood steps (unfinished basement) but didn't hear anything. I always had a night night i, admit. I would always crack one eye open just a sliver to look at the entryway to my room and was familiar with the shadow it would cast. I was lying on my left side and had my right eye open, then closed, then open....drifting, ready if my brother was going to pass through my room to get to his, like normal. I didn't see anything a long while, but was still awake. I saw a roundness to the door edge shadow my little light would usually cast. I thought maybe he was sneaking and peaking in just trying to see if I was asleep or not. I closed my eyes again and just listened to see if he was going to walk through. I realized then that I couldn't move. Anything. I couldn't even crack my eyes open anymore. I'd never had sleep paralysis. I willed my right eye to open a sliver again and what I saw at the foot of my bed was a tall silhouette of someone with a long coat, sharp outlines, and a flat brimmed hat. It reminded me of the movie Jeepers Creepers. No face, no eyes, just coat and hat. But I felt the biggest sense of being prey. I couldn't move, but felt only what I can describe of evil. I felt fear. I felt that if I was able to move, this guy was going to kill me. I closed the sliver in my eye and pretended to be asleep since he hadn't done anything yet. I just listened. I couldn't hear anything, but I could feel everything. It lasted about 5 full minutes. I finally was able to move and the room was still dark, the guy gone. I eventually went to sleep. The next day, I was in art class and got called to the office. WTF did I do? My step dad was there with the school counselor. I hadn't done anything, but figured something happened. My friends and I were the only punk/goth kids in a midwestern town of 2400 in the middle of nowhere. Seriously an hour to the next small city. My step dad said he found my brother. My step dad broke into my brother's room to unplug the alarm and found my brother had hung himself in his closet. Cops said it was about 3 days before he was found. My step dad said it didn't even look like him. I immediately left school and went home to lots of police and ambulance lights, about noon. The entire house smelled. My brother closed all of his vents with tape because he liked weed. I never smelt anything before. They were bringing his body up in a body bag when I entered the door. I've never seen the guy in the hat and coat since then, and never have felt that feeling of doom since, but I think he was like a grim reaper or i don't know.

I hate to say this but, this thing is really real. I saw one. On a sunny morning actually. And, it looked like a solid black male figure. Like an adult man. But it was solid black with no facial features whatsoever. I was inside and saw it in a monitor. But it wasn't human. I watched it for a couple minutes and then just thought I was maybe just not seeing it right. But, a few minutes later went to head out, and I noticed that it was still out there. That's when I started to take a closer look. I couldn't believe my eyes. I watched it for several minutes. It was literally going through the cab of a pickup truck parked outside. I know it sounds crazy. But it was acting like it was looking for something. I had never heard of shadow people before at that point in time. But, when I walked outside finally, I saw that truck, and the driver's side door was in fact still open. Crazy.

I’ve been talking about this since I was 16. It’s crazy I just found out that other people have seen it too. I woke up and saw a figure that almost filled the doorway it was so tall. I thought my friends brother or my friend was playing a joke on me. I said what are you doing? And it replied to me! It said ‘what are YOU doing’ but the voice was so strange I quickly realized it was not my friend. Plus she was sleeping right next to me. I was so scared I just hid under the covers and just went back to sleep. She always talked about her house being haunted so I figured it was because of that. But I never experienced anything else in that house.

My cousin was driving one night with his friends drinking then some man wearing black hat and coat jumped infront of there car and was floating towards them, My cousin and his friends drove away as fast as they can with 5 cop cars 🚔 then 2 helicopters 🚁 chasing after it

It’s darker than the darkness

I was doing a search of this because I myself have come across him just last night but my story is a bit different. I am also 8 1/2 months pregnant. I woke up because surprise I had to pee and I went downstairs. I looked in my living room (pitch black) and saw a figure of a man wearing what looked to be a cloak or trench coat and a brimmed hat. I did a double-take and it was gone but it was standing in the corner of the room. I was not afraid because I am sensitive and have been dealing with paranormal things since I was 7 years old and am used to seeing/hearing things most cannot. What is a little weird though is that I was talking about it and my 17-year-old son (sensitive as well) told me he saw the same thing about a week earlier in the same spot. Interesting. Out of all the years I have been dealing with paranormal this is the first time I have ever seen this. Glad you shared your experience :)

This exact thing happened to me

I use to see him when I was maybe 5 or 6 at my grandparents house this was in maybe 1993. I would look up the stairs and see him at the top of the stairs he would kind of go from side to side. Glowing red eyes, top hat, trench coat. I never really felt threatened but I would watch him, he was watching me. Never understood it and until a couple of years ago i found out that this is something that thousands of people have seen....scary
