Hi Brad! Greetings from Romania! Brad, have you found a way to sharpen the blades for the Einhell Reel Mower? I have one in use , but I'm trying to see how to get the blades to spin the other way so I can use some polishing paste so they sharpen up.
Thanks for the comment! No, I haven't needed to yet. However, when I do I'll try backlapping first with a polishing/backlap paste as you mentioned. Probably around 80 grit. I'm hoping I can take one of the wheels off and spin the shaft in reverse with a drill. Let me know how you get on

Good video.. I’m looking at various options of seed for next year for my front lawn and I’m.considering Bermuda seed would you recommend it as I no it’s predominantly used of golf courses and bowling greens
Thank you! Yes Bermuda is probably one of the easier grasses to look after, solid all round including drought tolerance

Making use of what we have, we have an unusually small garden - but wanted to show people that you can make it work. If I can grow turf in a stadium I can grow turf in my own garden no matter the size

@@TheTurfDoctor but the techniques you are using are all wrong. You can’t just dump grass seed onto compacted soil and expect a good germination rate. The reason you have had so little success and many bare patches is because you’re not doing things correctly. As a bare minimum you need to disturb the soil slightly and rake over to get some kind of good seed to soil contact and hide it from the birds. From when you started to now the middle of summer you should have a well established lawn

Would be good if you could give an indication of dates in your videos - you probably need to get these out quicker as your advice from April is not going to apply now 3 months on

We couldn't find any online - but in all honesty with the rate at which a manual mower spins you'll unlikely to ever need to replace the blade, perhaps the odd backlap, that's about it.

Fun fact most people don't know, most grass seeds to fix your lawn are annuals, as in when winter comes it dies and doesn't come back in spring. Read the back of the bag and make sure it's perennial grass seed. Then you won't have to replant it every year.

The garden was previously paved, the walls had fallen down and it was pretty overgrown. I'll do a short this week with the images from when we moved in!

Are you putting seed directly on to sand? If so I've never seen this done in the dozens of videos I've seen regarding this topic.
That is correct, I've worked in the sports turf industry for many years. The reason I have done this on my lawn is I wanted to show this was an option. We're currently on day 24 from seeding and its ready for a cut.
